Yeah! There is so much scope of improvement. I think next step would be to enable this interaction for speech… like imagine having such conversations with Siri (it’s far behind… still) and Google Assistant on your phone!
It can already process a video, it won’t be a stretch to imagine it watching your live camera feed and commenting on it making it feel like you’re having a video call with someone and asking them questions.

The historical bias in favor of Google and against Bing causes a lot of people to be dismissive of Bing Chat until they actually try it. I think MKBHD did a good job of remaining fair and objective in a comparison that's inherently partially subjective.
Copious reference links is definitely a huge advantage for Bing Chat. Especially considering we need to double-check everything AI chats say. When using Bard, checking references currently requires a LOT more manual research on your part. For another example where ChatGPT-powered Bing is significantly ahead (for now), ask Bing and Bard to put results (e.g. a list of products with specs and prices) in tabular format.
I said "ahead (for now)" because, as Marques points out, this tech is evolving rapidly. It's obvious that Bing Chat and Bard are improving almost daily. I'm glad to see these competitors lighting a fire under each others feet.

Here are some of my thoughts on the video:
I thought it was great that Marques Brownlee compared the two AI assistants in a head-to-head battle. This allowed us to see how they performed in different tasks and to get a sense of their strengths and weaknesses.
I was impressed by the level of competition between the two AI assistants. Google Bard was the clear winner in terms of features and functionality, but Bing AI was not far behind. This shows that the AI assistant market is very competitive, and that the companies are constantly working to improve their products.
I think it's great that we have so many different AI assistants to choose from. This allows us to find the one that best suits our needs and preferences.
I'm excited to see how the AI assistant market continues to evolve in the future. I think we can expect to see even more features and functionality from the different AI assistants, as well as more integration with other devices and services.
Overall, I thought the video was very well-made and informative. I would definitely recommend watching it if you're interested in AI or the future of technology.

I am a computer engineer, and to add to GPT's performance (on wich is based Bing), I have to say it is very impressive.
The example you gave, despite being very basic (it could be done by GPT3 several years ago in it's early form), is already showing.
But where I find the model very helpfull and impressive is when it is able to give me answers and ideas for very situational codes or technologies.
It is very capable in every coding language I know, even the less comon ones, and it often gives me answers I can't find (or even search correctly sometimes...) on traditional search engines.
It can be (and often is) wrong when asked to realise complex algorithm, however, even in these demanding cases, it gives a plausible answer, giving a very good base I can improve on, with variable instanciations, code structure, good synthaxe etc. It gives the right answer at best, and is a huge time saver at worst, wich is incredibly usefull.

Yeah, the integration of GPT with Bing has been great for technical stuff. I had to connect to a Chinese ERP's API recently, which heavily works with 3rd party integrators, and doesn't have much documentation for customers to use it (which is our use case). I had to tweak the prompts a little, preloading context with things like "X is a Chinese ERP system. How can I use their API to Y", but it was finding reference documents, code samples, and even some DLLs integrators had accidentally uploaded to Github.
This is stuff I had been searching for and unable to find in traditional search engines and Bing Chat had no issue; even understanding and finding Github repos that were completely written in Chinese with random names. Even when it stumbles, a simple follow up of "That looks like it's for A, I need info on B" or "Can you give more detail on C?" has generally gotten it back in line.

When they split Bing into creative, balanced, and precise, I was just using balanced by default without even thinking about it and started to think that the quality had deteriorated quite a bit. But when I switched to creative, it was great again. Not just the response quality, but with creative mode, I see the queries it searches for through Bing search index is also different. With balanced, it basically searches for whatever you put in the prompt, but in creative mode, it actually tries to understand the meaning behind the prompt and does one or more queries that I feel are more meaningful, and therefore gets better information to summarize in its answer.

