The key is to be led by the Spirit. I've prayed for 23 hours straight, but literally ONLY because the Lord didn't let me stop. There are times I've interceded for someone just crying for like an hour and then the Lord revealed who I was crying for. So follow God's Spirit in everything ❤

For those wondering more about the benefits and purpose of tongues I will say this: in my experience, you can feel the spiritual fire of God when you pray in tongues and it cleanses you from the heaviness of the world. Drives out anxiety and depression and breaks addictions and fills you with the love of God and the joy of the Lord.
How do you know that’s from God? What evidence do you have that whatever you are speaking is from God and for what purpose would God need a secret language with you if you don’t understand what you are speaking with those tongues ?

Maybe God knows something you don't know and by chance the people you've been praying with one minute could be talking about you're down fall in another room the next minute so he equips each of his children with a language only he knows that way you not only get to protect your prayers from those wishing to diminish them, your prayers also edify your spirit and could even be used to pray for other people you wouldn't think to pray about otherwise. 😊@nellipalchevskaya2680

I had been a believer for 7 years or so and I didn't understand speaking in tongues. I wasn't sure what it was and whether it was real. I prayed about it to the Lord and asked Him, something along the lines of, "Lord, if this is from You and it's a gift that You want me to have then please show me." A few months later (this was in 2014) I woke up one night at 2am and started speaking in tongues spontaneously and easily. I have had the ability to do since that time.

Hallelujah!!! Yes it is true!! I came from a church that did not allow the Holy Spirit to move freely, so I had doubts too. But one day it came to me, and I know now that it was the Holy Spirit, but asked, If I had been living the Holy-Spirit-Less all my life up until this point, Why don't I just Surrender it all NOW and Believe in Faith (according to the scriptures) and see what happens next in my life!???
That was in early 2022 and let me tell you..... Hallelujah!!! The same thing happened to me, Spontaneous praise, prayer & worship in tongues in the Middle of the Night, too! No flesh prompted me, it was my prayer life and full desire for more of the Holy Spirit! People ask, "how do you know if its of God?" Because I can still lift up the name of Jesus, worship him and I know and confess that he came to this earth, in the Flesh and died & on the Third Day He resurrected and now seated at the Right hand of God!" All glory to King Jesus!! THAT'S how I know its from the True and Living God Most High! The devil will not and could NOT say all that and believe it!
Remember folks, Jesus got blamed that he cast out demons in the name of Beelzebub (Matt 12:24) because people were trapped in Religion (man's religion). Jesus was crucified for his claims, being the Son of God! Which is true! Yet many today, accuse Spirit-Filled Christians of not being of God because the Holy Spirit moves in us.
Things of the Spirit, do not make sense to the logical mind of man. We are Spirit Beings and the flesh will pass, as it does NOT inherit heaven (1 COR 15:50). So, begin living in your eternal Being Now! In The Spirit!
Ezekiel saw things that the logical mind of man could not accept.
Paul saw the Third Heaven of things he could not dare speak of.
John in Revelation saw visions beyond the natural man's comprehension.... I pray that folks Stop allowing LOGICAL thinking to Kill the Spirit-filled life, in Jesus name!
God gave me this gift at a very young age, 14. I use to question it after I got saved at , 12. Is tongues from God? Is it real? Then one day I felt sudden fire over me and my mouth saying hallelujah and then the hallelujah turned into a different language. I am 33 today, I do not pray in tongues often but I realize when I do, a shift happens in the spiritual realm. I feel mountain moving and deliverance breaking through. I always end up crying 😭 but God always gives me a word after
Ur testimony is almost identical to how I started speaking in tongue. I thought I was dreaming but sat up(awake) and continued speaking in tongue in the middle of the nite. It was sooo peaceful! I was just about 6 months in with the Lord and was unsure if I believed the whole speaking in tongues thing until it happened to me and was undeniable at that point.
For me, I'm a believer 46 years later because I was spontaneously baptised in tongues by the Holy Spirit 4 months after being saved. His love and wisdom grew with a hunger for the word. If it had to be led by Bible reading alone I do not think I'd still be following Jesus. We are spiritual beings having an earthly experience; don't get confused about His power and love.

