Yes I started praying in tongues about two years now and it was always 1 same tongue but while I was doing a 3 days fast and all of a sudden I started praying in a new tongue I was so happy 😊 thank u god amen

Interpretation is key, you have to ask the Holy Spirit to interpret it for you and it takes a lot of learning to do. I’m still in the infancy of it but it’s really helped me get into the intimacy of prayer with God. Praise the Lord🙏
Not everyone is gifted with interpretation, the most important thing is to pray, regardless of understanding.

Praying in the spirit for self editification will never need a interpretation and cant have one because its unbiblical. Paul made a very specific destiction between praying or praising in the spirit and the gift of toungues (which is a message to the church). Paul said that the gift of tongues and interpretation is for the unbeliever as a sign not one who believes in 1st cor 14 and that scripture alone tears down the idea of this doctrin.
@@miniman1448Oh my God not again. We need to pray in tongues in our closets. That's how we communicate the mind of the holy ghost. Speaking in tongues in church is what you are talking about and it is different. Paul said instead of speaking in tongues to people in church, without an interpretation, it is better to prophesy to them to edify them.
We that are blessed with the gift of praying in tongues must do so for hours every day. We must volunteer ourselves as intercesors for the Holy Spirit.

The first time I spoke in tongues I actually didn’t remember doing it. Someone had told me or asked what language were you speaking earlier? I was 12. The next time that I would speak in tongues I was in my early thirties; I remember being afraid of what was coming out of my mouth not being able to control it. It didn’t sound like gibberish, but an actual language. Since then I’ve only spoken in tongues five other times. I’m now 50. When it happen for you don’t be afraid and let it happen.
It’s the singing in tongues for me; I never heard anything so pretty 🥹💜🙏🏾I’m very thankful for this gift from God. Sometimes I question what I’m saying but I trust Him.

You all need to read 1 Corinthians 12. The Holy Spirit gives everyone different gifts. Not everyone speaks in tongues. Don't feel bad if you don't. God has gifted you each in a way that edifies others.

I have found that the Holy Spirit begins to use me to sing in tongues over people when I'm praying for them. I feel the power of God when I do this. Praise Jesus!!!

Seek understanding and edification or you aren't really doing anything but making yourself feel good. Please see how this practice is nonsensical. God gives us wisdom in the spirit not "tongues"

To anyone curious(hope this will be of good guidance and encouragement):
Tongues = you will speak clear sentences. When you first receive the gift, you speak a word or 2 just like our earthly language. You have to spend time speaking in tongues before you can grow in this gift. I was blessed to have friend who was very hungry for God's presence. He'd pray for 3-4 hrs every Saturday. I managed to stay with him for 1-1/2 hrs. That's when my tongues went from 2 words to fluent language. Since then the language/sentences has changed several times. I don't remember (can't recall) what I spoke a few years ago.
When you go through tough times and you're desperate for help, in that brokenness ask the Holy Spirit to pray for you. You will speak something totally new whic proceeds a breakthrough(happened to me 3 times).
A tip- everytime you speak in tongues be sincere and focused, eyes closed and with an expectant heart just like you did when you first received the gift.

The "one tongue and different meaning each time". I'll be honest the LORD gave me twice. The first one I doubted and over time I can't remember, I felt bad and prayed again and received different phrases in tongues. I asked why am I repeating the same phrase. What I felt was what b ever The Lord gave you, be faithful and pray it. I thought to myself I'm just repeating the same thing. But what I felt in the spirit was that the meaning for these tongues though it sounded the same was actually different. Even though I might be repeating the same phrases again and again, it is actually coded and the Lord is hearing much different. I'm saying, or rather speaking in many phrases, or paragraphs that the Holy spirit is speaking to the father. So even if you have just a few words, be faithful and speak it. Ask the lord to fill you and give you more. And over time he will start adding more to you.

Sometimes the phrases are just praise and those are repetitive. Sometimes they are more but one thing about it is you're not choosing to repeat something. Tongues comes from the holy Ghost not from you. I know someone who wrote down what she felt God gave her as her tongues and she would read it out loud as her prayer. That's not how it works. If you have memorized your tongues then listen to this young man and pray for spontaneous experience. But remember You can pray for a new experience but it won't happen if you're focused on the experience It will only happen if you're focused on God and praising and worshiping him. You can't pray for tongues and tongues come, tongues come when you have your mind on God and he speaks through you. I am currently seeking a refreshing so I'm not judging anyone who is doing this I'm just wanting to help with understanding. Blessings!

