Hi! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I am a 48 year old woman from Sweden and I don’t have that much to say, really😄, just know that I wait for your uploads every time. Love your voice and everything you do, you sound so honest and sweet and you make me laugh and smile. I don’t want to go to different kinds of make up in this comment, just want you to know how much I like everything you have done so far. I also hope and wish for you and your family to stay safe in all this. Loads of love from Maria in Sweden ❤️
Was so nice to hear about my most favorite foundation - YSL touche eclat! 💗💕💖 I have a dry and thin skin after 40, it matches perfectly, and I use it also as a consealer.
I am so very happy that you include fragrance where applicable. It is an absolute no-go for me, and I have wasted plenty of money on products that contain it, but were difficult to identify on the packaging! Thank you!
Yenny Golden Rose yes it’s very long lasting. I use the jar I haven’t tried the bottle. It’s fantastic and comes in my shade which is light with true neutrals
Thanks Gemma. So clear and concise. I am in your mothers category: I agree that dewy looks better on me than matte. I need a dewy, nontransferable product as I wear a mask for 12 hours a day at work.
Christina Truchon Mac face and body is amazing perfection! In my opinion a dewy foundation that doesn’t transfer doesn’t exist bc dewy is dewy . So moisture will transfer unfortunately. I work in healthcare and I wear a mask all day too. I think you’d love the Mac foundation. Honestly anyone and everyone could wear it. It’s a water based foundation. Like 90%. It’s seriously gorgeous and long wearing ❤️
The Stila is FABULOUS! It looks very natural and I use a sponge to apply so it stays softer in coverage and doesn't make my 56 year old skin look over done. I like a natural look with lighter coverage and play up my eyes.
Great video. I am 64 and I was getting ready today in a hurry after my shower and I put NYX Bare with me on and then realized I forgot my serums and moisturizer!! I then realized that my skin felt fine. Not dry at all! Now I know why after watching this. I love this!!!
I have just found your channel and I'm already hooked. I'm only 25 but I suffered really badly from adult acne and I ended up having to go on a year course of accutane. My skin is now clear and on the dryer side. I have also been left with creasing around my smile lines that is more prominent than it used to be/ also because I lived in Australia for 2 years with sun exposure/ damage. I am currently on the hunt for a beautiful light- medium coverage foundation/ tinted moisturiser that looks and feels like perfect skin.
I have no idea why you don't have half a million subscribers.....just an excellent & very enjoyable channel!! Great video - I find myself looking to this channel the most for foundation reviews. !
You are the best. You don’t waste breath, words, time. Your do your homework beyond any. You stick to the subject, converse on the pros and cons and sweat the details. I am in awe. That was awesome, useful and still fun and interesting. Thank you so much. You’re going to have multi million followers one day I just know it. Best of the best for the best❤️. Thank goodness I found you.
Gemma, thanks so much for this in-depth tutorial. I’m just this side of 77 for a little bit and want to try the makeup you’re wearing in this video....it’s so beautiful. Love the whole look, especially for this time of year. So appreciate all the time and effort you put into this video! Give your family our love. They are lucky to have such an awesome mom, wife and daughter.
After you first reviewed the Milani, I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did as it has become one of my favorites. The coverage is great without being heavy and looks so skin like with excellent staying power. I use the No 7 loose powder and the Morphe Continuous setting spray with it and they all work great together.
Thank you so much Gemma!! I am seriously struggling with finding a good foundation for my skin. I am 35 and have dry skin but also skin that breaks out still and I am getting slight fine lines. I will be looking into a few of these further. Can I also say that you look stunning in this video x
Thanks Carmel. I've been watching your derma planing vid recently. It's a nightly ritual and never fails. It must have been tough for you over the past few weeks not being able to perform treatments on actual people, but I've loved all your content xxx
Thank you for giving us this info because it's good to know what is going to work for your skin type, letting us know the coverage of these foundations as well because, I as well, have Dry combination skin.
Immediately after buying the Nyx Born to Glow foundation, I was disappointed and not at al impressed. It felt and acted like a cheap and low quality foundation. After learning more and testing it out further, I can now firmly confirm that the amount of foundation you apply really matters with this one. (Hint: I was using too much.) And now I really enjoy it. Not quite HG, but I will very likely repurchase the next time I need a foundation I can travel with.
