I have a confession to make. I went on the Chatelaine website. At first, I was in love with the Fairy Garden Mandala. I love the little dragonflies, and the option to transfer the Floral Mandala sections into it was interesting. Then I priced out the difference from the kits on European Crosstitch and purchasing separately from a local online shop. There was a bit of saving. However, it mostly came down to the quality of the fabric and the number of beads. I hemmed and hawed a bit, thinking maybe with my Christmas bonus in a couple of weeks. But THEN, while I got lost in the European Crosstitch site, I saw my piece de la resistance. I dropped all pretenses about waiting and most likely not purchasing such an investment piece, to I HAVE to have this hanging in my living room! The Alpine Mandala Special Edition Outlander Dragonfly in Amber. I am not even scrimping on the threads. Scrooge be gone. My mother is going to steal this...I will probably have to make two! So, I will probably continue to keep an eye out on your progress and other WIPs. Thank you for the inspiration! I am so excited that I cannot sleep if I tried!
Hi Lisa! I hope you are well. It's been a while since we've seen you, so I hope all is ok. I've just watched your wonderful Chatelaine start video and I can't thank you enough for it! I've had my Chatelaine fabric and floss for a few months now and I've been putting off the start. Yours is absolutely beautiful. I've seen you more recent chatelaine videos, but there's nothing quite like seeing a blank canvas and a start. I've got the motivation now, I'll start this weekend!! Anyway, thank you again and take care. Jo xx
Poor Daisy - she made me smile. Enjoyed the 'Stitch With Me' - looking forward to the next one. The chatelaine is stunning, just beautiful. Thanks for the info and advice.
Love all your videos but have particularly enjoyed seeing the start of you journey with your chatelaine. I was thinking that I could never do anything so complicated but you've started me thinking that I could may be just give it a go and see, perhaps start with something a little more simple and cheaper, but then all those gorgeous silks are half the attraction! Can't wait to see your next instalment. Thanks. Btw, Daisy falling asleep was so funny, I actually laughed out loud, bless her.
Thanks Tina, I’ve continued working on the Chatelaine over the last week and honestly they are so straight forward. I’ll even do a stitch with me on it as once you get going they are so doable! Xx
Brave hearts are the only ones that try new adventures. You made it look so easy. Might try one after several more of your videos. My heart isn't that brave yet. Good luck and stitch on.
Lisa I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos! These chatelaine and weekend vlogs in particular. I can watch them over and over again without getting tired of them :)
Thank you for saying that anyone can do a Chatelaine! I started back to cross stitching in August after about a 20 year break, so I consider myself a relatively new stitcher. I have DREAMED about Evening in the Park, and your unboxing video of the kit from European Cross Stitch just made me drool!! I so appreciate you taking us along for this ride - from the unboxing to the sorting and organizing, to the actual stitching. This is going to be a beautiful piece - thank you so much for sharing with us!
I'm not usually someone who comments but you have inspired me to start my first Chatelaine! I bought the pattern about 2 years ago and have been sick to my stomach that I haven't started it yet. You are the only one who has demystified the starting process so smoothly. Thank you for making this video, I'm so intrigued to keep watching your progress!
Thank you so much! I’m glad the upload had the desired effect! I’ve worked on the Chatelaine for a week now and have loved every stitch. The instructions are honestly that good they are fool proof, which trust me, I need! Xx
Hi Lisa, it's such a delight to watch you start your gorgeous Chatalaine! the colours are amazing and I look forward to following your progress! Happy Stitching x
Lisa, I loved watching you make your first chatelaine stitches. I totally feel the doubt, excitement and joy as I had it a few weeks ago starting my first HAED. Looking forward to see your progess with thes beautiful colors and materials, enjoy!

