- Recorded for Top Gear, at BBC Maida Vale Studio 4, 120-129 Delaware Road, London, Tue. 18th August 1970. Broadcast on Saturday 19th September 1970. Produced by John Waters. Engineered by Bob Conduct and Nick Gomm.
Like the fact how it starts off quite busking country blues style and then goes into a more heavy Hawkwind before ending slightly more acoustic.
Like the Ramones of the sixties. Tremendous stuff.
I first heard this on Weird Tapes number 4. The title on there is "Came Home"
Also appeared later on Anthology vol III.
Line-up I believe is Brock, Turner, Ollis, Lloyd-Langton, DikMik & Crimble.
It's almost like it was the first time they took acid individually and collectively. So, they drop the acid, and the band starts playing some country and western stuff. All of a sudden at around 1.20, they start to peak and out comes the Hawkwind we all know and love. Then at around the 6 minute mark the acid starts to wear off and they go back into this C&W groove. Amazing stuff!! Thank goodness they dropped a ton of acid or Hawkwind might of ended up becoming a late 60s version of Hayseed Dixie! Yeehhhawww 🙃
The birth of a band right here.
thankyou thankyou thank you!! pure gold
Lovely, haven’t heard this one before
Snap where did this come from?
Sounds like John Peel radio show
Nice one first time I’ve heard this ( I think😳😎) .😎
Brilliant track, love it when someone digs up old material
this is the Stuff!
Can definitely hear some "Do It" by the Pink Fairies in this one!
Quite an odd track ;)
Keep digging out this treasure 😊
Is this their worst song or what?
Early Hawkwind, sounds crap but they obviously improved