Africans pray in tongues because we understand something that many european Christians don't. We have profound biblical insight, which is why speaking in tongues is significant to us-not because we lack access to resources. We have bookstores everywhere and an abundance of Bible books. We also have local apps that deliver books the same day. In addition, we have numerous Bible schools and thousands of sermons from African preachers available on social media, teaching us the pure, undiluted word of God. It's this wealth of biblical knowledge that drives us to speak in tongues. We do it more than others, not because we have nothing else, but because we have a deep, comprehensive understanding of scripture. True scriptures emphasize the importance of speaking in tongues and that's what we follow.

I'm from Nigeria so hearing that people dont really "value" the gift over there was so strange🤣🤣. Ill share my story: I used to hate the gift of speaking in tongues because everybody could do it and I couldn't and then I started wanting it for the wrong motives which was to prove myself in some way. And I felt God tell me it wasn't gonna happen until He worked on my heart so eventually I left the issue and I started speaking in tongues on a day and time I never thought possible. In my bedroom on my bed🤣🤣🤣 some few minutes after I stoppee watching a Christian drama. The point Im trying to make is that some people get robbed of so many spiritual blessings because they fail to understand the simplicity of God!! I always thought I had to start speaking in tongues in the most dramatic of ways but I guess God had other plans. Glory to God in the highest!!! Hallelujah oo

This video was for me! I've been Christian pretty much my whole life and have been in ministry for over 15 years and I don't have the gift of speaking in tongues. I never really thought I needed it, I always thought it was just amazing and only a gift. I never had the urge to pray for them but now my mind has shifted and I need too! I first started hearing it in my head and then I told God I receive it. It was in the middle of the night. I felt the Holy Spirit quicken me and I sat up in my bed. I started uttering with my tongue. Then the uttering turned into speaking in tongues. Since then, I have spoken in tongues and bodly spoke in tongues the following Sunday, while I was at church. This is truly a supernatural testimony. Speaking in tongues is powerful! I feel like it's more powerful than my prayers in English❤❤

@@stephlon6757 Hello, I believe I can pray while doing other things. I agree it is very important to have set aside time with the Lord, however I am not talking about that here. By praying in tongues, we can communicate with God and also build up our spirits.
For example, this can be anywhere, at work, at the grocery store.. no matter where you are.
However, it is important to pray during set aside time, yet this is not what I was addressing.
We should not stop praying when we are doing other things. I sit in my school classes sometimes and pray in tongues, and I believe that is better than sitting in class and not praying.
We should have set apart time with the Lord, however it is important that we commune with Him all the time, including while doing other activities He may call us to do.

I’ve been in my walk with Christ for going on 4 weeks. I spoke in tongues 2 nights ago and I can ASSURE you, I felt so free and understood. Even though I did not understand, it felt as if the Holy Spirit and God understood what I was saying.
Speaking in tongues doesn’t feel forceful, it came out of no where. It was a beautiful experience, very intimate.
Thank you God, Thank you Holy Spirit, and Thank you Jesus for this experience.

I'm an old believer, 67 years old and 46 years saved. I do pray in tongues, but I got slack in my prayer life. Thank you for this video cause it got me pumped to pray more in tongues. I also have a youg 21 year staying with me for a few days. She does pray in tongues but she said she does not use it much. I'm going g to show her this video and encourage her to use her prayer language! Thank you guys so much!!!
What do you mean she doesn’t “use it much”? Was it stored somewhere in her pocket or laptop? If you’re an old believer then perhaps you should start from the beginning again. And I mean you well by saying this. Who interprets your prayer when you speak in tongues? What’s the message? What’s the whole purpose of speaking in tongues and where does it even come from?

