hehe...thanks -- I was thinking about that -- we're thinking about heating up the epoxy that holds the head on the shaft to soften it -- well, I've made fiberglass and carbon graphite archery bows and epoxy is what bind the fibers and make a useful structure! Graphite products are brittle and/or noodle-ey! So I sit there hoping they use an epoxy with a higher heat tolerance to make the shaft itself, but I haven't ever become aware of higher epoxy heat tolerance differences in existence that are profound enough to barbecue on. So I want to get 'er off and quit applying heat, not to mention not twisting and bending which most people repeat... Thanks! You're a cut above and a blessing to the community
Just slap it in a vice with rubber clamp and then put and open end wrench on the shaft thats big enough to slide over shaft but small enough to catch the hozzle and then tap it off.
Thanks for the butane torch idea. I ended up getting one a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. Way better than a heat gun or propane torch that Blues the hosel.
Where can I find aluminium originales dampeners for Titleist 755 cb irons 3 and 4? Or how can i replace with something different? Thank you very much!!!
I did it recently, picked out a bit at a time, pulling strands with pliers and ended up drilling the remaining carbon fiber and epoxy out. I used a smaller than the hole drill bit at first, starting by hand and finished in a drill very lightly. The hosel wire brush shown in the video is a good finishing tool and usually all you'll need to cleanout the head. I didn't have one but managed without a problem.

steel is super easy, you can remove it with a stove. With graphite if you are careful enough to not overheat the hosel, you can just pull it by hand with a glove. epoxy become gum like when heated, but don't risk it if you are pulling something expensive.
Yes, he showed his top of the line puller. But as he stated, there are others more suitable for a hobbyist. I purchased a $100 unit from GolfWorks, but if you're careful, you can pull one with a crow bar. Get over yourself. This video is still valuable no matter which method or device you use.

Thanks, If you can believe it, we used to use sand in a wok to prevent from hurt the paint on a driver. The time needed was horrible.

I wish I'd watched this video before I tried to remove a 3-wood head from a shaft. Got it too hot and ruined the shaft.
He's kidding right? Who has one of those shaft vises (puller) handy in their shop? I don't. And they don't look cheap.

Just to be clear, a pulled graphite shaft can be reused? I always assumed that the heat needed to remove the shaft also compromised the shaft's resin.
if removed properly a removed shaft can certainly be reused

Can you make a video how to remove the remainings, when the shaft is broken just above the hosel on a driver?
