The Finnish word for 'love (rakkaus)' contains so much emotion that the English word 'love', which is tossed around here and there like in this and countless of other songs, in comparison feels like nothing. In the end, Pandora learns to express 'mä rakastan sua' and this single Finnish 'I love you' phrase overpowers the previous numerous English 'I love you's :D That's how I interpret the song anyway, and find it to be a lot of fun also in that respect! For the non-Finnish viewers, and why not some younger Finnish viewers as well, the Finnish lyrics are full of references to old Finnish hits from past decades. For instance, "saat multa horsman" is from Irwin Goodman's "Rentun ruusu", and "Assanvessakassa" was a hit byt the short-lived but popular trio "Mascara". There are more, perhaps more modified references, I should read the lyrics with thought, but any way, now you know. Oh yeas, and the T-logo on the arcade games was the logo of T-kauppa, a Finnish grocery store chain, that disappeared in 90's.

I am VERY impressed with the level so far, Finland! I love the retro vibes, the chorus is extremely catchy and the aesthetics are EVERYTHING. This could do well in Rotterdam. Yeah it deffo lacks the wow factor. I’m actually suprised JS16, who is super talent, was satisfied with only the irony level when there was other levels that could’ve been reached as well, production-wise. Disappointed if this won’t be Finland’s song though.

I thought I’d share some info about Teflon Brothers for the international fans! Since I’m a fan of Finnish rap and I think they’re really interesting. Teflon Brothers has been a thing for 15 years now and they’ve had great mainstream popularity since 2012. So finally an actually popular Finnish act is wanting to represent us! The band’s music is all about partying and as a project they’re trying to be as mainstream as possible. They have been really ironic about the whole thing but at the same time real serious and I think even they don’t know what is what anymore. The three members are childhood friends. First there is Pyhimys (meaning The Saint), whose solo career is actually more popular than the group itself, he’s one of the most popular Finnish artists of the recent years. His solo music is rap with deep and meaningful lyrics and in 2019 he won 6 Finnish Grammys with his hit record and the record’s biggest hit Jättiläinen (a Giant) had a feature from UMK’s last year’s winner Aksel Kankaanranta. Heikki Kuula also has a solo career where he has done more classic hiphop, punk rap etc. The third member is Voli who has only done music as a member of Teflon Brothers. Their whole career has been parodying different rap styles and stages of popularity. When they started, they were parodying an ug hiphop group rising up from their neighbourhood. They did three records with that gaining a bit of success until they had an idea. What if Teflon Brothers were to “sell their soul” to the music industry and break out to mainstream success? So they did just that and succeeded. They’ve done some really weird things in media, for example they sold a membership in their band for 50 000€ in Huuto.net (Finnish ebay) and poker player Ilari Sahamies bought it and actually joined in for two songs. They also changed their name for Mynthon Brothers for a while to promote mouth fresheners. They also released their biography telling their life story in 2019 called Teflon Bible and I think the name already tells you all you need to know about the book. Their peak was in 2014-2016 when they had many top dance hits but they’re still really popular here. Their last record was all about making big party hits and I think their next plan might be making Europe-wide hits, participating in Eurovision and of course they’re planning about winning the whole thing. (And maybe achieving world domination? Who knows!) If you wanna get to know the band a bit more I’d recommend their possibly three biggest hits: - Hubba Bubba (the bubblegum brand), they reminisce their youth and love in school disco. - Pämppää (meaning a word for getting drunk in a really weird slang), where they just talk about getting drunk for 3 minutes. - Maradona (kesä ´86) (about the football player RIP), where they once again reminisce their youth and love but while watching a football match. (Also if you’re a fan of The Rasmus, Lauri Ylönen has done a cover of this song in a tv show, look it up!) Also if you wanna see the contrast between Teflon Brothers and their serious solo careers I’ll recommend a few more songs. From Pyhimys - Jättiläinen feat Aksel Kankaanranta (a Giant), he talks about how hard it is to raise your own child and follow in your father’s footsteps in life. - Nyt (Now), a song about trying to deal with mental health problems and how hard it is. - v!@%#mikko (fuck mikko), a little confusing song about dealing with his success and artistry. From Heikki Kuula - Rataraato (Roadkill), if you’re an asshole you’re gonna live a bad life, and he’s an asshole. - Hasla ei friistailaa (A drug dealer doesn’t freestyle), a song about how you have to think carefully about what you say if you’ve got things to hide.