I was on a prayer drive my church held in 2020. My Mom was driving, and her and I prayed over the community as we drove by houses.
I had the window down and my hand out as I prayed over homes. I was praying under my breath and all of a sudden I was getting words of knowledge to pray over a house!! Also, all of a sudden while I was praying, I heard sounds in my head, and I repeated them. Then I believe heard more and repeated them… I was praying in tongues!! ❤️ This was my first time praying in tongues that I remember. 💛 This was under my breath just after praying in my native language on a prayer drive!!!
I am so happy I got it. I remember REALLY desiring to pray in tongues around 2015-2017 after learning about how powerful praying in tongues can be!! I am so happy the LORD blessed me with this good gift, and He is willing to enable all of His children to pray in tongues!!!

I watched a sermon by Rev Richard Roberts earlier this week on TH-cam. He advised praying in tongues and immediately following up with praying in English (or your natural language) with the first word that comes out of your mouth - meaning you actually pray in tongues every time you pray! You just keep switching between the two. When I tried it that night, I was blown away! My prayer for the body of Christ was literally with tears and groaning - very unusual from how I usually pray for the Church

It’s so awesome to hear you young people talking about praying in tongues. I am 70 years old and have been praying and tongue since I was 19 years old. I’ve just aggressively been praying in tongues for the last year and God is revealing the word to me like never before. A couple months ago he showed me in prayer who I was and him and how much potential there was. A couple days later I was reading a book about near death experiences and the first person that many people said they met when they went to heaven was themselves. It is so awesome to be able to pray and tongues and entering into God‘s presence. It’s the next thing to go into heaven because you’re in his presence and where the presence of the Lord is there is liberty. I could go on and on, but I won’t. God bless all you young people. I am 70 years old, but I’m just getting started because of prayer is so exciting. I’m finally realizing who I really am and who he really is in me.
We are living in Ohio. Speaking in Tongues can heal your souls by the Holy Spirit (Love, Joy Peace....). I got a panic attack and nervous break down when my the oldest brother passed away due to the car accident at Washington D.C. when I was 14 years old. I had to start to take tones of antidepressants until 35 years old. I started to speak in tongues more a half hour or one hour since 35 years old. The Holy Sprit has delivered my nervous break down and the tones of antidepressants for 29 years until now. Thank you Jesus for the Holy Spirit!

.. i wento a chirch retreat and the pastor ask those who want to receive the the gift of speaking of tongues come to the alter ....as i struggled with the decision because i felt God would not certainly give that gift to me...... i stsyed in my seat as others walked up with hands up being prayed for....
I ended up walking up to the alter as i reached the alter with my hands down all i remember is falling ...no one touched me... i was baptized by my father slain im spirit speakimg in tongues for hours... no one touched or prayed for me....
Thats how i know the power of God is real.....
You can be anywhere and by faith you can have a one on one supernatural encounter......

speaking with tongues like they paint it is super unbiblical. The Bible clearly states that speaking with tongues just means that you can speak a language that you couldn’t before the Holy Spirit gave you this ability.. for ex. you never spoke spanish but once the Holy Spirit gave u that ability you could. And btw this is not possible for us today!! These were miracles done in the new Testament.

Yes this is true, however, tongues is the only gift of the Spirit that is promised. In Mark 16 Jesus clearly says to those that beleive

This is a promise.

