I had this for a few weeks . First of all this is amazing for the price . The screen is bright and touch is very responsive . The speaker's I was surprised they were loud but did lack base. They were even louder than my Acer aspire 5 slim windows laptop. The keyboard was good no complaints but my least favorite part was the track pad it just felt cheap but I typically use a wireless mouse definitely recommend one. The speed so far I have a couple tabs open and have Google notes app and play youtube music with that I get around 10 hours of battery life .

@@cobaltblue5523 Yup! That's basically my thoughts on it too. My son likes to play flash games on the LEGO website, so it's great for that too. They also use it for their Google Classroom homework and watching some TH-cam videos. It's definitely a great computer as far as the fit and finish of it. it's very responsive and we haven't had any issues with it yet .... except for gross kid fingers touching it and making the screen a mess! 🤣#parenting

I mainly bought ut to test the capabilities of a low end chromebook then I further researched other options and went with tye most power for value the acer spin 713 2020 model intel i 5 11th gen 8gb ram and 256 gb name storage
Mine is arriving tomorrow and I’m very excited especially since all Chromebooks released 2019 or later have the ability of running full android apps so that’s a plus for the $180 I paid!
I had two Samsung Chromebooks an older one and one only a couple of years old. The hinge broke off the newer one and it was not worth repairing. I like having two chromebooks - one for the bedroom and one in the dining room. That way I don't need to shift the units from room to room. I was going to get another Samsung but, I wanted a larger screen and I saw this one for a really cheap price from BestBuy. I will pick it up tomorrow.
I used to have windows in college but got sick of all the viruses and having to buy virus protection all time. I got a Toshiba Chromebook and one day it blacked out and then got a Samsung Tab A the 2016 version. Still working to this day. At one point it blacked out but came back to life again. Now I'm looking for a Chromebook I missed the keyboard for typing

I got mine at Target and this was around the holidays, so we got a holiday deal on it. It was 199.99. It might have been a Black Friday online deal. I had been looking for one in that price range for MONTHS, so when I saw that I jumped on it.
yeah same i ordered the one for 179 at walmart but its not 1080 hd or touch. still great price and huge screen for watching. i returned my 11 inch hp chrome book for this acer one. im using this one temporarily for 1-2 years until i purchase a fully loaded mac book.

I just purchased an ACER 315 Chromebook, and I have purchased two different adapters in an attempt to extend my display to a tv. A USB to HDMI woudn't work. And a USB-C to HDMI would not work. I connected my previous Chromebook without any issue to tvs in the past, so I am not sure what I need to do with this new Chromebook. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. ~Joy
Very good vid. Thanks! I have a Lenovo Chromebook, which is also similar price and quality, but much smaller. This one has a really excellent display! 2 USB ports is very good too, because these units usually have 1. I appreciate these machines. Where they get you is that 32GB storage. Originally I didn't think it would be a problem, but depending on what you try to use it for and run, it could potentially lock up on you due to no memory, even when being careful. And deleting doesn't seem to carry much weight at all. It's native software and updates eat up a large amount of that memory, and when I carefully monitored what was left, even though I had room to spare, just using programs over time forced me to eventually have to do a hard reset and delete programs. Once I did that, I appreciate it more using it very lightly.
Thanks for sharing your experience. We haven't had ours long enough to have any memory issues. I'm curious to see how long it lasts, and compare that to my Macbook. My Macbook I've had for 5 or so years, and it's still performing. I want to know if this chromebook will last that long.
i use dell optiplex 390 8gb 500 gb i5. it came with keyboard, mouse, everything you need under 200 dollars. i brought webcam under 20 dollars. all together 220 bucks. i was looking that chomebook before but i ended up getting windows. i love wondows.

We'd like to get our 14 year old her own laptop as she enters virtual highschool and we really like the idea of a Chromebook for her. Especially for the price and parental controls. On my iMac I can make a new file and it pops up on my screen, then I copy/paste lyrics to songs on it, I'm a singer so I like to click on the song on the screen when I want to memorize the song, so I have about 12 songs literally on my screen to click for quick reference. How do I do the same thing on my Acer Chromebook?

Be sure to check the AUE date on Chromebooks before purchasing. AUE = automatic update expiration ⚠️⚠️⚠️ Other than that, Chromebooks are quite useful! Their price makes them a great accessory laptop 💻 and battery life is long!!!!

Just got this a day ago. Working my way into the Google/Android ecosystem. I have a Galaxy Tab S6 lite & OnePlus Nord n200 5G. PLus my primary laptop for gaming is an Acer Nitro 5 for my gaming needs.
@Alan chromebook sucks yes honest. window 10 is better and yes I had a chromebook but having alot of tab open after 1 hour of use, sometime one of the tabs start to need to refresh again... or all them does which is annoying. Another thing is when opening flash drive, most of the video I record can't open but some can. Its fast but not as fast my lenovo laptop window 10. I know it has antivirus free but window defender is already good in 2021. Chromebook i had only had 16gb after update you have about 10 gb left, for 32gb you get 16gb or shorter.
From my experience the speaker's are loud but lacking in base , it was louder than my Acer aspire 5 slim (windows 10) I was actually surprised. Also I have a couple tabs open and a notes app running and it's pretty smooth .
You should be able to print. There are printer settings in the settings configuration area. My printer is super old, so it doesn't have the right drivers. Might want to check to see if your's is compatible.

