The drums sound fantastic, but don't sell yourself short. The drummer is the core of the sound, and if I would play that kit it would sound like a 20dollar kit from Shein 🤣
Call me crazy, but I think my favorite piece of that kit is the two splashes. They have a very unique, sweet sound. Not quite like any splash I’ve ever come across
They do I just bought a set of these used but man as much as I agree with you about the toms as soon as I hit them the kick blew my mind after the first hit I was floored it is absolutely gigantic and punches you right in the chest with a massively full deep tone and the snare I got a 6”-14” with their die-cast hoops is insane! These drums really are possibly the best drums I have ever played or heard coming from a 25 year long Gretsch die hard owning two USA custom kits.
Nice. I have a Designer kit from the mid 90's in Birds eye maple green stain. Best drums I ever heard, most beautiful drums I've ever seen. God is good. That kit sounds great. So do you my friend.
Congrats! Prolite are amazing sounding drums! The finish you have is very coolI - i particularly love their snare. Whats really a nice feature is how light they really are: great when lugging around gear 😉
Hey man I agree I used to have my eyes set on this kit but now am leaning towards getting the Sonor SQ1 kit. What are your thoughts ? I just grabbed a Benny Greb snare so this would be a great pairing.
Damn! So you initially got two sets from sonor? Thats awesome! I think they are both excellent sets just a different flavor. But since I´m a huge fan of gavin harrisons sound I would go for the prolite ;-)
Sonor has always been one of the best sounding kits you could buy, them and Yamaha have always been out front when it comes to sonic footprint and projection.
With the snare off, the only sound difference b/w it, the mounted toms, & the floor toms is pitch. Otherwise the heads sound exactly the same. Pretty sweet..
They definitely are! Go to their website and check out their licensed distributors in the US. Or you can visit your local music shop and order a kit via them 🤗
They stopped shipping to the U.S. as it was too cost prohibitive ( you ended up paying as much as an SQ2) was what I heard. Maybe that has changed very recently? I had to snag a used Prolite set from reverb: They do come up occassionally. My set is in blue sparkle and i too use black suede and love the sound. Cheers

They do sound awesome indeed. All 4, heads, drums, cymbals and drummer. You sound amazing!

Well, I sure appreciate that! 😄
The craftsmanship at Sonor is very tasteful though!
They look really beautiful too!
Indeed!!
Used to have a prolite myself, in nussbaum. Still have the snare. Best sounding kit bar none, top playing too ❤
So good!! 😄
You and the drums sound great! Greetings from San Francisco.
sounds pretty sweet. i have suede emperors on one of my sets. very nice heads. like you said, a good balance between clear and coated.
Right on! I have a set of Emperor black suedes too that I’m looking forward to trying later 😃
They sound amazing!
They sound fantastic!! Great playing, too.
Cheers!!
Prolite is a great sounding kit but I’ve always thought the designer sounded the best infact the best kit I’ve ever heard
Call me crazy, but I think my favorite piece of that kit is the two splashes. They have a very unique, sweet sound. Not quite like any splash I’ve ever come across
Yeah I love 'em!
They're Signature Dark Energy splashes 😄
hello CJ , i use emperor black suede on my snares, sound very good!
NICE!!
Really great sound!
Isn't this the kit that Gavin Harrison and the Drum Ambassadors play when they were released?
Anyway - nice!!!
Indeed it is!
Entire kit sounds awesome, but damn... those toms are booming!!
YEAH!! 😄

Awesome!!
That 14" floor tom is special though
Your passion for drumming is really contagious! I can watch you play on repeat just for your joy of the instrument 😄
Haha I take that as a huge compliment!

I absolutely agree!
Cheers mate!🔥
🔥🔥🔥
That snare is fire!!!🔥
Yeah!!
Hey man I agree I used to have my eyes set on this kit but now am leaning towards getting the Sonor SQ1 kit. What are your thoughts ?
I just grabbed a Benny Greb snare so this would be a great pairing.
Totally depends on the sound you want, but both ProLite and SQ1 are phenomenal!
And the Benny-snares are awesome!
let me guess, you're a porcupine tree fan xD. Harrison is using the qs which you also have and you have the same tuning with him and same playstyle
I loooove PT!
Damn! So you initially got two sets from sonor? Thats awesome! I think they are both excellent sets just a different flavor. But since I´m a huge fan of gavin harrisons sound I would go for the prolite ;-)

MORE COWBELL!

10% the drums
90% the drummer playing 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
😄
Every time I hear prolites they catch my ear! are they available to consumers in the US? I never see them for sale.
They definitely are!

Cheers! :D
NO !!! They are not even close to being the best of Sonor , let alone the best ever of any drums
They’re definitely one of my favorites for not being special order drums.
But to each their own 🤗
WOW!!
😄
Nah
Life is too short to just play one floor tom.
Haha true that!