I got the gift of tongues one night randomly as I watched a Derek Prince video. I've had a dream of praying in tongues and watching a demonic spirit disintegrate as I continued to pray. Also I've prayed for hours when in warfare and you feel the breakthrough. When I didn't know what to pray for someone ex my children...the Lord said pray for each for 5 min in the Spirit. I can then see God work in their lives. I see the prayer work even though as scripture says, my mind is unfruitful. Praise God!
I live in Jamaica and yes, speaking in tongues is getting a beating in our churches. I grew up with a mom who was always speaking in tongues. It is really the power of God unto salvation. I speak in tongues a lot, I am not afraid or ashamed. I receive boldness for service, I see and hear beyond what is ordinary and I have experienced many been delivered because of this empowerment. Greetings brethren 😊 I am a student of linguistics and I’ve been fascinated by the study of language and how it actually operates. I’m a Christian and I’ve spoken in tongues since I’ve got saved back in 1993. I ve been intrigued by the speaking of tongues but I never heard too many pastors elaborate on thr subject so when you dint understand something , naturally you dint really practice it . Well since I’ve been studying linguistics and the correlation of speaking in tongues I’m coming to the conclusion that the power of life and death are in the power of the tongue. I believe Speaking in tongues literally opens up portals or avenues in our brain receptor’s that effects our human experience . We actually communicate and interact with the God of the universe that empowers us to become super human on earth. If you see the x-ray scan that your tongue does when speaking English which is the hardest language to speak btw, you would see the tongue move in your mouth in a way that’s almost like a human Morse code tapping the top parts of your oral cavity. If those parts of your mouth would light up to highlight those parts it would look like flashing lights in your mouth . So basically when we are speaking in tongues , the activity and energy that taking place in our mouths is nothing short of heavenly 🔥( tongues of fire) the language of God. Blessings 🙏🏼

you can’t logically understand spiritual things. It’s a spiritual experience. It’s a way to talk to God that the enemy cannot understand. It’s edifying to the spirit, your spirit, it connects you deeper with God. It’s hard to explain if you have experienced this beautiful way of talking to and worshipping God and it’s also hard for those who have never experienced it to understand it. Also I’ll add that it’s okay if you don’t speak or pray in tongues when talking to God. What they are referencing is for your intimate time with God. Again if you don’t speak in tongues is okay it doesn’t mean you are not saved. All I can say is ask God yourself. Sincerely ask the Holy Spirit to let you experience what it is to speak in tongues so that you will know what it is yourself instead of trying to understand someone else’s experience. You can go to HIM directly ♥️

Spiritually Fit and Miracle Minded... was what one of you said... that really grabbed me. When David Wilkerson ( The Cross and the Switchblade) was helping addicts get clean, those who prayed in tongues stayed clean compared to the 10% who didn't. Many great truths in Gods' Word are not attested to by a statement, but by examples.
One frequent way is what is known as The Law Of Repetition. According to this scriptural Law ,the Word will repeat something said and/ or an event three times in order to:
1) Direct our attention to an important spiritual truth.
2) To set a precedent so that the same circumstance need not be repeated in as much detail elsewhere in scripture that it occurs.
There are only three occurrences in scripture to where we are told of believers recieving the Holy Spirit and what occured the moment that it happened( Acts ch.2,10,and ch. 10).
In each case ,the moment the believers recieved the Holy Spirit they began to speak in tongues.
I have been putting off to watch this video, but today I decide to watch today as I have been inconsistent in spending time in the presence of God everyday. . May the Lord continue using all of your, you have really challenged me.

Yes .. Hallelujah, my appetites have changed when the holyspirit started to take control of my life fully, to be consistent in prayer, everything that I used to do when I got bored have been replaced supernaturally for praying in tongues for hours and always Jesus, like crazy, and I want to continue more and never stop till He comes or I reach my heavenly abode. ❤️..please pray for me that I never stumble, and that we all children of God be vigilant, for the enem6 walks like a roaring g lion seeking whom he .ay devour. Am in Africa In my church we speak less with our intelligence and most of the time we pray in tongues, we pray a lot in tongues even my 3 years boy the only prayer he knows it praying in tongues and declaration of the word of God.
Like we can have a program at church for only praying in tongues for 8h or 4h per day.
We believe in praying in tongues coz it’s helps building your spirit man too and it’s great for healing when you sick

That’s what I did. Then i started trying to do it in faith. At first, I kinda made up a few words like you do when you’re a kid, and after just 10 seconds or so of doing that, the spirit took over and I started speaking in tongues. I was speaking different languages but for some people it may be a few syllables at first.
That’s just one way. My friend just walked into her apartment and felt a wind pass by her and she started speaking in tongues suddenly.
Other times, a person can speak in tongues next to you and you can try it then if you’re comfortable with that. Let us know!
Absolutely, ask the Lord to fill you and baptise you with the Holy Spirit, as you continue to pray, the tongues will come.

