I don't understand why YSL can't/doesn't recreate the first formulation of De L'homme. Everyone loves it and it's highly regarded. I would think the company would be aware and want to make more sales. You can clearly see reviews overall mention it has gotten weaker over the years.
It's because of the eu ban on the ingredient "oak moss". That was a big part of the fragrance, along with many other fragrances. It made the fragrance slightly creamier, made it project more, and made it last longer. Since the ban, many fragrances have suffered in the performance category. They just don't last as long. The one that really suffered was Jean Paul Gaultier "le male"

Odd that it was banned and companies weren't allowed to add a warning to the label that it contained oak moss. If I recall, it was just an allergen and not toxic on its own. Thanks for refreshing my memory. I know the EU covers a lot of ground and market, but it would be cool if they still sold it outside the EU. Marked 'not to be sold in the EU' of course. 🤣

I got La Nuit and I got L’Homme EDP. These are two of the best things I’ve ever smelled. And they’re close but so different to me. If I could have only two scents for the rest of my life, they would be these two. I wear them just for myself because I love the way they smell and make me feel but I also wear them because I know everyone else will enjoy them and won’t find them too overpowering or obnoxious.
@@ssnbenedn847 I just went in to smell an assortment of fragrances and la nuit is fantastic, it’s so FRESH in cold environments and this is coming from someone who loves sweet vanilla tones. I absolutely recommend it it’s definitely not over extremely rejecting compared to some but if someone is near it is a lady killer!

I’ve tried Marly, Montale, everything , and these are my still my favs ever. They were out of them at Macys, Dillard’s, and every other place I tried at the mall. They are just that good.
I’m in Germany and Bleu Electrique is still available 50 and 100ml on Notino and discount pages as well as retailers and YSL German webpage. I tried changing locations on the YSL site and UK wasn’t there, but France, Belgium, Germany and other countries inside the EU were there and they all have it.

I tried La Nuit de L´Homme Eau de Parfum, La Nuit de L´Homme Le Parfum and L´Homme L´Intense EDP. I like La Nuit de L'Homme Eau de Parfum the most, I find it the most interesting and the least eye-catching, I really enjoy it. Then probably L´Intense, still quite interesting, exotic and unique. La Nuit de L´Homme Le Parfum is still a good fragrance, but out of the three, it feels like I've smelled it many times before, or at least it still reminds me of something, so I'm the least attracted to it, but it's possible that women feel differently.
I have a bottle of le parfum and I don’t use it on myself I actually spray my bedsheets and pillows with it every few days. I think it’s better used that way
If you really use it you can tell pretty easily that there is a strength difference in the scent. But that's pretty much what it is, just the punch and performance, not the scent itself
I smelled a sample of La Nuit de L'Homme (5:54) at a store while looking for a gift and I did not like it all 🤧, in fact I asked what notes it had to make I avoid them in future. Not a huge fan of Cardamon apparently. After sniffing quite a few men's fragrances I went with tried-and-true Acqua di Gio EDT which I think my brother will like 🤞

TH-cam really hyped up Bleu & I fell for it. Purchased 60ml & 100ml, recently sold the 60ml. Performance is sh!t & pretty much smells like the original la nuit. Find vintage la nuit 2010-2012 & it’s worth the price, smell it almost a week later on clothes
It’s difficult to make out the brand names because your hand covers the bottle or when the camera shifts where the guy is at in the dark room is impossible to read.
Performance is average. Just need to spray more. Ultime projects pretty heavily the first few hours, even with just a couple sprays. it's a compliment getter for me. The others last 5 or 6 ish hours for me . 2 sprays ain't gonna get it done tho. You need 5 or 6

Can you do a blind smell test to see if people prefer the old formulation to the newer one? Blindfolded I doubt I could tell a difference.
