I'm from Sydney and was also in Manila this NYE. I have a similar video on my profile as I was in the same building, it's taken from Gramercy in Makati. I was on level 53 but this video would've been taken from the bar on the roof (71 Gramercy). I just have to say that in my life I have never experienced anything like I did that night... All day leading up to midnight standing on the balcony there were explosions that would echo and bounce from one side of the city and carry to the other end. Once the clock got closer to midnight, I felt like I was in the middle of a war zone with bombs dropping 100s of times every second.. This video can't convey how truly awesome the show was. Sydeny loves to brag about its perfectly arranged 15 minute show which is of course stunning but can't compare to something like this.. A true celebration.
it is true sydney and london keep bragging that they have awesome fireworks display but for my own opinion since every year we celebrate this sydney and london combined was dwarf compare to this imagine the entire country is like this lol
We don't really call this a display, this is simply a celebration. The whole city is in celebration. And it happens in most parts of the country too. I grew up and lived in Manila until 10 years ago and the New Year's celebration there is one of the things I really miss the most. It really is a free-for-all, but that's because during New Year's, Filipinos don't just want to be spectators, we also want to be participants. I used to light up my own fireworks outside our house right there on the street, with neighbors doing the same thing. Hanging out and having fun with family and friends watching the different fireworks on display in the sky and on the streets. Everyone was giving each other a show. To look up and watch someone's firework light up the night sky in awe, we'd then light up our own knowing someone out there was watching it too, that was the special thing about it all :) You'll have one of the most exciting New Year's Eve dinners there as you hear the explosions even from inside a house. We typically leave the table and just eat outside to watch it all go down haha.
How right you are. The feeling of being in that moment is just surreal. When I was younger, I dread the 31st because of the loud explosions but I have to live with it as I know even as a kid that it is a Filipino tradition. Now, that I'm older---and wiser--I've come to love and revel (in) every second of it. This is what makes us unique and I embrace it. I love our NYE celebration here in the PH! :)

@@Dan-xx8fx Well nope. Even better actually. More lights, loud noises, fountains, and fireworks. Only less on firecrackers. But there still is actually. Hahaha!
@JXCOB i think you got it a bit wrong so you see dubai does it... what london is iconic is its big ben and the perfection and synchronization of the fireworks...
I have lived here in Ortigas Center, Pasig City for the past 12 years, and I will say, this is by far the very best fireworks display I have seen since living here. One thing, Filipinos love to celebrate, a festival, good food and family is what you will experience during this time of year when visiting Manila.
I started a tradition that every new years I go on vacation to see a cities new years celebration. This year is hong kong, last year was NYC and next year might be this.

This is bar none the craziest fireworks display I've ever seen, freaking nuts it looks like the city is under attack Imagine the fireworks vendors pay day in that city
that's not the best or the worst depending on your point of view yet... that's the wallstreet of the Philippines...business/commercial area... the more affluent but less dense area... the video shows less than 1/25 of Metro Manila (dense smoke and distance hides the rest)... and not the most pyrotechnic mad area either... you have to be in Chinatown (Binondo, Manila) for that...
Everyone seems to compare Philippine's New Year celebrations to a war zone and this video is only seen from atop the building. It is much louder at the ground level and it's not advisable to walk or drive around the streets as they become mine fields of firecrackers of different shapes and sizes. It is a Filipino tradition that producing any kind of loud noise (whether fire crackers, honking the cars, hitting the pans, and blowing the horn pipe on New Years Eve would drive away the bad vibes of the old year to make way for good fortune and luck in the coming year.
Born and raised in the metro but I've never seen the view from the tallest building until now. Most Filipino adults (and sometimes kids too) know how to light up firecrackers and so I'm already used to the exploding sounds, shaking walls and the wearing of face masks every NYE .. but this moment captured is just so magnificent! Kudos to whoever took the video. I agree though that the best fireworks are in parts of Chinatown, Binondo.

for the fact that its even louder and happier in the streets.. party over here and there loud music, drinking parties, food buffets, videoke and yes of course fireworks and firecrackers before they got banned. filipinos celebrate new year like its the last no one can compete specially back in the 90s.. and oh i forget to tell you guys that after the fireworks we party and drink till dawn here in philippines.