I just recently learned that I can spend time with God and not look for him because he already is there, and in me, in my presence, and he gets to enjoy my presence as well. I'm learning to just show up and that being still and just being with him everyday without trying to overcomlicating it too much is ok. I love building this new found loveand relationship. I have seen the Holy Spirit move very powerfully during a church service and I saw the spirit of God fill the service and bring change when I prayed in tongues.

Praying to receive the gift of tongues one day soon. I've been earnestly spending time and seeking the Lord daily, asking to receive a spiritual gift(s) for the past few years.
Just start talking to the Lord, it will come. You are in control of your own mouth and breath, you choose to start moving your mouth muscles, the Holy Spirit gives the words.
Nothing happened when I was expecting the Holy Spirit to 'over take' by doing the physical mouth moving for me.
Make a start, by faith, believe you have received what you asked for (the gift of tongues) and start speaking, a spiritual word/words/phrase/speech unknown to you will come.

Praying in the spirit is more than speaking in tongues, you can pray in the spirit without tongues. Many mix the two up but really great video! Tongues is the language of God, and it stirs up your spirit and is how we communicate with God
I prayed in tongues and was healed from migraines and spirit of immorality running in my bloodline....
And I do it even when walking the streets of Cologne, Germany and the Lord has given me a love for Germans....but I also see the "spiritual bondage" that has held them back for hundreds of years....

I always prayed in tongues in my dreams before it actually happened in my waking life.
One night, i woke up and felt the urge to ask God to give me a way to speak to him in a way that only He can understand. Especially because at the time, i felt certain spirits always monitored my prayer life,and it was uncomfortable to bear. So upon my request, God immediately poured his spirit on me, and i began praying in tongues from that night.

It is such a blessing to have spirit filled friends and who are also on fire for God 🔥🔥 something which is rare today. I was extremely blessed by this video and my prayer is that God may connect me with such kind of friends who truly will put you on your toes when it comes to God and matters of the spirit. I've just been praying in tounges for about an hour. I still feel the presence of the Holy Spirit very strongly. I started because of an issue at work that grieves me. I had a grieving heaviness on my heart. I started praying, and Jesus made me laugh with a vision of the finished result of the job.
I had lots of names of family come up, that I prayed for in the spirit too. At the end of the prayer time, I had a vision of lots of eyes looking at me. Blue eyes, not warm but not unpleasant either. Not human though, kind of cat like. Other eyes with long lashes, just lots of different ones, different colours. I have not had revelation of what they were and what it means.
Edit: now half an hour or so later standing under the shower I kept praying and had another vision of a black angel or even the devil standing at the far distance against a lighter background. Not so pleasant. I guess he has become aware of my praying.
I still feel the Holy Spirit around me and anything that usually would cause a stress response still keeps me feel carried and held.

I've been struggling so much and not spending time with the Lord and he was Loud and clear! And listening back this morning, she talks about social media distractions. I went from skim though the bible to studying it incessantly and instead of dry prayers, I truly enjoyed praying. It truly is a deception of the devil to cause us to lean on our own understanding rather than to trust what the scripture says.
Lord Jesus you keep me encouraged please hear my prayers being a single mother with two special needs children is overwhelming and challenging. I’m desperately trying to provide for them. Lord give me strength as I continue to struggle to buy groceries and as I struggle to pay bills. I keep faith because I know God will change my situation. Faith over fear! ❤️💕

I always start seeking the Lord for the Holy Spirit and give up. I remember tarrying for the Holy Spirit as a little girl, literally everyone got it but me and I was so discouraged. I pray that my faith and humility increases so God will bless me with the gift.
