Fantastic video guys. Really well done 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Just shows you don’t need the finest gear and a GS to have a great time. Just your favourite bikes and great company! 👍🏾👍🏾

I like the pace you’re travelling at, so many people seem to think that there’s no choice but to rush through France on the autoroutes. Their loss. Bonne Route.

This is exactly the way I am used to travel for quite some years. Stay away from motorways and federal roads. Small places to stay at are a must. I just returned from a tour - 5 days only - with my brothers and planning already for the next trip. Greetings from Northern Germany.

Great vid man! Did a super similar trip to this in March was such a good trip. Can't wait to do it on my GT 650 now, maybe end of summer vibes!

Thank you for posting this. It looks like a ton of fun. I'm actually considering getting my first motorcycle (if I can convince The Lady). I really love the cafe racer styling, so I was looking at the Royal Enfield 650 continental, but I wasn't sure if it'd be comfortable for longer rides.

Hi Michael, glad you enjoyed the video, I’m sure you will love the Royal Enfield 650, The interceptor could perhaps be something to consider also if you’re planning longer rides. Although for my height (177 cm) and riding style the continental GT is a great traveling companion! 🏍

    Beautiful video.
Quick question, how did you find the comfort of the GT for touring?
    Were the handlebars position ok?

Great Video!! Thanks again for sharing your adventure. Great that you say how much it costs for a night we've been curious what it would be if we were ever able to do a tour similar to yours.

Touring was the only thing that made me not instantly buy the continental and look for the interceptor… Now I’m even more undecided

What was the name of the first hotel in France?

Very nice. I've driven and cycled in France a lot over the past 22-3 years but only once been there on a motorbike. However I may be getting a Continental GT this year, so you never know.

Thank you Leigh, Where is your favourite road in France? Would definitely love to go back and explore more of French sceneries.

@@theoceanpilot My favourite route on a bicycle was cirque du troumouse and col du tourmalet in the Pyrenees. Both wouldn't take long on a motorbike but still fantastic and there's absolutely loads of other roads in that area that you could stretch a ride out. I also did a great route up Alpe d'huez and then onto Col de Croix de Fer and eventually finishing at Montvernier in the Alps but again it could be easily stretched out to make a great motorcycle route. I also went to the south coast on a motorcycle via Gap (in the Alps) and ending up in Monaco and San Tropez but that was a long time ago. I'm just getting back to motorcycling this year after a long break.

I want to get the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 as a first bike. I’m 18 167cm. And wondering if it’s a good first bike and if I should do a 5900km trip from Long Beach California to Halifax Nova Scotia. I could get the interceptor but I do like the look of the GT since it’s got the Cafe Racer look over the interceptors cursor look.

    • @theoceanpilot
      @theoceanpilot  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, it seems like we are similar heights and personally I find the GT comfortable enough for long distance traveling. Although the interceptor will be slightly more comfortable with its more upright riding position. Perhaps try to test ride both bikes and see which one suits your riding style. Either of them would be a great bike to gain riding experience and have plenty of fun! Ride safe 🙏🏍

@@theoceanpilot Thank you for the info. I’ll definitely test ride both to see witch one fit my needs best. Awesome videos keep it up

Is it easy enough to get into France from the uk these days, like do you need a certificate that you've tested negative and have to show all you paperwork to do with your bike. Also do you book your accommodation before or while you are in france?