Nostalgia strikes... Felt so happy seeing this grand barrage of lights... missing waking up with dirt on your nose hehehe... Happy New Year everyone- no haters please...
same here... been away from home and living abroad (all over) for more than 20 years, and this is what I miss. I remember, my first time celebrating the Holiday Seasons away from home, I cried seeing how empty and boring it was. Christmas and Year's Eve celebration in the Philippines is the best, there's nothing like home celebrations!

I love it, I miss this thing. Im In Dekalb, Illinois - boring as hell. like cemetery in new year. Can you imagine? I love the Philippine New Year bonker style :) Keep it up!
I love to spent my New year and Christmas in Philippines! Because there is lots of fireworks and lots of fun in philippines during this time of the year! Unlike in overseas is so boring and not lots of fireworks like back home! I will definitely spent my New year eve and Christmas in Philippines this year! The food are also very tasty and very good value!
Wow that is what I called individual Liberty of celebration of fireworks. Not just concentrated and sponsored by big corporation or government. Well again one has to take responsibility. I you got hurt too bad. Imagine having that kind of Liberty in Silicon Valley CA.
Namo gaming Same in the Philippines. Major difference between the two is that it’s only like that on certain places in the Netherlands. In the Philippines, it’s the entire country. In the video, you only saw Metro Manila where the video cycled thru some of the cities. If you look at every city, every province, every town, every corner and every street in the Philippines, it would be the same like the video that you saw. I doubt there is anything like that in any country in Europe or the whole world. And the fireworks is not as massive and grand down on the streets and in the air compared to the Philippines. This kind of celebration has been going on since I was born in the 1960’s. I’m pretty sure this tradition goes all the way back.
I think netherlands celebrating NYE is just one city while philippines is entire country! In this video its only manila, imagine how abouy the other city in the philippines . 😁😁
The fireworks were awesome also on Angeles city, just north of Manila. Even by just observing from rooftop level. You see 360 panoramic degrees of bursts and explosions happening dozens of times per second near midnight and you visualize every person behind it. Whatever happens, our faith and hope can handle it!
That's just how they celebrate new years in the Philippines. Citizens are allowed to buy fireworks, firecrackers and etc by themselves. They have the FREEDOM. I know that by spending my childhood in there, compare to other countries who doesn't have the freedom like that. People who doesn't like this just doesn't have the experience growing up and lonely during new years eve. If you have that freedom, you'll understand. LOL
This is freaking awesome at its best.. Its like a war zone, an alien invasion where people fight for their lives in every street. This will put the 4th of July in America in shame.
It's 2015 and I still see people commenting hate on the videos they are watching. An idea for you all haters, if you don't like something don't click on it and watch it. Unless you really have nothing better to do and would rather spend your precious time commenting on something you hate full of people who appreciate it. Hope you all have a pleasant year!
Im so amazed but honestly the most exciting new year eve was early 90's 'cause that time No restriction for the fireworks every households has their own firecrackers, I missed those days 😩😇
We used to celebrate new year like this here in ph. If you zoom at the bottom youll see alot of smoke, if youre downstair you can barely see the street cause theres a lot of fireworks at the bottom too.. Im still amazed how it looks at the top and seems like a warzone ahaha. Thanks for the video. It reminds me how beautiful we used to celebrate it now not much fireworks is made as some place banned fireworks due to accidents
FIREWORKS: It's more FUN in the Philippines :-) 90% are holding/using fireworks and everyone is awake. After the fireworks comes "MEDIA NOCHE" - each house celebrates a feast with: fruits, leche flan, lechon (roast pig), spaghetti, pansit (stir fried noodles), ham, pizza, lasagna, barbeque, etc....you name it ! :-)
This is crazy... insane even! Filipinos do know how to celebrate. Definitely more fun in the Philippines. Haters, this only happens once a year so chill.
as afr as what i can remember.....eversince my childhood.. we do this kinda LET IT ALL OUT WITH THE BANG!!! and im 46 yrs old now... so for the paat 45 yrs ...nothing compare a to my country in/on how we celebrate the new years!