@@MssWinnie Yes just focus on God and loving him because he wants you to have it He's not holding it back and don't worry about tongues It will come. It does help to be in an atmosphere of worship but you know the story we've all heard of somebody getting it doing the dishes and I really have one of my old neighbors did that when she first come to God. Just let yourself soak in loving him and it's going to come. I'm praying for you
@@carda5967thank you so much. This makes a lot of sense to me. I have only spoken WHEN I’ve been lost in worship or focused only on praying and praising God. I can’t just make it happen out of the blue like the way we start talking in a normal conversation. It has only happened when I felt deeply moved by the Spirit in me. Does this make sense?
But I have many friends who do speak in tongues as easily as they can speak a prayer in English they can pray in tongues. I haven’t been able to do that.

Also 1 Corinthians 14:27-28 says we need a n interpreter to tell us what peoples who speak in tongues are saying so that we can understand them. Otherwise they are to remain silent. Gods word is the directions for us to go by.

My question is this whenever that I'm praying I used to see something like a crowd something like a cloud that the colour is red and the cloud will cover the same weather and I asked some people and they said it is danger
When the disciples spoke in tongues on the day of penecost ,it was in the foreigners languages so that they could understand what they were hearing the disciples preaching Acts 2 about.
The bigining always feels like you are out of your mind 😂 but when consistent even the tongues began to make sense … you start pronouncing it with more dignity and prestige 😹.. Waah God s really mysterious.. praise him 🙏🙏

That the Spirit makes intersessions for us does not mean we speak in tongues. If you dont know what to pray for you simply dont pray at all. The spirit gives the gift and it must be a real language that ought to be interpreted, not a baby language nobody understands. Praying must be both according to the spirit and your mind...that is understanding.

Right, tongues means language(s), which means not all, but SOMEONE(s) will be able to understand what is being prayed/spoken. When one groans, that means they are sighing, which cannot be uttered/spoken. Groanings are noises that are made when we are displeased, upset, annoyed, sad, frustrated etc. and the Spirit understands them because these “groanings” are too deep and cannot be expressed in words (language/tongues). Groanings are not to be mistaken as spoken words or tongues!

Hi I think I was just praying in tongues this evening and I’ve never done that before and I don’t even know what happened. I had seen videos about tongues, I also have a friend who does it. I had been curious about it but never understood how its done. I was desperately praying this evening and I felt like giving up but then I started to speak not in English but just said a string of what would sound like babble and I spoke it faster and then I got freaked out and stopped. I was kind of feeling afraid because I didn’t know what was going on. But then I started to pray in English “Lord Jesus please show me how to love like you love, pray how you pray, serve how you serve” and I started to feel peace. Then I was feeling a soft flame in my heart. I could also feel myself heat up as I was praying in the babbling. I’m new to this too, I just became Christian at the end of August
I am not trying to be ugly when I say this, but you have to be devoted and saved. Speaking in tongues after watching how to do it you may think you are but I can assure you God don't give his gift out that fast. We had a few weeks of Bible Study on this. It is not given by God to just anyone.

Continue to ask God to give you your prayer language, in due time He will give it to you. It will happen when you are not expecting.

@@julietsoty9367 He will give it to you, I watched a video during a live air where the host prayed for us and walked us into it by relaxing our spirits, not to think of anything but open yourself up to receive, then he said start making any sound, e.g vowels and any alphabets, then all of a sudden, out of my belly flew rivers of living water. I use the gift every day. It’s the best thing to have happened to me. I didn’t know how and what to pray. Continue praying, he will bring a video for you to watch that will activate it for you or someone in your walk of life who will activate it for you. Include it in your prayer requests and write it down.

TONGUES are languages only God understands however we should pray for interpretation of tongues. Paul said tongues editfies the person. And that is for unbelievers. Prophesying is for believers. Read the book of Acts.

The *REAL* and *EASIEST* way to find out is asking yourself this question: Do you understand what you're blabbering?
Because 100% of the time it's just blabbering nonsense...which is supposed to be a conversation with God which YOU need to understand first in order for the other person to understand you. This is how a conversation works. If you yourself don't understand those "yélé shaka bababa lalaa" than for *sure* God doesn't understand it too.
It's supposed to sound gibberish to others, not to your own ears. It's as if hearing two people speaking a language you don't understand and than you get a translation afterwards.
Don't be deceived Christians, when reading the Bible ask God to help you understand.
And also it's all based on BELIEVE too Mark 16:15-end made this clear, the signs will follow those who believe