Oh my gosh Lisa, that already looks absolutely stunning and a complete joy to stitch. Those colours are just something else. I’m going over to Martina’s website now to pick out my favourite xx
Wow! Lisa! Great containers. I have what is in your box. It is forever - to draw with. Enjoy. That electric eraser. It is great for drawing too! Floss too! Love my book on proportions and drawing by Chris Hart. Will never give them up. Great supplies.
I absolutely love your videos. I’m a new subscriber. You are so full of life, I really enjoy hearing your “life stories “. I feel like I have gotten to know you, in a way. Just a lovely lady! I love your Chatelaine. Waiting on mine to come in mail. Fist one to stitch. Happy stitching from the States. 😊
Thank you for your posting and sharing your starting of this pattern... I thought they would really be hard...great job showing us your stitching...best wishes😊
Lisa, ChateIaine. Is beautiful. It is going to be gorgeous. Daisy was so cute when she was falling asleep. I have to chatelaines I just need to kit them up.
Love your work on your chatalain. It's going to be beautiful! I should get my mushroom chatelain out and start it. It looks so like so much fun!! Can't wait to see your progression.
I am so glad I found you through a post from Kyle Rekemeyer. These large complex pieces are so beautiful, but also intimidating. You made it all look so easy. I am excited to be able to see your progress.
Hey, I am blown away! This is so exciting! ( May mean nothing to you- I am in Lynn, MA- Title Town 12 Championship Parades for Sports in last 18 years.). Your Chatelaine is a Brilliant Win! Loving every Stitch. You said my name. There has been some discussion on Import Taxes. Tax is Brutal.
The amount of evens that I can't right now. I watched your previous video of you receiving the kit so I OBVIOUSLY had to watch the follow up. Why am I just now subscribing? I need to be shunned. You are a joy and your dog is adorable as all hell. Cannot wait to see the progress on this :)
Thanks so much Kyle, there are so many flosstubers out there now it’s almost impossible to follow everyone which is a good thing! Good to have you here! Xx
Hello Lisa, I loved seeing the progress of you Châtelaine, I always thought that they looked difficult to stitch, but infact as you rightly said they aren't difficult, I now have 3 on the go. 1. Watergarden Mandala 2. Venice Mandala 3. Poison Garden (Hortus Venenum)
Lovely start on your Chat, beautiful colours. I laughed when you said you had found your new passion, I used to stitch all sorts, Teresa Wentzler, Lizzie Kate, LHN, Mirabilia/Nora, a wide variety of styles. Now I find it difficult to stitch anything other than Chatelaines
You’re making me want to pull out my Chatelaine and work on it again - it has been a while. Thank you for sharing your start. You’ve made really good progress already. Happy stitching 😊
I love u Lisa in love with your accent!u have so much joy and I love this tutorial I’m not afraid to start mine I have a different one so keep them coming love 💕
Wow Lisa, looks beautiful, love the colours. Makes me feel like I may be able do this too. I just worry about the specialty stitches. Anyway looking forward to seeing your progression on this.
Oh wow! I want to get this one now and I’ve only recently started my mushroom and fern! The colours are just breathtaking and like you I love all things Tudor. You’ve made marvellous progress! Well done indeed girl!!! It’s so lovely to share your journey and excitement! 🌸💕👏👏👏👏☺️
Hi lisa! Loved your podcast. I always do, lol. You explain everything so completely. I wish more podcasters were like you. I would love to do a Chalalaine but don't see me doing one in the forciable future due to the financial aspect but I can live vicariously thru you😁. Take care and may God bless you always.
Hi Lisa...so fun going on this journey with you! You are stitching the one I have my eye on, but must wait for the budget to allow. On a side note, as you were flipping though one of your drawing books, it said that the Adam’s apple is not visible on women...this isn’t true. I’ve looked at men and women and some are very prominent and some are not on either sex...plus I heard it on QI so it MUST be true. 😁. Thanks again...looking forward to the next episode! Sally in Northern California. ❤️
Hi Bonnie, I’m using 28 count antique white Jobelan that I bought from sew and so. I was originally thinking of an opalescent, but I’m glad I didn’t and kept it simple. Xx

Loved watching this. I'm currently waiting for my kit to arrive for the medieval town mandala and can't wait! How are you planning to protect your beads if you bead as you go? Xx
1st drawing lesson draw your Chatelaine, pile of beads and floss in your pile of wonder. Even draw your drawing books. Enjoy. Sketch and be happy to draw!
Hi Lisa! Can you tell me what type of frame and bars you use. I've been looking at the Millennium Frame on Needle Needs web site, but I'm not sure if that's the best (or even only) place to purchase this type of wooden frame. Do you have a video on it? Thank you.
Found your video on the Monstrik Stand and the Omanik Company. I see that you are using the Needle Needs stand in this video. Do you still use the Monstrik?
Hi Debbie, I still use the Monstrik stand and occasionally swap it out for the needle needs stand. I picked up the needle needs really cheap from a lady that I met at a stitching retreat otherwise I wouldn’t have bothered getting one as the Monstrik stand is so good. The Omanik frames I use are a great alternative the the millennium frames and most importantly you don’t have to wait 6 months for it to be delivered. The service from Anton at the Omanik factory is second to none and they ship very quickly and keep in touch all the way through the process. Xx
I am about to start my first Mirabilia (Royal Games I) and I'd like to have it on a frame. What frame size would you recommend to purchase? I'm thinking something that would also accommodate a HAED (I'm thinking of stitching Chloris). I don't think I can wait for Needle Needs to ship a frame... but I might. I want a frame that is not so in my face.
Hi Debbie, it’s hard to suggest as it depends on how big your over all design will be and size of fabric you will need to stitch it on. My HAED is on a 28 inch frame and I’ve just put my Chatelaine on my 36 inch. Best way is to calculate the fabric size for your design and then chose the frame to match. Hope that helps? Xx

Hi lisa! Loved your podcast. I always do, lol. You explain everything so completely. I wish more podcasters were like you. I would love to do a Chalalaine but don't see me doing one in the forciable future due to the financial aspect but I can live vicariously thru you😁. Take care and may God bless you always.
Thanks so much Sherry, I’ve had a great time working on it! Xx
I took Topamax everyday fir a couple years , wow what a difference in my migraines
What fun!!!!
I’ve had a great week working on it Debbie! Xx
Hi Lisa, beautiful colors. What fabric are using and where did you purchase it. I enjoy your videos. Daisy is so adorable.
Xx
What kind of fabric are you stitchin on Lisa?
1st drawing lesson draw your Chatelaine, pile of beads and floss in your pile of wonder. Even draw your drawing books. Enjoy. Sketch and be happy to draw!
Gorgeous! On pins in needles for next installment. The “ Time Out” is painful!
I love your accent, is it Scottish? Welsh? Irish?
Xx
Crafty Lisa that makes sense. I sure hope Omanik ships to the US. Thank you so much for replying.
I love it, but sooooo expensive😢
😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you xx
