Wow … amazing. I use leaves A LOT for all kinds of eco dyeing and gel printing. But this is completely new to me, and it looks fabulous. I always use leaves from mine and neighbours’ gardens, who let me take their stuff. I also pick stuff up from fields etc. And, did you know, you can freeze leaves and flowers … rather than buying them or even pressing them in your home? Wonderful … thank you so much for sharing. ❤
It’s interesting because I was searching for videos on eco dyeing when I found The Danish Painters video. The technique of using watercolors intrigued me. I didn’t know you could freeze leaves. So cool! I want to try this method with acrylic ink as well. Thanks for watching! 😍
Trina, how did you know I was searching for ways to print with botanicals, TODAY?! LOVE what you did here! I've never seen botanical prints used in this way. I adore your restrained, delicate touch and serene palettes. Love your work, grateful to have found you!
This is so interesting & cool! I don’t know why, but the bottom half reminded me of a really crunchy coarse sand beach with loads of big shell fragments. And the contrast with the more smooth middle section & the dark “water” & light smooth sky is really fascinating. Especially once you used the matting border. I’ve watched that artist’s work before & keep meaning to collect some leaves & grasses to try that with my Ink Sorays & Stains. The dried ones are a perfect choice as they are nice & flat. I wonder if I can toughen mine up a bit so I can reuse them 🤔
It does look like seashells. I really like how the leaf resist turned out. I want to try with acrylic ink and distress oxide sprays. That should be messy fun! I wonder if you put a light coat of matte medium on the leaves if that would preserve them.🤔 Thanks my friend! 😍
Good Monday morning Trina…hope you had a wonderful weekend! Well this was an interesting start for the week…I love those leaf impressions and it gives me many more ideas! Only recently I have been leaning towards mixed media and this is why I love your channel. You don’t stick to any one technique and what I love about mix media is if it doesn’t work out then make it into something else! I love the challenge. Have a wonderful day and thanks once again for your video posts! 😊 Forgot to add that I think this piece turned out great!
Oh my goodness! Just today I had a template play with plant material! Ya reading my mind? Wanted to see what I could do with a botanical print for collage on the MEP. Was an interesting go but someone in there yet. In fact I don’t think I’m anywhere anymore with my “art”! Idk what has happened but I can’t do anything I like!! Idk what to do?
@@MixedMediaArtByTrina I just finished watching the video. I love it but I think dealing with the lead process is too fiddly for me and was thinking that maybe a stencil of leaves and drag it thru the gravy might work. Put down the color and pencil marks and apply the stencil as a mask? Whatcha think?
@@swl9270 great idea! Using a leaf stencil would definitely work. I might try that with the tree stencil. I really like the subtle marks from the leaves. It feels more organic for me. It did add time to the process and you know I’m impatient but I think it was worth it. Thanks my friend! 😍
@@MixedMediaArtByTrina oh definitely it was impressive! I’m just not in the mood for fiddley stuff right now. I’ve been binge watching the Danish Painter. I so want to loosen up! I’m even stuck with the collage stuff!things
New to your channel and loving your style and playfulness but found myself really distracted and frustrated by the excessive ads. I'm a creator as well and know that ads are critical to keeping your business going but I don't know if I can keep watching your videos with so many of them interrupting your videos. Just my 2 cents. Hope to see more of your stuff with fewer interruptions in future. All the best!
You might want to consider getting TH-cam Premium. It eliminates all ads . It’s not a lot of money per month, and I find it makes watching videos SO much more enjoyable.

I got the same pack of dried leaves, very fragile. Lovely piece.
They were so delicate. Lesson learned. Thanks for watching! 😍

When I’m stuck I tape off some paper into four or six squares, get out my biggest brush and play. It can shake up your creativity. You got this! 😍
Can you tell where to get the “tree” stencil you used?
I got it from Temu. 😍
Hi! Are you red stung with a white crayon or is it a result crayon?
@@kathhicks6439 hello! I’m using a white oil pastel in this video. You can always use a white crayon as well. Thanks for watching. 😍
Trina, it is very inspiring! You did a great job! Are you on instagram? And did you just by dried leaves off of Amazon?
Thank you! I did buy the leaves from Amazon, however, they were really fragile. My instagram is @mixedmediatrina. 😍
What company made the tree stencil?
It came from TEMU.
