Since Perfect World was released, "Pieces of Love" had been my favorite song by Twice (yep, they give us amazing b-sides), but "Wallflower" has taken that title recently. This song has the ability to make my eyes water as I try to fight back a flood of joyful tears. I love it. I love Twice. And I love life, because our girls "make it better".
I love this album so much. For “Got the thrills” I love the pre-chorus and the chorus so much. The “let’s rock and roll babe, nuneul matchugo babe, feel the rhythm, oh” sounds so pretty. And the whole song is very pretty and cute. And I love the rap. For “Wallflower” I love the pre-chorus and the chorus is SO GOOD! I also love the rap. And for “Don’t blame it on me” I love the chorus so much! Especially the “whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh” part. I also the Jihyo in the first verse. They all did really good and sound amazing in this album. But Jihyo really stood out to me.
I felt the exact same way about the ending of Wallflower! Still my favourite b-side of the album, but was also slightly disappointed that there wasn’t that final chorus.
I love this album but I definitely felt at the end of the song one extra chorus or verse/chorus was missing. "Oh its over already" type feeling. Wallflower was a clear favorite for me, I love how it starts off soft and slow then opens up and the beat picks up, Jeongyeon killed it as well overall.
I understand the fustration with the songs tho. As a composer and songwriter myself, it is VERY HARD to make a song out of a story. Usually when it's done, it is short because if you add more it kinda ruins it. It's always sweet and short OR long and great. ONLY if you are telling a story. There are a lot of songs nowadays that are 4 mins. But most of those songs have repetitions. Great example is the song 'Angel Baby'. Not to mention, the K-Pop industry usually releases songs/albums like 3 4 even 5 times a year so it is very hard to come up with different ideas and lyrics without it not being the same as the other. The good thing about TWICE which is why I like them so much is that, most of their songs actually has a story. They're not just making it just because they can. I fell in love with them because of that. Anyway, I got dissapointed too that the songs were short but then I realized it really didn't need to be long because you just can't add anything more to what the song is trying to tell. I totally agree with you! There is definitely a point where a song feels that it’s kinda “overstayed it’s welcome”. I appreciate when song can deliver what it needs to and feel like a full song, no matter the length. There’s definitely a sweet spot. I think for me, I only get disappointed when I can actually FEEL the length of the song whether long or short or when the song is short because it’s trendy or something. Not that TWICE is doing that, just speaking in general. I can’t imagine what goes into making a song though, so kudos to the creators for sure!💙

i get your point with wallflower! i wanted the flo flo flower aaa mm section to repeat again before ending. i think most artists do that to like keep listeners wanting more and just keep looping it. i notice that with most songs off of ariana grandes last few albums

Yea a large portion of their stuff is around 3 min. to 3 and a half minutes. It's just more noticeable depending on the song, for me it's usually when it's a really good song and I dont want it to end. Taste of Love is probably the biggest culprit, they have a 2:20 song on it and the rest are under 3. And it is one of my favorite EPs of theirs. Either way this is one of my favorite EPs for them too, you could pick any of the songs as your favorites and Id be like yea totally. Ive seen ppl pick every song as their favorite and I know it's not a long EP but still. Overall B sides I like Wallflower and Crazy Stupid Love, overall though Id say Moonlight Sunrise. I'd say I like this more than Between 1&2, B1&2 had to grow on me more, while this album hit right away, both are still great though. Great video!
This is the fault of platforms that encourage young people to consume short videos, as they are getting into this accelerated thinking, they no longer want to watch or listen to long things and it's affecting the entire entertainment world. It's very worrying.
