This is why you should always let them know what your baseline is and what isnt normal for you. I run in the 90's and have been standing and very alert at 88. I run naturally low and freak out when we hit 100 as that is high for me. Know you and you help people not to freak out over nothing or help you when you really need it for you!😊
HyPOtension (low BP) is a thing, too. It could indicate severe dehydration, internal bleeding, heart failure... or you just be a person who runs a little light in that department. ✋ Same thing: document over time (not just one or two) along with any signs/symptoms you experience. Then take all that in to your doctor for a professional viewpoint. (No, Dr. Google doesn't count!)
Fun fact! Blood pressure can also be chronically _low_ for some people! Some people just have naturally low blood pressure! (This is me. Hi! I'm the problem!) But if your blood pressure is unusually low, it can indicate internal bleeding or a problem with your heart! If low have chronically *low* blood pressure, please let your nurses & doctors know so that they don't have a panic attack when they measure your blood pressure! 🤣
@joywebster2678 We're actually looking into mine. We suspect it may be related to POTS, since I have a really low heart rate that spikes when I stand too quickly, and I can't seem to exercise without getting very dizzy.
@joywebster2678 Yeah, I've had the same trouble. It's hard just getting in to see a cardiologist. Luckily (😅) my doctor found an arrhythmia, so I'm using that as an "in" to see one. My plan before was to just try the CHOP exercise protocol and see if that helps the symptoms improve. Since that's usually the treatment for POTS as far as I can see. It's that or the levine protocol, but that requires a physical therapist & a diagnosis. 😓
Or even just hurrying a little to get to your appointment on time because yiu might be running late due to traffic, etc. mine have always tended to be lower than others!
Invest in a decent cuff, learn to use it properly, and check what yours reads against the clinic equipment. And have them write both down. So if you bring your cuff and play back your readings there’s a baseline!

Oh. and do NOT get me started on how badly anxiety affects blood pressure!

@xerofelix7090 yes I figured out I have EDS, no one will test for POTS.

And if you go to your doctor you might get a high reading anyway because of white coat syndrome.

Or... You're rushing and stressing cause you're running behind and could/will be late.
Which....Raises the blood pressure
