- My friend Austin taught me about the defense feature in Tekken 8's Training mode and how to use it effectively, so I wanted to share!

Also-2! You don't have to set up the whole situation if your don't want to anymore. In Tekken 8, you can actually interrupt the replays and try other inputs. So, "what would happen if he did the same thing, but I blocked/backdashed/tried to step". You do that in your "replays and tips". Saves time when dealing with complicated opponent's stances or shit like that. Or specific placements walls or oki.
Good luck in T8!
Admire the teaching style: you know there's more, you're open about it, yet you know that lower level information needs to be out there, too, so you're here, and you own your explanations. I teach music production, appreciate a good teacher.
That's definitely a cool thing about Tekken's design being so on-rails, compared to other games. Most options are very deliberately designed to work one specific way, so you can just select the canned strings from the menu and test things. It gets a little bit trickier with pressure resets and manual delays, but it's a very good start.
Also, in the training mode settings, give yourself frames of delay if you're mainly playing online. I keep it rather brutal for now, around 3 frames. Good for low parry etc, to estimate the realism of this thing actually happening.
This is fascinating, great video
That kazuya thing youre doing is Called fuzzy guarding. Learned about it the other day v useful
"If you got electrics, you can do that! .... I don't got em like that."
That's me lol
Fuzzy gaurd
Ya friend was so right my problem is with low so hard to block I hate I mean hate Lilly her lows get me every time
I’m definitely hitting training to work on defense with Lilly, her law and Steve give me issues
Is there a way to set the dummy to block when it's not attacking? I can't find it anywhere.
Offence mode: you can set up the initial action and action after blocking or taking a hit. For the second action you can choose “punish” to set up a response for the bot.
Have fun!
@@okureta Hey, thanks for the reply! I meant in defense mode specifically. The punishes in offense mode are limited while in defense mode the character's entire move list is available, but it's not useful for getting down punish timings if the dummy can't be set to block afterward.
Usually people record the attack with the "back" held. Also, there's a setting on what to do after the first landed hit or block. Right on top under the mode that says Standing.
@@Vospi and this is so stupid😢. It turns out that in this game there is no setting for the dummy to become a block after hit from move list?
thanks for this video, I had to find out how to actually start the CPU actions. How the hell is anyone supposed to know you press start+B? The UI/UX in this game is so jank. Lot of fun to play though! I am a noob and want to use practice mode to practice low parries, and now I can :)