Hi Gemma , never commented before on anything but have watched your channel for ages and love your enthusiasm and recommendations, as I am 58 and quite wrinkly really struggled to get a foundation that didn’t enhance them , I have about 50 different ones that don’t look good !! Everything from high end down - but yesterday purchased the revlon and I think it looks pretty good so thanks for the recommendation 😃, keep up the excellent work
I’ve been wanting to try the Milani but I need to use up all these others that I’ve got & been trying out. I want to find the perfect one for me. One for summer & one for winter, that covers & looks good in my aging skin, at 58. Never in my life thought I would have a problem with how makeup looks on my skin, little did I know........ Thanks Gemma Carmen NC US
I’m a fan of the Tarte Foundcealer Foundation. Please be aware though if you’re looking for a shade match between a Tarte foundation with Tarte concealer the matching concealer may not have the same shade mean because not all lines in the brand have the same number of shades. I think face tape has 50 shades Amazonian Clay foundation has about 40 and I Foundcealer has about 30. It’s a hydrating formula with a medium coverage probably buildable to full. If you have dry her skin is a little on the sensitive side this is a good one I haven’t noticed fragrance in this product and it has a unique pump that minimizes waste. I have not noticed it facing on the smile lines like some other foundations Ive tried. I like the faceless concealer but you have to use very little and it still looks very dearly and needs to be set with little bit of powder. I have found that I really like because Rachael texture of the L’Oreal infallible concealer versus shape tape which is a little bit drying. It’s supposed to be a date for the Born This Way concealer by TooFaced. I found this I’m getting older that the heavier the coverage, the LESS FLATTERING it is.
I see there are a few of you that have been waiting forever for the No 7 Hydraluminous foundation to come to the US . Glad I can stop looking now, but I did find a seller on Ebay UK that ships to the US and was thrilled. Received it quickly too which was nice. Check it out!
I’ve been using aveda tinted moisturiser for years. Have tried many others, no 7; Clinique etc but this is fantastic. I know you’re discussing foundations but just thought I would mention it as I’ve never seen anyone ever mention it. Love your advice about all makeup, very thorough and honest reviews xo
Thank you for all the hard work you put in to researching all these products for us. Ive noted down a few I want to try which is great as always on the lookout for something new. Have a great day Gemma xx
I enjoyed watching your run-down on these foundations, thank you!. I have dry skin and see a couple I may want to try. And you look lovely, as usual. I would love to be able to do that very thin eye line that you do.
I love this type of video. Although I’m happy with the Stila and No 7 hydra luminous it’s still good to hear about other options. Thank you for taking so much time and care to make this video for us.
❤ you, ❤ your content ❤your channel...will definitely try some foundations you spoke of. Thanks for such in depth, informative videos. Til next time...ciao for now.
Love, love, live this video, thank you soooooo much. I work in a hospital on the frontline & wear masks all day so this is just what I needed 💞💞💞💞😗😗😗😗😗 xxxxx
I am so happy i found you!! I have been having trouble finding someone my age. I am 36. Starting a new job and cant afford to waste $. I need a foundation.
Your mum should try the Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue using her fingers to apply and no more than one pump (if that). It made a big difference for me using that way and now I love it!
Oh my gosh, are you me talking about the Dior foundation? Because there are a ton of things that should have me in the first class car on the train to Nopeville, but sweet baby Moses and all his baskets does it work beautifully every single time, even when my rosacea is out of control and/or exacerbated my the medications I take for my chronic illness. I don’t like to use words like “holy grail,” but if you forced me, that would be the foundation I’d pick to be the one I’d wear for the rest of my days. That said, I’m really interested in the YSL Touche Eclat and the Estée Lauder Double Wear. This was such a helpful video - thank you so much for all the work you clearly put into it. Much love!
So appreciate the time and research u put into every video! Whatever Jan likes I do as well! Very happy with my Estee Lauder and Revlon foundations. Thank u Gemma
I love the Stila Hide and Chic too! It's like magic. I really want to try the No7 foundation that your mom likes. My first ever trip to the UK got nixed this spring, so hopefully I can make it next year and grab a tube of that. And some scones. I'm really wanting scones. ;)
Scones are easy to make. Google 3-ingredient scone recipe (uses 7-Up, cream and flour). With strawberry jam (maybe called conserve? Like "jelly" but with seeds, a fruit spread - sorry, Australian here lol, but we definitely do scones) and whipped cream.
