Sarah, you bring so much sunshine to your videos because you have a personality that everyone just loves. You are very creative, and you get things done. You say sorry a lot and you make me chuckle because you remind me of me in the garden when things take a tackling to do. Well done on your compost bin, it looks fab! Thank you for being you and bringing smiles to us subscribers . You do a great job with your allotment 😊👍
The compost bin looks great. I grew up following my dad around in the garden and while he was fixing cars. I got to learn so many things and love that I can be independent, handy women unite!! I hope you enjoyed your bbq. 💕
Excellent job Sarah!! Compost has a hideous aroma lol, flowers and plants will thrive in it...and the frog will help also 😉, great work done on the compost bin as well, it's gave me an idea, thank you ❤...
Your a have a go hero Sarah. Willing to have a go at anything and you managed to make a compost bin. No real trouble at all. Well a frog wasnt trouble. He/she was great to see. The more you have, the less chance of those pesky slugs getting to eat what you plant next. (How very dare) Anyway a good froggie save and a job well done Sarah. See you next time. 👋 x
Great job Sarah! I have a vole family living in one of my bins so can't use it 😂 How lovely to see the frog 😊 If you chop up your compost bits it will rot down quicker 👍
Fantastic - definitely going to be giving this a go - it's actually easier than I thought it might be. I'll need to hunt out where to get some of those giant cable ties. Thanks Sarah!
Love this!! I've been procrastinating about building a compost bay and you've made it look so simple (even with an uneven terrain). Will get on it in the next few weeks. Thanks for the great contribution 😀
Sarah , I absolutely love watching you work in your garden, allotment! I think you can say that you are now a gardener not a novice! You are like I use to be! If you can't fix it with duck tape or a wire cloths hanger it can't be fixed! Now there are zip ties, and very good fast glue! You hang in there girl! You are doing a wonderful job and you channel is wonderful!! ❤❤❤
Good Evening our Allotment Queen and havent you had a successful year. The compost bin looks really good and im sure youll soon fill it up. Youve done a great job on it Sarah. I love watching you because you are such a positive person and when you put your mind to something you just get on and do it. Thanks for the video xxx
That's a good job done Sarah. Cut ya bits up small you put it in and it will compost down quicker. O and water it in the summer. As for staple guns, they're the bane of my life. I don't know how many I've bought and none of them work, even an electric one. ❤
Love your videos. I hope you give us an occasional allotment video during winter. When you make another compost bin, consider not lining any of it with plastic. The gaps at the sides and the soil as the base will allow air into the pile and the soil will allow worms and creepycrawlies into the composting heap which will help the whole process for you. Can you tell me where you get your energy from? I need as much as you've got! xx
Mr frogs eating all your slugs 😋. But typical when you try to rescue wildlife they don't appreciate it lol. I've had bees walking away as well as frogs
Ugh I hate my staple gun with a vengeance lol, planning to upgrade to an electric one this year. Cute frog! Great job on the compost bin 🙂 The bbq is great addition, love the communal area - such a wonderful idea. Hope the weather was kind and you had your Halloween gathering x
Sarah, seeing your face is always a blessing! And you are doing a good job on the compost bins from what I can see. One worry I have: I understand composts can become quite heated as they work...is it possible the plastic green shed behind could set fire? Just wondered...Ann (Canada)
@@annbenedek7221 t is highly unlikely that a compost heap will self-combust under any normal composting conditions due to the moisture left in the decomposing waste. In fact, most organic chemicals will only self-ignite at around 120°C and the maximum temperature most domestic compost heaps will achieve is 75°C.
@@sarahsallotmentjourneyshade cloth makes a great compost bin liner. Holds stuff in but lets air through. 🙂 Well done building it though. Pallets are so handy! 😊 Probably a good idea to put half a pallet or some boards across the front that you can move when you need to turn the compost 🙂

Don't line the bin with plastic. You need air circulation to help decomposition. Turn regularly and you'll eliminate any odors.
And add a co shovelfull of dirt across the top when you add wet stinky things. Layers and turning help compost faster.
