I bought my KAC in 2010 and would never sell it. If for some reason I found myself in a situation where I had to replace my KAC there's no way I would pay $3000 + and wait months for another KAC when there are other fine high end rifles available today.

I don’t know why you’d want to change out the trigger, even for longer range. The two stage trigger is the same that was used in the MK12. It’s one of the best precision gas gun triggers.
If you actually owned one, you would see why. It's a good 2-stage, but the Geissele is definitely better. On the Knights, you don't really get a smooth first stage and the actual trigger break isn't as nice. You'll find lots of guys who swap out the Knights 2-stage for a different one.

My sr30 spent 4 weeks back with knights. finally got it back from RMA. Going to shoot hopefully in the next few weeks to make sure everything is good. I agree was out with a bunch of buddies who all wanted to shoot it and was for sure a heart-dropping moment when it turned into a single shot all the sudden for me.

I got a preban pre Mod2 SR that came with the faux birdcage and fixed stock originally. Everyone goes, "ooooh, Knight's....". Yup. And that's all i say. Still, very nice. Nothing exotic other than the bolt group finish, and that trigger is great.
So it wasn't just myself that thought Knights gave the civis the table scraps. Still nice stuff but I had one experience that left a bad taste in my mouth like you guys had.

Knights does not have a full ambi lower. Bolt release only on the right side. I’m glad you brought up the gas block and gas tube. They are not only threaded, but torqued as well. It is probably the best tuned gas system out there.

I don't see many people talk about what they do that makes them sturdy enough to not need anti-rotation tabs or staking the castle nut for redundancy. And I believe their gas system also uses a castle nut. Would be curious to know if it has a similar concept that doesn't require staking like the buffer tube castle nut or if it would benefit from staking.

Met a local cop at the indoor range I frequent and he had an SR-15 he bought as a patrol rifle. Offered to let me shoot it and I obviously took him up on that! Comforting to know my local guys are training and using badass kit like that.

Some claim "full ambi" yet, you cant lock the bolt to the rear from both sides. I like the American Defense Manufacturer ambi lower, but Id say the Radian is the best full ambi lower hands down. Knights is such an amazing company that makes some of the best AR style rifles there is. Their changes are small but innovative, noticeable, and effective. Although expensive, its hard to go wrong with the Knights. Great video, beautiful rifles, decent beards, hats off to ya gents. Good luck on your DM's.

knights makes phenomenal guns, and I used them and many others in my former profession, but I refuse to support a company that considers civilians “second class”. just personal preference.
@@collinjones311 I ran a knights 14.5 in 3/75 and also when I was at GRS as a contractor. they ran phenomenal. The QC is the real difference, Knights tests every gun that goes out for mil/gov contract(which they should) But from my understanding they only batch test civilian guns, and they only sell what are considered “2nds” to civilians. its usually something like a small scratch or ding but I’ve also seen out of spec bolts, untrue rails and several other issues. and anything that needs to be done at the factory is a guaranteed minimum six months, and you might get pushed back to the end of the line if a shipment of mil guns come in. All that being said, their guns run, and id trust my life to one without a problem, it’s more the mindset for me.
@@RyanCowley_ You know it's funny you say that, because my local gunsmith told me the same thing when I asked him what his thoughts were on KAC AR's. His shpeel is that we as civilians shouldn't only look at rifles if the company's been in multiple military contracts. Most of the time, these companies are gonna put the best versions of whatever came out the factory to mil/ gov and leftovers for civs.
@@RyanCowley_ that's rough, I don't like that at all. To be honest QC and poor service is why I sold my POF and bought a DD M4a1. There were parts of the POF that I much preferred, but the DD was well built and completely in spec. Their service has also been fantastic. Honestly Aero precision also completely surprised me with their quality. The ATLAS-R rail (full pic top rail) has been solid. I don't run NVG so I also don't need to mount any secondary aiming devices. The nitride 12.5 ballistic advantage barrel has also held up well. But as a civilian Daniel Defense, SOLGW, noveske and a select few other companies are in my opinion the best way to go for a quality carbine capable of handling hard use and adverse conditions.

Honest question, who exactly uses KAC SR15/16s? I know KAC gets Mil-Contracts for there SR25/M110 and suppressors but I don't know of anyone running their SR16's
I thought that until i bought a hk416 upper. The weight and recoil impulse makes it less appealing compared to a sr15. I would choose my kac cqb over my hk.

🐝 Question for Jake, being a a lefty why no left handed AR just ambi ? I have spent a good amount of time looking through your videos and haven’t seen anything. I primarily have have regular AR’s with ambi controls but I do have a left handed Stag and it is nice not getting brass flying by my face. Just wondering what your opinion is. Under my circumstances I can’t really shoot right handed for a lack of a few fingers in case anybody wants to tell me to just shoot right handed anyway.
Truthfully a righty gun with ambi controls works completely fine. Sometimes it’s more disruptive to change your manual of arms and then have different systems for different guns
The only real downside is the bcg, everything else is the same as far as interchangeable parts. I appreciate your opinion. Yall keep putting out great content. 1911s are and will always be the greatest.