Thank you, Margaret. I have bought some there before, but the particular foundation Gemma's mom likes is not available in the US yet. Their FB page says: " Hi! There’s no plan to carry this item in the US but things may change in the near future 🖤"
I love your in depth research and honest opinion... what about thr dior backstage face and body.... was surprised not to see that in your collection xx
Totally agree with you regarding the Stila Hide & Chic foundation. It's just gorgeous. The thing about alcohol in products is, it depends on which alcohol is used (denate is a huge "no no", whereas cetearyl is actually ok). I would love for skincare and makeup companies to detail what the alcohol AND parfum/fragrance/perfume is. Wouldn't that be great? Cheers again Gemma, foundation is so important. Getting a clear explanation from you always helps. 👍👍💗
Thanks these reviews were great. We have the same preferences in foundation and I already have a couple of these on your great recommendation. I fancy giving the Boots one a go next thanks.
Love this gemma. I need a new light/medium foundation and thinking either the nyx veil or no 7 protect and perfect (I know you like this one too) Also over 40 and have dry skin 😊
Just wanted to say, I would definitely try the No 7. . I ordered it and it is my new favorite.... It is light and beautiful. I am 48 and have fine lines ...
Brilliant video! Thanks so much for this. Sooooo useful and detailed as always. Hope you and your family are doing well in these strange circumstances. xx
Great videos! I was wondering if you tried the Bobbi Brown serum foundation? I ve heard a lot of good options but not sure would love to see a comparison
Hi Gemma! I may try the Born to Run, but in the fall. Right now in the heat and humidity of a New England summer - I am using a tired sunblock and that's about it!!! :)). If I use anything on top of it, it's a tinted moisturizer.
Great video, thanks for all of your hard work making it 👍🏻. So many of my favourites on there. I love the No7, BTG and Milani, definitely eyeing up the Zoeva and Stila, coz different foundations for different days 😉🧡🥰xx
Thank You .you look beautiful as always ,but I appreciate this informative video as it's mind boggling sometimes choosing a foundation ,unless you go out and buy them all !!Thank you again great video x
Okay I've tried four different foundations this month. I've seen a few excellent reviews for the Nyx Born to Glow for over 35, dry skin. I'm going to try it! Thanks for this review! Now I'm going to check out the concealer review! Crazy how my skin has changed in just a couple years 🤪
I have dry skin and I love the Dior Skin Glow as well. I like the Estee Lauder Futurist Foundation as well but I find the Double Wear light to be very drying on my skin. I like No7's serum foundation, I will try Hydraluminous as well. I look forward to trying some of the other ones you mentioned. Thank you! 😊
Hi Gemma: Please consider trying a new Foundation from AVON that I love. It gives a smooth Satin finish. Look for Avon CASHMERE COMPLEXION LONGWEAR FOUNDATION. This formulation would look well on textured skin with a pore smoothing primer. I have DRY Skin, so I lay down the First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer first...The Cashmere Complexion Foundation wears long, and is somewhat concentrated, so you don't need to use an excessive amount. I think that you would be pleasantly surprised at how nice this makes the face look!
I wear it cosmetics cc cream (normal one), and find it very good, although I am seriously thinking about the YSL foundation! Great video as always Gemma!
Hi Gemma, Just Love the Stila foundation at the moment- it is very light weight, but covers, without sinking into pores and I don’t think it has SPF, though- I think your Mom & I have similar taste, hope she is doing well, miss seeing her! 🤗💕🇺🇸💕
I don't fall with you...every time I bought a foundation on your recommendation it was a win! Zoeva was just the latest and I bought: The YSL & Estee Lauder one. I have rosacea and dry skin and those foundation are excellent. Thank you❣️💋
I have found that since I have to wear a face covering when going out that the EL double wear doesn’t transfer and lip liner works for lipstick and also doesn’t transfer. Hopefully we will be finished with mask wearing soon! Thanks 🙏
Hi Gemma, I've been wanting to try the Glossier Skin Tint. I dont like wearing alot of makeup especially in a Texas summer. I swear ALOT. But on the website it doesn't say its noncomedogenic. Can you please recommend something? I'm 45yo. Just had my birthday on June 3rd. I'm oily in my Tzone & cheeks & eyes feel dry, but I've never had flaky skin. My main skin concerns are fine lines, wrinkles, & large pores. Thank you, and keep up your Awesome hard work!
