To be fair those cyclone machines have a setting for the arcade owner that can make the machine randomly lose some percentage of the time even if you time it perfectly. That “adult that shouldn’t be in the laser tag game” is 100% accurate. When I was a literal ten year old child two college kids held me down in the corner and spammed my vest in an attempt to beat the high score.
I worked as a ref at a laser tag place for 2 years, i swear every weekend there would be atleast one cheater that was way way too old to be cheating at laser tag. One time a group of 30 somethings came in without any kids and as soon as the game starts they all flipped their vests inside out.... its kinda scary having to go up to a VERY muscular adult and tell him he has to leave when he could clearly ragdoll me.
this game is a lot more surreal in survival mode where you're the only human inhabitant left on an abandoned island trying to survive by playing arcade games for food

Actually getting it on time is basically random chance which is why its so ever present and successful. Not even a precisely timed machine can base it off of lights in ideal conditions. I am fairly sure the game doesnt have this built into their version of that game
