    Dear Guys, I've been watching your channel and I love some of the stuff you guys do - they answer so many questions people have about cars ! I've been dreaming for a few years of doing the following: Take 4wd truck (I'm in Canada, so I'm thinking of a pickup truck, but a Van would be even better, if possible). The problem I have with existing trucks is that their beds are way too high ! What if you wanted to put a heavy object in there? You have to lift it about 3' into the air just to get it on to the bed. I want to remove the rear axle and put a dropped trailer axle on the rear, and also modify the frame so that the rear bed is only about 10" off the ground. This will allow so many good uses of the vehicle ! Also, a lot more volume of cargo can be carried if there was a cargo box placed on this as well, and it would be so easy to step into the rear of such a vehicle. Either hub motors must be used on the rear, or a front drive system must be used. With a 4wd donor vehicle, you can remove the propshaft and the rear axle and just run it on the front drive system. I'll be thrilled if this idea makes it into one of your videos, but unlike some other projects, this might actually be a useful one (So I can understand if you don't want to do it haha). All the best from Canada !

    • @DualKalibur
      @DualKalibur 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s lots of lowrider trucks out there. And honestly not a fan of them. Lift kits are popular on trucks for reasons more than looks. You fit larger tires and have more clearance going over things. Lowering a truck reduces its usefulness for most of us. If you REALLY want a lower bed on your truck, look into hydraulic systems and lower it when needed for loading and return to ride height after. Or just use a ramp to load the bed like the rest of us...

      @DemitriousWolf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      good idea tho

    • @DualKalibur
      @DualKalibur 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This would require a custom grind camshaft to open the valves differently than intended, a custom crankshaft to move the pistons in unison, and sadly run very badly. You’d have one big power stroke, and then 3 energy stealing strokes, causing the torque curve of the engine to be a very large peak and then a huge drop off to negative torque. Fun fact, your single piston lawnmower has way more torque than you realize on its combustion stroke, and then goes through what I’ve just described. It’s average is lower but it’s instantaneous torque is immense.
