I’m not sure I understand what’s happening with Deadpool in this piece. Is it meant to be that Deadpool’s body is under the ground that’s been raised by Rhino’s punch? Great painting as always. 👍
@@jobgarside2719 That's how I took it. The force of the punch knocked him through the pavement and then buried him with the resulting debris. Maybe the physics don't work out perfectly, but it gets the idea across in a fun way.
That’s awesome. Thank you. I just got mine assembled and been worried about how to get an all grey character to look interesting, especially when he’s standing on a grey base. My Spider Foes are definitely my best looking models thanks to your guides.
The highlights and shading alone are phenomenal and I agree how impressive it is that you made gray as interesting and exciting as you made it. Good work as usual, sir!
I've been looking forward to this one! Just shows what you can do to make what is essentially a big lump of grey look really interesting 😁 By the way, the face absolutely makes it - excellent job Mark
Thank you! You can find PDF guides for Magneto and Carnage either on my Patreon, or for free on my website: sorastro.com/2021/03/01/magneto-pdf-painting-guide/ 🙂
Thanks a lot Casey! I usually cover the priming in a bit more detail in the first episode of each of my series, which would be the Captain America video in this case (although I've since switched to the Mr Finisher black primer) 🙂
Best part is Deadpool punched into the ground. Way to rise to the challenge because I thought for sure this would be a contrast paint and tradition face PDF.
Like everyone else is saying, the tonal variation with the grey is amazing. I'm gonna have to find something grey to paint now as I don't have this mini lol. Random question, but when is your album for Journeys in Middle Earth coming out?
Thanks a lot! Yeh, I had hoped to finish the album last year but personal circumstances kind of delayed things. I'll do my best to get it out this year 😁
Take your time, life always comes before this fun hobby! Can’t wait to hear the album, I love how you incorporate some of the distinct notes and sequences Howard Shore used in the movie soundtrack into your music sparingly, it really ties the music into Middle Earth but it still sounds like it’s own thing.
It looks great, out of curiosity where do you get the tiny paper attached to the base and what is white stuff sprinkled on the base? It looks a bit bigger than snow flock?
Thanks a lot, Brian! I think there are a few conversation charts floating around, and also some apps that do conversions etc. I don't use them myself though, so would have to look around.. 🙂
Love the series. So many other characters I would love to see but I watch even the characters I don't own or care for because I get ideas on how to approach certain textures and colors. Any interest in doing videos for Star Wars Shatterpoint when it comes out?
@@Sorastro That is great to hear! This will be my first time getting in on a new game as it releases. I like the scale and the more animated clone wars aesthetic of Shatterpoint. I've been painting long enough that I could pick the models up and paint them without any guides but I find your guides very relaxing, entertaining and great for learning and coming up with ideas for my projects.
@@Sorastro You're welcome... No quip about Rhino's not in Kansas? ;) I've been watching a lot of your videos and just marvel your skills in NMM and leathers.
I love your vids man but since you started painting Marvel stuff I don't think it's worth subscribing to your patreon. I am sure you got an audience for this but as someone who doesn't play this game it's kinda boring.
That's cool John! Patrons do come and go based on what games I am or am not covering, and I have learned to go with the flow. (Incidentally, out of my last 10 videos, just four have been for MCP). 😁
Favorite commentary of this video paraphrased: "This model would be great for contrast paints, but why go easy when you can go awesome!"
Ha ha, thanks buddy 😄
I love how you squeezed so much visual interest out of gray! Wonderful work Mark!
Thanks so much my friend! 😁
Wonderful to watch you work on all the subtle textures and colours on his hide.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Happy to see another MCP model! Great work!
Thanks a lot Scotty! 😀
I love Deadpool being punched into the ground. 😂
Ha, thanks Aaron 😁

I've never been so early!!! haha! Just picked up the best yesterday! Assembling today and probably just following this whole guide!!
Awesome! Have fun :)

Amazing how much tonal variation you accomplished on a "grey" character. Very helpful and wonderful to watch!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😀
Interest in MCP? Next to zero.
Listening to your commentary on a marvellous (😊) paint job? Over 9000!
Thank you for sharing!

I managed to paint iron man yesterday used your guide now to finish the rest of my starter set
Excellent! Have fun 😀
Been waiting for this!
The tonal and colour variations in what could have been a quite drab block of neutral hide are beautifully accomplished.
Thanks so much Terry! I really appreciate that 🙂
Great work as always! The scratch marks are a nice touch given rhino’s propensity for going through things.
Thanks Dustin! I'm glad you like him 😀
Absolutely wonderful. Always in awe of your work truly an inspiration.
Thank you my dude! 😊
Can we expect any more kingdom death? All your videos are great but those are just next level
Thanks a lot Jude! I will certainly be painting some more KDM (it just might be a while is all..) 😀
Amazing work as always !
Thanks a lot Goose! :)
That skin/armor would be great for a Middle Earth Cave Troll!
Ha, thanks! I think it might too.. 😁
Amazing and beautiful then again all your work is outstanding 😮
That's very kind - thank you sir! 😊
I love that deadpool leg, I was laughing for half the video
Excellent 😁
Amazing work!
Thanks so much Vlad! 😀
Great stuff, I really like this miniature - and excellent paint job as always 🙂
Thanks so much! I'm glad you like what I did with him 😊
Having just watched some 30's films in 60fp. On the base those groves are actually railroad/tram tracks set into the road.
Ah! Thank you 😀
Great!
Cheers Marco! 😀
Lindo trabalho, como sempre! Parabéns!
Thank you very much! 😊
Always great!
Thanks so much! :)
I love Deadpools leg! Getting punched into the ground by Rhino definitely seems like something that would happen to him.
Ha ha, right? 😁
Thank you
You're very welcome 😁
Is there a video that goes over more of the Mod Podge gap filling? That seems like a great way to do it!
Hey Andy! I haven't made a video specifically for that tbh, but I could do.. 🙂
It is awesome!
Thanks buddy! 😁
One of my favorite spider man villains 😊
Same! 😁
Me: *Can't get very good contrast using all the colors*
Sorastro using just gray:
Ha ha 😊
Wow!

Just wanna ask if there is any conversation chart for scale colour to citadel paint? It's hard to get scale colour in my country

When using Mod Podge for seam filling, are you adding anything to thicken it, like talc or corn flour? Great work on this as usual.
Thanks a lot! Nope, I usually just apply it neat, or even thinned slightly with a little water 😀
@@Sorastro Nice. I usually use green stuff, but I always hate the experience, tbh.
