Thank to your previous videos I was able to change the engine on my 2013 hyundai genesis coupe 3.8 r-spec 6 speed manual. And I was able to do without breaking anything and put it all back like stock. I truly appreciate everything you show in your videos. I have subscribed and I look forward to more of your content. But do you know anything about the fog lights. On the passenger side I only get 10.3 volts to the plug. I have traces the wire I see no problems with it. Also checked all the fuses in the 3 boxes. But I can't seem to figure out why I can't get 12 volts to the plug. Yes I could rewire it but I would like to fix it back to factory spec. No rigged stuff.

Is the gearbox, the engine support, the differential the same as the 3.8gdi?

I’m assuming the engine spun a bearing

Couldn’t find much info... does the BK1 2.0T fit/swap into a BK2 2.0T? What modifications are needed to be done? Blew my motor in my BK2 & looking for alternatives. Just want to make sure a 2011 fits in my 2014

      No

From what I've read online it would work you just have to swap all the bk2 accessories over to the bk1 engine

I just did that personally after watching this video. Never did mechanics in my life until I bought a 2013 Genesis Coupe from my local Kenny Upull scrap yard with a blown engine. They also had a 2010 Genesis coupe RSpec with a good engine.
Only took me 12 hours to get the bad engine out first.
5 hours to get the good engine out of the donner car and 2.5 hours to get the good engine reinstalled.
The other 80.5 hours was learning how to rebuild emergency brakes, changing the rotors and Brembo brakes over, removing transmission, changing the clutch and figuring out what parts actually needed to go where. Semi nightmare for me but it’s running now! 🙌🙌😇
The actual changes to the engines was this:
      - on the 2013 engine, keep the exhaust/ plastic intake manifolds, the turbo, catalytic converter, A/C & oil pump. Need the engine wiring harness too. (There’s one type of electrical connection that has one screw holding it to the engine not far from the fuel injector rail that stays with the wire harness because the 2010 used a different electrical connection for the same electrical thingy)
      - I removed all of the same things off the 2010 engine so I was pretty much left with just the block.
      - reinstall all the 2013 parts onto the 2010 engine block and insert into car. Vroom vroom! 🙌🙌
Note: Just because the wiring harness will fit onto the 2010 intake manifold with a little pipe change - DON’T! I tried that first and spent at least 12 hours trying to trace down why it would only run on 2 cylinders, had loads of error codes 🥵. When I finally changed the whole intake manifold, it fired right up and all the codes went away - oh happy day!! 👍😇

Just get a rebuild kit for the internals under 2k online for forged internals and bearings so probably cheaper than a whole new bengine and bk2 is better

I've been wondering, what's with all the drama regarding engines you guys built that blew up? I've heard there were like, 8 of them. I know there's two sides to every story, so I'm curious what your side is on it. So much trash talking on Genesis fb groups

Does anyone know if a Hyundai genisis 2.0t 2011 fits a 2013 model. Need a engine replacement but i only found a 2011 version and not sure if it will fit my 2013

    • @creedrichard4989
      @creedrichard4989 ปีที่แล้ว

      a 2011 is a bk1 and a 2013 is a bk2 so it wouldnt fit.

The g70s have a tsb out due to the blower motor fuse burning through the fuse box.. meaning you have to replace the entire front wiring harness.. which involves dropping the engine and removing the dash out … fun times ahead
