    I was born in 1966..Jeans are my second skin..I've been through all brands TOP Levi's...
    In the beginning, DIESEL jeans were also unbeatable in terms of quality..(after that expensive scrap)
    I just bought myself a second pair of Nudie Jeans and I'm just COMPLETELY thrilled..it doesn't get BETTER..I've been wearing my Steady Eddie (Ace Selvage) for a year and a half (not every day, so I'll give them time)
    I will wash them in the sea water of Mallorca (without detergent, of course, only sea water and hope that this will not cause fish to die

    Be sure to *NOT* wash a white shirt (or light colored clothing) right after washing your dry denim jeans for the first and second time. They will come out blue otherwise!! Using public washing machines for this is nog very kind to the next client/person that comes right after you washed your jeans... Something to keep in mind.

    And after the first wash, when does a second wash come? Or is there no effect to further washing after that?

    • @nudiejeans

      Repeat this same washing process at very least for the first 2 washes. After that, the "bad wash effects" we allude to become less of an issue.

    I just bought a new pair of Nudie raw denim, from a guy and I want to give them a wash. Should I do it or just wear them? I really don't know where they have been sitting plus I always wash my second hand items, no matter if they are new or not. I think to soak them in a cool water with a bit of Ariel or Persil and that's it. Hope I won't ruin them. Let me know what you think!!!
    Cheers.

    • @vm1997
      @vm1997 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If they are new, don’t try to wash them. Just wear them für 4-6 months an after get, give them a wash. But if you feel uncomfortable to wear them, without washing it first, then give them a soft wash in the tub

    What are the 'bad wash effects' ? I'm guessing bleaching, shrinking or no real wear marks showing up?

    • @AWMI
      @AWMI 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lisa Sharp you end up with fading created by folding and creases within the washing machine along with a overall loss of colour. Bad washing, combined with early washing can really ruin a pair of raw denim jeans

    • @nudiejeans
      @nudiejeans  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AWMI has been kind enough to hop in and explain for you. Also, leaving them in the washing machine after a the cycle has finished can result in what is know as the "snakeskin effect" which is effectively creasing in the denim that creates lighter lines when dry.

    After ventilate your jeans in fresh air for 1 - 2 weeks your jeans is "clean". Best way to wash you denim ;-)

    When I air dry them, should they still be inside out, like when I washed them, or should they be like they would be when I wear them?

    • @mg2380

      I don't think it's matters. But I always dry mine as I would wear them.

    • @nudiejeans
      @nudiejeans  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question! But Max is right, it doesn't really make a difference to your overall wash process other than one small detail. You jeans will generally dry quicker inside out as the pocket lining tends to take longest to dry.

    Do I dry the, in the sun or hang in bathroom

    • @marcusaurelius9915
      @marcusaurelius9915 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sun can fade any clothing, but especially natural dye like the indigo that is used for denim. If you have no other place but in the sun to dry them, make sure the jeans are turned inside out.
      I dry my jeans out of the sun, inside out first so the the pocket bags and seams fully dry. Then I turn them outside out, and finish drying if there is anything still a little damp.
      In Winter, I dry the same way, but hang them up in the warmest room of the house.

      dry means that after dyeing it was no longer washed in the factory because the denim fabric is very stable, it gets your personal fading through the 6 month registration