Great video that covered a lot of foundations! My only wish was that you stated the price points on them...I love your eye makeup here, wish I could wear liner in my bottom water line but it tends to not last and irritate my eyes. Love your voice, could listen to you rattle on about anything, very pleasant & soothing!
Great information as always Gemma! I have oily/combo skin and really appreciate you including your moms thoughts in the foundations too. I absolutely love the Stila Hide and Chic. I have wanted to try the Zoeva foundation but am not a huge fan of full coverage foundations.
I have dry skin. Seems like all the medium to full coverage for dewey look have cons....fragrance or alcohol. Any new suggestions? Love you channel! Thanks bunches.
Great video Gemma my absolute favourite foundation is Zelens have you ever tried it they do a youth glow and age control and they are equally good and I have mature skin. They are cruelty free and vegan. I need to try some of these ones you've suggested. x
Thank you for this. I love how you categorized the makeup by coverage. So helpful. Your video on concealers did the same thing and was amazing. I also watched your concealer video, changed the way I apply concealer and am getting better results. One question, no IT Cosmetics foundation?
shoshana silberstein - Thanks for that! I've become an avid watcher of all the influencer reviews out there for Olaplex...am about to (finally!) pull the trigger for Olaplex...3,4& 5, I think, is what I've settled on. (Shampoo, conditioner I think is 4&5 and #3 is a periodic conditioner. It's nice to see that extra positive commentary on Olaplex from a consumer - Thanks! No 0 7s supposed to be a primer to #3, but it's so pricey and so difficult to apply, 7ve heard its a no-go for those reasons. Plus reviewers who've used #3 alone, and also with #0, are saying they see no added benefit of including #0 with #3. Also, one reviewer with long bleached hair has discovered that #3 conditioner with a few drops of #7 oil added in and applied to midlength to ends, left on overnight, about once a weekweek - had no less than miraculous effects on her hair. While leaving #3 on hair longer than 40 minutes, 9r overnight, had no added benefit. The company says tgat #3 stays active for 40 minutes while hair is still damp. After that, there is no added benefit to leaving it on longer, per Olaplex advisers. Apparently, though, #3 can be activated with a bit of #7 oil added in, and per this YT influencer, she got awesome results using that combo and leaving on overnight.
I have been using the Nars. I really like it. I bought it for my wedding day makeup and have used it since. I do agree that it is does come off easily. I used to wear the Revlon but then the colors got darker. I have similar coloring as you, but maybe a fit more fair. What color in the Revlon do you use?
Hello. I just watched another one of your videos on foundation, in the other video you didn't seem very impressed with the Dior forever skin glow foundation ? I think it was a video comparing the Dior forever Matt vrs Dior forever skin glow foundation. Just wondering how you feel about that foundation now ? I just ordered it online (Dior forever skin glow ) so having a last minute panic 🙈. Love your videos 🙂
Great video, thnx! I love the NYX tinted skin veil on my dry skin. Would love to use the born to glow foundation from NYX. I'm thinking of buying the First Aid Beauty bendy avocado concealer. Does anyone have experience with that concealer?

The Zoeva foundation seriously does not get enough love. I am SO glad I tried it out. It's seriously beautiful on the skin!

The Revlon is beyond fantastic, this stuff has been around for a long time for a good reason
Is it long-lasting too?
Yenny Golden Rose yes it’s very long lasting. I use the jar I haven’t tried the bottle. It’s fantastic and comes in my shade which is light with true neutrals
Thanks Gemma. So clear and concise. I am in your mothers category: I agree that dewy looks better on me than matte. I need a dewy, nontransferable product as I wear a mask for 12 hours a day at work.

Love the NO7 one it doesn’t sit in my lines as much as my old Christian Dior one did. Thanks Gemma
I'm wanting to give the Milani one a go. Sounds lovely!

So informative! Could you do something similar with stick or powder foundations?
Thank you so much. Appreciate your research and detailed explanation. You look gorgeous in this video.
This was SO helpful. I’m going to try the Stila next I think.

I love fragrance! I actually look for foundations WITH fragrance - is there a reason why you don't like fragrance? Allergies etc.?
