    I have this kit and it is unbelievable..especially the snare and kick. Effortless to play and the feel and tone are incredible.

    Hey Tony, Roy (ex Music Express) here. Nice work guys 😊👍
    Heard a vintage kit played by Mark Charters at one of his shows at QPAC. Sounded amazing 🤩

      Hey Roy, great to hear from you.
      Mark’s a great player that would have been a great show no doubt.

      German here. Just some (useless) knowledge.
      I believe it reads Knobloch. It's a surname in Germany.
      Kobloch/Knoblauch: engl: garlic

    Great Playing too!!! i Have the 22" in red Oyster its a Big sounding drum. the 30 degree round over has EVERYTHING to do with the
    Low-End Check the 13" X 6" snare in Rosewood , very versatile as the whole fit is. bebop to swampy Blues, they can do it all!

    What is the wall thickness? Sonor old ones were very thick

    • @KillerDrumsTV
      @KillerDrumsTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      From Sonor "Vintage Series shells are made with 9 plies of select German beech for a 6mm total thickness."

    From the company that was so cheap back in the day they didn't bother making appropriately sized lugs therefore offset lugs

      @KillerDrumsTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Atilla, thanks for the comment. I kinda think Sonor were smarter than we think back then; you see Premier had many sizes of lugs as did so many other drum companies, but all have fallen by the way side most out of business. So if you think about it, as Sonor was using what they had, they kept costs down and as such kept themselves alive as a drum company. Funny, half a century on and everyone copied their offset lug design and called it Avantgarde and sort applause for their ingenuity. Technically it could be an advantage as it spreads the load over the shell. Either way, Sonor make great drum shells and drums.

    Can’t stop watching this and the Broadkaster. Gonna have to pick one of them up. Which one though? They both sound sweet.

    • @KillerDrumsTV
      @KillerDrumsTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I could add to the decision making intel, I’d add that if you’re playing larger venues live and mic’ed up go the Sonor. If you’re mostly playing smaller venues (still mic’ed) go the Broadkaster as it has a beautiful way of wrapping you up with an extra presence at the seat that’s special.
      Otherwise buy both!
      Regards Tony M

      @@KillerDrumsTV thanks Tony. They do both sound sweet. I’ll be using them mostly at home, not gigged or mic’d. Any preference on what sounds better from behind the kit?
      Cheers for the thought,
      Glen

      Owning both, I'd say that the Sonor clearly wins on tuning range and build quality. G's vintage hardware simply sucks. Both can sound wonderful.
