    Oh my gosh I know this is a very old video. I have been nonstop watching the playlist on everything…
    I love everything that you do. My husband bought me a scroll saw for Christmas two years ago. I still have not even attempted to try to use it.
    Is it too late for me to see the class? I’ve learned a lot already just by watching you using it almost seems like a sewing machine! :-)
    You probably know by now already with painting the beads, putting them in a baggie with a tiny bit of paint machine and around and laying them out is the easiest, non-messiest way to do those. If you will let me know about the class. Not very good on the computer so I would need help finding it , I am still binge watching everything on the farmhouse! Everything is so beautiful that you do been doing. I have been watching nonstop

    I love this video. I can't choose a faviorite in this one, but the French books are very well done. I love the way you blenede the blues into the white clay. It gave them the perfect texture that an old book would have. This technique can be used in any background that needs extra texture and in ant color scheme. I love it !! I may have gone around the books with a couple of more twine. Maybe 4 times.
    This box is so perfect for storing anything. I love the
    No 5 and the key hole. They make the finishing touches to it !!
    I really like the beaded garlands. Yours is right up there with all of the others.
    I've watched many crafters paint beads. The best way I've seen is to string them on a wire then paint each side. Gets a more even coat on each bead.

    Oh Kelly I nearly died watching you paint those beads because I did the exact same thing the first time I made them! A suggestion would be to dilute a little paint down into a plastic container, drop the beads in and cover it. Roll it around until the beads are all covered then fish them out to dry on a piece of paper. Game changer! …and no paint spattered on your sleeves. (ask me how I know. ) Haha. Love your channel and your inspiration.

    With the clay on the book, curious why was glue not used to hold the clay on the books. Glue can be applied to clay when wet and cure as clay cures.
    The box would had had great appeal with black hardware to go with the “No 5”. Just my opinion.

    I was a little nervous when I saw that cool looking box. When you said you were going to paint it, I went Oh no! I would of sanded it n cleaned up the hinges (only bcuz I love old boxes) but as I watched the video it turned out so stinken cute. You painting the wheels real cleaver idea. Yep Kelly, you won me over. I just loved it. I’ve got a box close to your size n I’m going to copy it just like yours. Those beads turned out so nice. What a deal the price was. That’s cheaper than Amazon. I don’t think Michaels has them with different sizes either. Loved it!
    Books were very different. Your so clever at what you do. I suppose you could do the books in a different color. I’m not a blue girl except I do wear a lot of blue but don’t have it in my decor. Oh well, it doesn’t matter I’ll try it anyway.
    Your the best! See ya next Thursday my friend. OXOX

    Next time you have beads to paint use a cool whip bowl, pour your beads in, pour in some paint ( not alot ), put on the lid, shake them around and lay out on a cooling rack after they have had some time to dry in the bowl...

    I adore the old book technique!!! Did you need to use any adhesive for the paperclay to stay on the book? I’d think otherwise it would crumble off.

    • @FLEAMARKETRESCUE
      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope....I know it would seem that way, but truly you don't need to!!! Once that Paperclay dries...it's on there! If you're really worried...I guess you could use some Elmer's glue and then smoosh the Paperclay on top of it but it's not at all necessary. Hope that helps!

    I love that trunk! The books too. I have a question. I just started painting a dresser. 1 coat of chalk paint. But I can see that some spots will need to be primed. Can I mix my chalk paint with a paint and primer paint and will it cover that way? I did part of it with my chalk paint to see if it would bleed through, and in that spot it didn’t. But now that all of it is done 1 coat, there appear to be places all over the dresser that the original finish is coming through. 😕. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    • @glojk4315
      @glojk4315 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, what ‘power’ scroll saw do you recommend?

    • @FLEAMARKETRESCUE
      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know....I've never tried that!!! I always use a color matched paint and primer in one on the 1st coat. It's color matched to the chalk paint. I get that done at Home Depot. Then, my second coat is always the chalk paint. It sounds like you experimented with it when you did part of it with the mixed chalk paint....if it didn't bleed through then that should be good. Me personally, though....I probably would go over it doing a 3rd coat with some washed down chalk paint after that 2nd mixed coat dried....just to ensure I had the flat chalk paint look. Sometimes when you use a primer...it doesn't have that flat chalky look to it. It could be different because you did mix it together with the chalk paint. I don't know...because again...I've never done it this way, so I'm curious to the results. Let me know. Ok? Thanks!

      I love Craftsman Scroll saws, however, Sears has went out of business. You can pick one up on Facebook Marketplace, however, for not a lot of money. You just want to make sure you get one that has a dual speed. Now, if I were to get a new one...I'd buy the Ryobi and the Wen. They look like the way to go. Hope that helps! I cover all that in the class that will be out in a couple days.

    • @glojk4315
      @glojk4315 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The part I painted a head of time, was just regular chalk paint. Then I painted the entire thing with that chalk paint. As it dried, I started seeing the old finish coming through the chalk paint. 😕. I found a can of sealer, Zinsser, and just sprayed the whole dresser . I am hoping tomorrow to try the chalk paint again. I think I will do what you suggest from now on. A tinted primer would save so much time. Thank You!

    Things I HATE about apartment living......NO ROOM for large tools like a table saw, scroll saw, Large drill press, or even flipping large furniture =( Ughhh....If I had a garage or even a spare bedroom at this point, lol, Id just make it my "garage" and do all the furniture flipping my heart desires! It absolutely KILLS me to have to drive on by Free Furniture on the side of the road, esp when I see it and it clearly pops into my head all the things, or even that ONE thing I can do with it! Its like a blessing AND a curse to see in your mind almost immediately what you can do with what others may consider junk, lol!!!! I just had to drive by 2 pieces of really cool looking large pieces over the weekend because I just do not have a place to work on them. One day, hopefully Ill be able to move into a little home with a garage or even a spare room and a driveway, but until then I have to stick to the smaller things like that little trunk you did that I absolutely love! ;) And what a great price!

    • @FLEAMARKETRESCUE
      @FLEAMARKETRESCUE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Em22!! I know how frustrating that would be!!! You have so many creative ideas, but a space that doesn't allow for you to do them!!! I've driven past furniture on the curb while driving in my car and there is just NO WAY I'd be able to get it in there...I'd need a truck!!! Here I am...thinking about what I could do with this AMAZING piece, but I have no way of getting it home! Urgh!!!! I've had to leave it there and it's so disappointing....and you know it's going to be gone within 20 minutes!!! Anyway, I hope that you can get a place that you can do some more things in...like the scroll saw, furniture flipping....because it really sounds like a passion, so you need to be doing it! XOXO

    Exactly what was the point in painting all between the books when you've tied them together 🤔 surely you only needed to do the front cover & the back..
    You do seem to make things harder for yourself, those beads...why didn't you put them in a dish and do it and it would have done in half the time or post them on a long thin stick.

      Surely you can leave and find a better channel to watch. I love her "you can do you I'll do me" attitude and so do thousands of other people. She also has a shop where people actually buy her beautiful pieces. Kindness goes a long way. Take care and reword your criticism. Peace be with you.