They also changed their name for Mynthon Brothers for a while to promote mouth fresheners. They also released their biography telling their life story in 2019 called Teflon Bible and I think the name already tells you all you need to know about the book.
Their peak was in 2014-2016 when they had many top dance hits but they’re still really popular here. Their last record was all about making big party hits and I think their next plan might be making Europe-wide hits, participating in Eurovision and of course they’re planning about winning the whole thing. (And maybe achieving world domination? Who knows!)
If you wanna get to know the band a bit more I’d recommend their possibly three biggest hits:
- Hubba Bubba (the bubblegum brand), they reminisce their youth and love in school disco.
- Pämppää (meaning a word for getting drunk in a really weird slang), where they just talk about getting drunk for 3 minutes.
- Maradona (kesä ´86) (about the football player RIP), where they once again reminisce their youth and love but while watching a football match. (Also if you’re a fan of The Rasmus, Lauri Ylönen has done a cover of this song in a tv show, look it up!)
Also if you wanna see the contrast between Teflon Brothers and their serious solo careers I’ll recommend a few more songs.

Ehdottomasti hyvä että osa sanoista on suomeksi. Siitä pitäis Euroviisubiiseissä lähteä, että edes osa sanoista omalla kielellä.
Englanninkielisillä biiseillä tuntuu kuitenkin olevan selvä etulyöntiasema.
Toistaiseksi vasta Albanialla on tällä hetkellä ei-englanninkielinen kisabiisi tulossa viisuareenoille. Ranska aikoo myös suosia tänä vuonna omaa kieltään.
Kun Euroviisujen kielisääntö kuopattiin lopullisesti 1999, niin senkin jälkeen Albanian ja Ranskan lisäksi muutama muukin ei-englanninkielinen osallistujamaa on suosinut enimmäkseen omaa kieltään; mainittakoon esimerkkeinä Espanja, Portugali ja Italia sekä Serbia ja pari muutakin entisen Jugoslavian maata.
Isot rispektit siitä, pakko arvostaa. 👍

Taattua Teflon Brothersia. Säkeistöjen sanat on ihan mahtavia kuten odottaa voikin. Kertosäe on varsinainen korvamato, joka kappaleen jälkeen jää soimaan päähän. Pandora laulaa edelleenkin hyvin ja tämä soundi sopii hänelle vallan mainiosti. Kertosäkeen sanoitus olisi voinut olla monipuolisempaa, tosin jo mainittu tarttuvuus saa jo melkein unohtamaan koko asian.
Täysin samaa mieltä. Kertsin sanojen yksipuolisuudenkin saa kokonaan anteeksi kun ottaa sanoman huomioon.
Kertsissä on voimakas sanoma, telepaattinen, mutual attraction.. mental interaction
Kontrastia on haettu, allegria melankoli Pandoran lauluosuuksissa, ja hallitsee sen täysin, ja sekoittaa kuulijan pään. Tässä viedään kuin pässiä narusta.

TeflonB ovat taitavia tekemään iskeviä ralleja. Tässäkin rappiosuudet ja kertosäkeeseen meno on hittikamaa. Vähän tyyli hajoaa kertosäkeessä, mutta se jää samalla parhaiten mieleen. Varmasti on paras valinta ja TeflonB biisit menestyisivät todennäköisesti isoimmillakin artisteilla.