Newsweek, titled its New Year story as: "Manila’s Fireworks Won New Year’s Eve." "Did your city hold a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve? Probably. Was it as good as Manila’s? Probably not," it further said.
This is why that all filipino is celebrating a new year!! Best celebrating new year! I've ever seen! Whoooo only!! In the philippines men! PHILIPPINES! ALL PILIPINO HAS ENJOYED TO CELEBRATING A NEW YEAR!
I'm blessed to see this spectacle every year. Nothing comes close to Phils when celebrating New Years eve considering that there are less people who are are doing it now because of city ordinance. :(. The 80's and 90's era are crazier (Pla pla, super lolo, bawang, five star etc. Wish that there were videos of those days.
If you climb at the most top (rooftop) part my home during New Year's eve or some tall buildings with open view and look around. It feels like you're in a war zone with loud explosions and beautiful fireworks everywhere just like in war movies. It's really more fun in the Philippines!
Meanwhile, on the street level there are much much more fireworks like fountains, roman candles and some grenade looking stuffs too lol. It is really very noisy in the entire Philippines during new years eve.
awesome!,My whole life, I've been celebrating New years Eve in the Philippines and it was damn fun! but this year I wasn't, my grandma brought us here in Canada. It's the first time in my life to eat turkey and drink wine while feeling lonely and bored on a New years eve..
What's really funny is most Filipinos are so used to this kind of thing yearly na parang wala nalang. Just surprised at the reactions of people from allover the world haha. New year's eve in the Philippines... It's chaotic and I love it!
+Luke's HomeTube (LukesHomeTube) Fireworks has really meaning to us. We light fireworks every New Year's eve because to stay away the evil spirit and bad lucks in our house by making a lot noise.
I'm a filipino , it is our tradition to make noise nor use fireworks during new year because it is used to remove bad spirits in the year, to remove badluck and many more.
I can still remember watching in the News when JDAMS and Tomahawk Missiles hit targets during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I was like, "Damn is this right in the middle of Baghdad? Talk about Shock and Awe".. Then I saw this... I was like no way.

I love how you're atheist and wear a fedora in your profile. So in the spirit of festivity:
*tips fedora*
poor athiests, you are only athiesm since it is convinient and you want to live a life of sin.. so sad
Men! This is glorious. Hard to top this for real. The view makes the difference. @aholyexperience brought me here.
not only in metro manila. but actually every province in the philippines do this. every neighbor enjoying outside the streets.
I miss these days... Damn.. when new year is a real celebration
the fireworks are literally everywhere in the city. awesome.
Actually the whole country is doing fireworks
for the fact that its even louder and happier in the streets.. party over here and there loud music, drinking parties, food buffets, videoke and yes of course fireworks and firecrackers before they got banned. filipinos celebrate new year like its the last no one can compete specially back in the 90s.. and oh i forget to tell you guys that after the fireworks we party and drink till dawn here in philippines.
Every dog in that city was shitting itself
wow the best spot para maka pag video... ganda! at ang galing ni lord after ng fire works nag BIGAY SYA NG ULAN.. CLEANSING! he washes out the smug'... pero kakaunti nlng ang mga nag papa putok ngayon.... TRADITION NEVER STOP..... happy new year.. good vibes ' smile everyone!
I love it, I miss this thing. Im In Dekalb, Illinois - boring as hell. like cemetery in new year. Can you imagine?
I love the Philippine New Year bonker style :) Keep it up!
I will really cry if this happens again in new year. It's so touching and emotional knowing that people are happy.
*Dubai makes a good firework show*
*Phillipines:hold my beer*
For me hold my TANDUAY RHUM
2019 anyone? Mas masaya pa rin ito kaysa sa NYE ngayon..
this is one of the thing i miss about Philippines...i miss my youth very much..i miss to light up our own stockfile of firecrackers.
This is just a small part of Metro Manila. Other places were crazier :))
Imagine having that kind of Liberty in Silicon Valley CA.
the Netherlands and Philippines has same tradition in New Year....