Fragrance in makeup or skin care products are notorious for irritating the skin.
I can't stand fragrance in foundation! It makes my eyes water and triggers my Asthma.
Love, love, live this video, thank you soooooo much. I work in a hospital on the frontline & wear masks all day so this is just what I needed 💞💞💞💞😗😗😗😗😗 xxxxx

@@melissarainey.9868 thanks so much Melissa.the reviews are so good for it too. Will give it a try.🙂
Brilliant video! Thanks so much for this. Sooooo useful and detailed as always. Hope you and your family are doing well in these strange circumstances. xx
Thank you so much for this video, I am going to purchase the YSL and Dior. I'm super excited to try them.
Love your reviews!
Crazy how my skin has changed in just a couple years 🤪
Fantastic video!!! Thank you so much Gemma! 💖
Great video always appreciate these as products are so different and cost money so this helps to choose with confidence 😀🌸
Thank you❣️💋
Love your videos/ was surprised nothing from Maybelline.
I have found that since I have to wear a face covering when going out that the EL double wear doesn’t transfer and lip liner works for lipstick and also doesn’t transfer. Hopefully we will be finished with mask wearing soon! Thanks 🙏
Me too I have to wear face mask I have found the double wear doesn't transfer on to my mask
Excellent video. Thank you!
Hair looks great!
Great video that covered a lot of foundations! My only wish was that you stated the price points on them...I love your eye makeup here, wish I could wear liner in my bottom water line but it tends to not last and irritate my eyes. Love your voice, could listen to you rattle on about anything, very pleasant & soothing!
The prices are listed in the description box xxx
Great information as always Gemma! I have oily/combo skin and really appreciate you including your moms thoughts in the foundations too. I absolutely love the Stila Hide and Chic. I have wanted to try the Zoeva foundation but am not a huge fan of full coverage foundations.
If you don't like full coverage don't buy the ZOEVA xxx
I’m excited to try the Stila
Great video... very informative... Thank u Gemma 🌷🌸🤓
I need to try some of these ones you've suggested. x
I ordered the No7 Hydroluminous on eBay because we aren't getting it here in the US. I love it - the hype is real!
Covergirl trublend matte made is my fav for my combo/dry maturing skin 🙂
Bourjois is leaving the uk, I love the healthy mix in light vanilla what will I swap to?! Any ideas?
Thank you for this. I love how you categorized the makeup by coverage. So helpful. Your video on concealers did the same thing and was amazing. I also watched your concealer video, changed the way I apply concealer and am getting better results. One question, no IT Cosmetics foundation?
I said at the beginning no CC,BB or tinted moisturisers Amy xxx
@@PamperedWolf Thanks Gemma. I realized that AFTER I posted. Sorry!
Can't wait to try some of these.. Thank you as always do informative 💜
Would you say the No. 7 foundation is a dupe for the Born This Way one?
Love my EL. Have to powder afterwards though even if I am dry
Great review. I wish you would have given us your shade in them. The reviews for Zoeva say it oxidizes to order one shade lighter. Is that right?
Mine didn't oxidise at all! I thought it might, so ordered a shade lighter. Had to reorder my correct shade afterwards 😆
My shades are written in the description box xxx
OK not about foundation but tried the oleplex 3, Omg... My hair (which is bleached) feels like heaven
shoshana silberstein - Thanks for that!
Also, one reviewer with long bleached hair has discovered that #3 conditioner with a few drops of #7 oil added in and applied to midlength to
ends, left on overnight, about once a weekweek - had no less than miraculous effects on her hair.
Such a great idea to divide up in to light and more full coverage/luminous/mat foundations! Thank you. Which shade do you use for your Zoeva one?

I have been using the Nars. I really like it. I bought it for my wedding day makeup and have used it since. I do agree that it is does come off easily. I used to wear the Revlon but then the colors got darker. I have similar coloring as you, but maybe a fit more fair. What color in the Revlon do you use?
It differs widely. Check out the description box xxx
Hi Gemma which foundation do you recommend by nyx for oily skin xx
Great video, thnx! I love the NYX tinted skin veil on my dry skin. Would love to use the born to glow foundation from NYX. I'm thinking of buying the First Aid Beauty bendy avocado concealer. Does anyone have experience with that concealer?