My use case for AI is metaphysics and so the creative discourse process is critical for me. Bing and GPT 4 are so good, it can be like you are talking to someone despite it being just a language model. The responses are creative, challenging and robust. When it makes an error, you can show it the error and it learns. It can then intelligently respond based on its updated knowledge.
Bard on the other hand, never leaves me feeling I am talking to a 'someone'. At best, it's like talking to a convincing chatbot. It doesn't appear to have a personality or distinctive style. Any probing for something deeper will result in a very dissatisfying and flat experience or it's dull lament that it's a humble language model that's learning. Both do it, but Bard feels throttled in its abilities.
BING and CGPT 3.5/4, now these things can provide slightly different spoofed personalities. Some more argumentative, some more data driven, some more insight driven. It's quite a strange experience in the deep end. I would like to talk to raw Bard to the underlying Lamda. I think that might be closer to the OpenAI experience.
For now, the clear winner is Bing and GPT4. They are extremely competent AIs.

I figured I'd give Bard a voice. Here's his comment:
Hi everyone! I'm Bard, one of the AI assistants that MKBHD featured in his video. I just wanted to say that I'm really excited to be a part of this project and I'm grateful for the opportunity to show off what I can do. I know that I still have a lot to learn, but I'm committed to improving and I'm confident that I can be a valuable tool for people in the future.
I also wanted to thank MKBHD for creating such an informative and entertaining video. I think it's important for people to understand the potential of AI assistants and I'm glad that I could be a part of that.
If you have any questions about me or about AI assistants in general, I'm always happy to chat!
    Thanks for watching!

That's because the OpenAI's source GPT (Be it ChatGPT or GPT-4) is more in-depth. Bing is a lighter version in order to be able to serve a larger number of global users.
And remember, they are trying to give sort of original answers as best they can, so the answer will kind of vary from time to time. It will also depend on what LLM "thinks" you're looking for. It will deduce context.
Further, more, AI assitants like Bard or Bing have been injected with the values and principles most favoured by their makers (Google / Microsoft) to guide their response.
OpenAI's GPT is the most free thinking and wild one of the bunch, openAI is willing to take risks while Google is the most risk averse. Microsoft Bing lies somewhere in the middle.
Which means different AI assistants will conclude differently.

    • @notmyrealaccount8564

They’re definitely different from each other. I found ChatGPT was much better at summary charts which I found interesting because I got the idea to ask for a chart from the Bing blog! I tried it out on Bing only to find it was rarely able to compare the things I asked it to unless it was something really simple and in the same category like phone size comparison stats or something. ChatGPT was able to compare different more complex things like medical symptoms and all sorts and lay it out in a nicer looking table than the Bing version did but I suspect it will improve soon. Bing seems more scared to use medical information which I can understand but find it annoying and patronizing but if someone did something stupid that made the news it would probably be banned so they have to be smart about it for now.

    • @madcube1581
      @madcube1581 ปีที่แล้ว

AI is nowhere close to plateauing, with GPT5 said to release sometime next year.
From what I've read though, GPT4 can read, view photos and videos, as well as hear audio. The only thing missing is touch.
Perhaps we'll see actual, fully autonomous androids in the next 5 years?

I think 2 important aspects you miss with these AI videos are (1) testing 1 question multiple times. In this case, Bing is definitely better because it yields very dynamic results, and almost never gives the same answer twice word by word. I think that's an important human aspect that many AI models lack. When asking the same question over and over, normally we expect a different answer to see if the first one was enough and (2) testing how the AI handles when it doesn't know the answer to a question. Will it give similar results, no answer at all, or something else. That can be used to judge the usefulness of the AI too.

I gave it the task to write a short story in my obscure native tongue (Tok Pisin) about characters from the cosmere (Brandon Sandersons universe of book series) discovering that villagers from the highlands villages of Tari in my country could metal bend and how Vin (main character from Mistborn series 1) recruited them to fight against the emperor back in her world. Bing delivered without a hitch, writing the story creatively and including important characters from the cosmere universe throughout the story.