You could wait for it to go on sale, but who knows when that will be. Mainly depends on your budget and how you use it. If you do a lot of reading on it, I find that the touch screen is helpful for scrolling pages.

Maybe late but it actually is touchscreen on my model. Don't pay attention to the other comments. Bought mine today at Target for $179, exactly the same as this one, probably slightly different model. My model with a touchscreen is CB315-3HT-C16B.

I'm back again. Ummm, lol! Chromebook looks uh, very similar to the Mac. How the heck did I not notice that until now? Borrowed design. Really, I love the Chromebooks as accessory notebooks. There good for remote access to your other computers, and the battery life is long! They're no hassle. They're probably the best choice as gifts to anyone you know that can't manage security on their own. Also, they're so inexpensive that it doesn't feel too painful if you drop it.

I’m having a hard time with mine ,the keyboard is weird , when pressing one key another symbol is displayed not matching the key pressed , and I’m also having trouble with using Gmail on it , being unable to sign in or out
That's really weird Jeff. Have you tried calling support or returning it .... maybe it was manufactured incorrectly? It's weird that Gmail is giving you issues since it's google based.
@@DadReviews I figured out the problem with the keyboard, it had to do with the language on the computer not matching the language the keyboard was designed for , about the gmail thing it seems when u create an account with the computer it automatically locks with the gmail u chose and u can’t change it unless u make a new account (user) on the computer, also it’s weird how I made 2 users and one of them and less apps available than the other for example one user provides access to the play store and the other one doesn’t
@@JeffJeff-jm6nn Thanks for sharing your experience with the keyboard. Hopefully that helps someone else out too who might be having that issue. In regards to the users and having less apps, I would assume that the first (main user) is the admin of the computer and other accounts are subliminal, so maybe there's a parental control setting that you can change to get the google play store to work.

The little lock point is called kensington lock it provides an attachment point for a cable to prevent your monitor from being moved or stolen
in walmart it is in 179 dlls and has a suitcase, I think it is a good promotion

yes the 32 gb was a let down, but I bought an external 1 tb hard drive so I’m chillin & loving my chrome book

Yes, the N4000 series chipset is of the 64-bit X86 architecture. I believe most of the latest Intel chip-based Chromebooks are 64-bit.

You could wait for it to go on sale, but who knows when that will be. Mainly depends on your budget and how you use it. If you do a lot of reading on it, I find that the touch screen is helpful for scrolling pages.

Maybe late but it actually is touchscreen on my model. Don't pay attention to the other comments. Bought mine today at Target for $179, exactly the same as this one, probably slightly different model. My model with a touchscreen is CB315-3HT-C16B.

I'm back again. Ummm, lol! Chromebook looks uh, very similar to the Mac. How the heck did I not notice that until now? Borrowed design. Really, I love the Chromebooks as accessory notebooks. There good for remote access to your other computers, and the battery life is long! They're no hassle. They're probably the best choice as gifts to anyone you know that can't manage security on their own. Also, they're so inexpensive that it doesn't feel too painful if you drop it.
I bought one and it is faster than my $330 Ipad A12 bionic

I also got a lenovo cb 3 14in fhd touchscreen with mediatek 8183 , 4gn ram and 64 gb storage . The acer is better

This is a Chromebook, so it uses the Google chrome operating system. You can’t get windows on it. Thanks for watching the videos. I’m glad you like them

I have another Acer Laptop. a Lenovo laptop, a Samsung tablet, and a Samsung phone. I just bought an Acer Chromebook 315.
I’m having a hard time with mine ,the keyboard is weird , when pressing one key another symbol is displayed not matching the key pressed , and I’m also having trouble with using Gmail on it , being unable to sign in or out
How do you like your Acer? So far, mine has been great. Also sounds like your a Samsung girl!
That's really weird Jeff. Have you tried calling support or returning it .... maybe it was manufactured incorrectly? It's weird that Gmail is giving you issues since it's google based.
@@DadReviews I figured out the problem with the keyboard, it had to do with the language on the computer not matching the language the keyboard was designed for , about the gmail thing it seems when u create an account with the computer it automatically locks with the gmail u chose and u can’t change it unless u make a new account (user) on the computer, also it’s weird how I made 2 users and one of them and less apps available than the other for example one user provides access to the play store and the other one doesn’t
@@JeffJeff-jm6nn Thanks for sharing your experience with the keyboard. Hopefully that helps someone else out too who might be having that issue. In regards to the users and having less apps, I would assume that the first (main user) is the admin of the computer and other accounts are subliminal, so maybe there's a parental control setting that you can change to get the google play store to work.
