you sure cutting it close with those peppers and chili. you may get some luck and get a harvest end of season. i started mine in December, by june they were already 3-4ft tall esp the bush type ones i have. i got a greenhouse with 16-17 plants 14 types pepper and chili some so hot you touch your hand be in fire for rest evening i got that after chopping a bunch up for storage so next time im using gloves. what you need is a good bit warmer weather, your ground should be good but add tomato feed that help and encourage the plant to produce flowers. good thing with bell peppers as i do not think time for them to fully get to color on the images but the green peppers you see in shops they just unripened peppers, same goes for jalapeno peppers you always see them green in the shop but if you leave them on the plant they go red and much hotter. so don't worry if you feel you running out time a frost is on way if you got peppers / chili on the plant what not got color just green they still great to harvest . i got a pepper plant full bell peppers it one the good ones what produce a lot some you may get handful for around a month now they still green. just keep an eye on first frost a steady bit wind will not be a bad thing as long to tie them to cane when they get taller as hot place with no wind and very humid blight can be an issue so wind help that. you could be better if you have is put them in 30l pots after they get a bigger so pot up a few times because the reason i say that is if you are forecast cold you maybe able to continue growing them for a bit longer in the polly tunnel, but to be safe side harvest what you can before any cold weather move them undercover if you get some extra that a bonus. when they double in size them you start seeing a big change where you see a lot more flowers what end up as peppers. its sure very late but if goes well you should get something even if they green they still taste good. bird eye chili i have growing i harvest a mix of green and red chili's. since mid june ive had a pepper a day and still loads, this year im making a powder mixes, as a lot very hot chili's, im freezing a load already started, and storing dried in jars too so three methods. few from Himalayas more bush type crazy hot very small bright yellow size large marble but took me by surprising did not read label eaten smallest bit i was burning for over hour but it had a nut aftertaste so it be very good to make powder mix after drying. banana peppers id really recommend they produce a lot, Peru rainbow chili they purple, orange, red, lime green they look great produce a lot and only med heat so very usable, romeo yellow and red type im growing for 2nd year they Sweet pointed pepper 'Xaro' has deep ruby fruits. The fruits taste delicious and have a nice straight shape. The fruits weigh 100 to 120 grams and are 18-22 cm long. the yellow seems more flavor but i looked everywhere could not find seeds so lucky i saved seeds from last year and the amount peppers you get per a plant is great. so i be growing more of romeo and banana types next year in place of the hottest ones as i think i have more than plenty hot to last years and the bell pepper what producing loads that sure on my list to grow next year. over all less hot ones, birds eye chili i grown last year too its a med heat very usable so that next year but more of ones what produce a lot, one bell pepper id not grow again im currently growing the side wall of the pepper very thin, so making a list of plants i want to grow next year and saving the seeds from them. funny thing last years harvest started very late i lost half a crop just because i potted up to late but the romeo peppers grew so well i still had a load to last me one month before this years harvest started , will have less this year as more hot ones and even world hottest back in 2012 they look scary too but a pleasant surprise i made a powder and put one in a mix its hot but sweetest mix also. last year i had one birds eye chili plant and mix of red and yellow romeo peppers around 10 plants, next year more of that but more mix and less hot ones replaced with great ones im growing this year. i was lucky as i was testing out my grow box this year for my cacti seeds but decided i will start my peppers, chilies even marigolds and tomatoes so they were already a good size to put out after l;as frost in to greenhouse and were in final pot think start June maybe month before but later on in the month, sure planning to do something like that again start early made a huge difference as ive had pepper and few chili's every day since june and not even made a dent they producing faster than i can eat them whats good so fingers crossed i have a lot to sore away. just remember you can harvest them green if need be that is what shops/farmers do for the green ones you see in the shops so if run out time for cold weather harvest what you can. some grow like crazy once in big pot or ground and produce loads fast so you never know some yours maybe that
A correction Capsicum annuum, yellow variant from the Ramiro family so Ramiro yellow, Ramiro red they very good to grow and produce a lot. they also have orange color ones too i think im going to order for next year. Sweet Banana Pepper A mild and sweet-tasting pepper that is a must to grow next year, jalapeno i for sure need to find a mild heat one as the one i got supper hot as they said mild so sure i grow that but weaker type jalapeno pepper , birds eye chili, Bolivian Rainbow Chili they say ornamental but chili's are still edible and pretty good, and two of bell pepper plants what producing well and peppers have thick wall on them as one bell pepper plant i not grow again. those are my plans next year what i start prob jan if not tad earlier and more than one plan each type with a few extra, i may grow Peruvian White Habanero what not tried yet or Cumari do Para 50,000 - 300,000 Scoville Units. Residing from the Cumari region of Brazil, this rare, fiery hot pepper is only the size of a pea. The Cumari has a really nice, sweet flavor but packs a lot of heat i know mine supper hot and a nutty aftertaste its that or Peruvian White Habanero i grow one those again as it a bush type so grows small in to a bush and very tiny peppers. those my list for next year with few extra but less hot
