My first car .... parents gave it to me when I left home in Scotland to move down south (to Hemel Hempstead) .... mine was a Y plate 1.6GL (dark metallic blue) so no velour, leccy windows or trip computer - but just sitting in front of that dashboard again for a few minutes on your video was fantastic. I did over 150000 miles in that car. Brilliant memories. Given all the stupid unfixable expensive little sensor/electronic issues in modern cars , I do think a basic car like this may actually be cheaper/easier to run these days 🤔 Either way - great nostalgia - thanks for posting 🤓
Luckely on the mainland I've also a GLS from '83 with automatic gearbox next too 4 "1510" which in fact is a facelift from on the isle called earlier Chrysler "Alpine". The 1510 is in fact a Solara with an hachback really.
Interesting car but not a very good sales pitch, it's mostly based on assumptions about the buyer. Most of your points are subjective, such as being "comfortable". What if I'm 7ft tall? And points such as "more than enough power for what you need". - How do you know what I need? Maybe I want to tow a horse box! Also, you say it's easy to fix? It may be simple but parts for a 40 year old car are not in mass production and not always easy to source, so perhaps not so easy after all!
I had an identical one back in the day.Fantastic car