@ROBLOX Namo yeah same in philippines but not only teens, even boys like 8/9 yrs old light firecrackers
I think netherlands celebrating NYE is just one city while philippines is entire country! In this video its only manila, imagine how abouy the other city in the philippines . 😁😁
And some m'fuckers do fire a real gun in the Philippines..lol
It's like that in the Netherlands too, in every street, every town, everyone lighting fireworks at the same time.
Omg dis is the philippines i know! america new year soo boring. ball dropping from time square, "OMG WOW BALL DROP WEHEE!!!"
It was raining the entire 2016 NYE here in Manila.. But oh boy it didnt stop us.. aerial fireworks and sounds of explosions is still crazy as this!
The fireworks were awesome also on Angeles city, just north of Manila. Even by just observing from rooftop level. You see 360 panoramic degrees of bursts and explosions happening dozens of times per second near midnight and you visualize every person behind it. Whatever happens, our faith and hope can handle it!
it's not wasteful if people have fun over it. Happy New Year from Philippines ^^ ~
Masaya talaga mag celebrate ng new year s pinas walang katulad :)
Lol, 2014 or 2015, trolls gonna troll!
I wonder how this would look from space!
Meron dapat tayong world record :)
That is awesome. Best fireworks show ever. Blows NYC, Hong Kong, Dubai, SF etc.
In Sydney, we can't even see half of our fireworks display due to the fact that the smoke covers it all... Here, it's like there's none at all...
FIREWORKS: It's more FUN in the Philippines :-)
90% are holding/using fireworks and everyone is awake.
In what news?
in the Newsweek Magazine..
+Mark Velarde Thanks!
welcome
This is why that all filipino is celebrating a new year!! Best celebrating new year! I've ever seen! Whoooo only!! In the philippines men! PHILIPPINES! ALL PILIPINO HAS ENJOYED TO CELEBRATING A NEW YEAR!
I'm blessed to see this spectacle every year. Nothing comes close to Phils when celebrating New Years eve considering that there are less people who are are doing it now because of city ordinance. :(. The 80's and 90's era are crazier (Pla pla, super lolo, bawang, five star etc. Wish that there were videos of those days.
watch this facebook.com/video.php?v=782712675131178&set=vb.140175319384920&type=2&theater
It was really fuckin insane until the early 2000s!
Fireworks as far as your eyes can see.. Manila should hold some world record every year.. #guinessworldrecord
only in the Philippines you would see something like this
And in most of the European cities.. try Berlin
@@sushibenni My German friend found ours nuts still despite that! 😂😂😂
This was 4 yrs ago but still the craziest video ever taken for a massive fireworks display
not so much fireworks today compared to previous new years eve, still awesome thou..
Nakakamiss ganitong pag salubong sa New Year's Eve.
awesome!,My whole life, I've been celebrating New years Eve in the Philippines and it was damn fun! but this year I wasn't, my grandma brought us here in Canada.
It's the first time in my life to eat turkey and drink wine while feeling lonely and bored on a New years eve..
Bongga talaga sa Pinas ang New Year walang makakapantay. It brings positive energy
Looking forward to 2016 already...Plan to be in Manila and Gramercy Residence roof view :)
What's really funny is most Filipinos are so used to this kind of thing yearly na parang wala nalang. Just surprised at the reactions of people from allover the world haha.
New year's eve in the Philippines... It's chaotic and I love it!
My guess is that Manila loves their fireworks. What do you think?
+Luke's HomeTube (LukesHomeTube) Fireworks has really meaning to us. We light fireworks every New Year's eve because to stay away the evil spirit and bad lucks in our house by making a lot noise.
most of the fireworks are made in philippines.. 😂
+Luke's HomeTube (LukesHomeTube) this is like a ritual :D this is how we celebrate nye , random fireworks display like crazy :D lol
I'm a filipino , it is our tradition to make noise nor use fireworks during new year because it is used to remove bad spirits in the year, to remove badluck and many more.
Luke's HomeTube | well FIREWORK IS FUN! HAPPY 2018!
I can still remember watching in the News when JDAMS and Tomahawk Missiles hit targets during Operation Iraqi Freedom. I was like, "Damn is this right in the middle of Baghdad? Talk about Shock and Awe".. Then I saw this... I was like no way.