Just the other day after discussing for a while with a PSA shill he eventually fessed up to the fact that he had to send two uppers back. Sample size of one, sure, but if one guy got two lemons it's evident that PSA skips QC and lets the customer handle it. When a PSA fails, it's because they pass the savings onto you. It's “just as good“ as long as you do PSA's job for them, and there's a 100 other suckers who don't shoot enough to send their stuff back. If everyone shot enough to find the issues with PSA, their business model would be unsustainable. When an expensive thing fails, I get furious because it shouldn't happen. When a PSA fails.... what did you expect?

KAC Gas system on 16'' and 14.5'' SR15s are in between Mid-Length and Rifle Length, not Carbine and Mid.
I’ve owned various rifles, touched and seen many other kinds, and always come back to the Knights.

My SR15 came with both buffers. Can’t remember which buffers they are

As a lefty the LMT bolt with its delayed action letting more gas out the front of the barrel like a MP5 and letting the bullet case contract making it easier to extract is my favorite BCG!🧠🤯🔫
knights makes phenomenal guns, and I used them and many others in my former profession, but I refuse to support a company that considers civilians “second class”.

@@collinjones311 I ran a knights 14.5 in 3/75 and also when I was at GRS as a contractor. they ran phenomenal. The QC is the real difference, Knights tests every gun that goes out for mil/gov contract(which they should) But from my understanding they only batch test civilian guns, and they only sell what are considered “2nds” to civilians. its usually something like a small scratch or ding but I’ve also seen out of spec bolts, untrue rails and several other issues. and anything that needs to be done at the factory is a guaranteed minimum six months, and you might get pushed back to the end of the line if a shipment of mil guns come in. All that being said, their guns run, and id trust my life to one without a problem, it’s more the mindset for me.
@@RyanCowley_ You know it's funny you say that, because my local gunsmith told me the same thing when I asked him what his thoughts were on KAC AR's. His shpeel is that we as civilians shouldn't only look at rifles if the company's been in multiple military contracts. Most of the time, these companies are gonna put the best versions of whatever came out the factory to mil/ gov and leftovers for civs.
@@RyanCowley_ that's rough, I don't like that at all. To be honest QC and poor service is why I sold my POF and bought a DD M4a1. There were parts of the POF that I much preferred, but the DD was well built and completely in spec. Their service has also been fantastic. Honestly Aero precision also completely surprised me with their quality. The ATLAS-R rail (full pic top rail) has been solid. I don't run NVG so I also don't need to mount any secondary aiming devices. The nitride 12.5 ballistic advantage barrel has also held up well. But as a civilian Daniel Defense, SOLGW, noveske and a select few other companies are in my opinion the best way to go for a quality carbine capable of handling hard use and adverse conditions.

For what it's worth there is a handful of videos on TH-cam showing kac bcg being within spec but barely which is simply causing them to run inefficiently gas wise.🤷🏼♂️.
One specifically on "sotar" actually shows the inspection with guages. Good, bad, who knows... Your story about bad bcg made me think about that

I know KAC gets Mil-Contracts for there SR25/M110 and suppressors but I don't know of anyone running their SR16's

I thought that until i bought a hk416 upper. The weight and recoil impulse makes it less appealing compared to a sr15. I would choose my kac cqb over my hk.

🐝 Question for Jake, being a a lefty why no left handed AR just ambi ? I have spent a good amount of time looking through your videos and haven’t seen anything. I primarily have have regular AR’s with ambi controls but I do have a left handed Stag and it is nice not getting brass flying by my face. Just wondering what your opinion is. Under my circumstances I can’t really shoot right handed for a lack of a few fingers in case anybody wants to tell me to just shoot right handed anyway.
Truthfully a righty gun with ambi controls works completely fine. Sometimes it’s more disruptive to change your manual of arms and then have different systems for different guns
The only real downside is the bcg, everything else is the same as far as interchangeable parts. I appreciate your opinion. Yall keep putting out great content. 1911s are and will always be the greatest.

Kinda funny when an expensive thing fails people say “well it’s just a lemon and I still trust it with my life ” but when a palmetto gun or any other brands fail (which is probably not as often and they think) “it’s cause that thing sucks” 🤔 point is, I feel like just because something is more expensive people automatically think it’s way better solely because of the price tag sometimes…but what do I know. Anyway, good content guys 👍.
Just the other day after discussing for a while with a PSA shill he eventually fessed up to the fact that he had to send two uppers back. Sample size of one, sure, but if one guy got two lemons it's evident that PSA skips QC and lets the customer handle it.
When a PSA fails, it's because they pass the savings onto you. It's “just as good“ as long as you do PSA's job for them, and there's a 100 other suckers who don't shoot enough to send their stuff back. If everyone shot enough to find the issues with PSA, their business model would be unsustainable.
When an expensive thing fails, I get furious because it shouldn't happen. When a PSA fails.... what did you expect?
