Its some weird OCD thing that "looks" cool. Kinda like the constant hair fixing/finger comb. If you watch other channels you will see how hard these guys to emulate others.
Sometimes hitting off turf leaves plastic on the bottom of the club. It's not too bad with a few swings, but if you don't take it off and let it build up it can get pretty hard to take off. Still pretty funny though.
Garrett, if you guys don't already have this, you may want to look into the special Pro V1 RCT's as they seem to help eliminate Trackman occasionally spin wrong indoors
So Grant that sounds like the rattle of destiny and it’s fixable sometimes but not a guarantee. So if it is in the club head it is the small piece of metal that keeps the shaft from going to far into the head. It tends to break on a bad hit close to the shaft it was more common on older drivers that weren’t adjustable. But now that swing speeds are so high even on woods and hybrids it happens to them. They usually put tacky on a cue tip and let it grab the piece then stick it to the inside of the club. The only issue is if the piece is to big it can break loose again. I have 2 drivers that have it. One they couldn’t fix and the other they did but it will break free from time to time. Take it to a professional club smith and they can at least give it a try.
Tip - when you hit a shot in the rough, Trackman gives a power and spin % in the bottom right corner. Thicker rough will take a good amount of distance off, and the spin % helps around the green.
Grant there is either a chip of expoxy or a shaft fragment that has come loose in the head of your club, remove the grip and it will come out! Had the same problem with my 3 wood!
love it more trackman matches. If you want it to be a little more challenging, put it on hard greens and play like Muirfield village. also use the manual putting. Its a great way to interact with fans - you can create a tournament, like saturday/ sunday matches and let guys like me participate from Denmark!
Do you guys have those special trackman balls from titleist? Trackman indoors has trouble with gear effect and spin axis (toe strikes that should hook become blocks; heel strikes that should fade become pulls). The titleist balls for trackman solve a lot of these issues and are more accurate.
Unless they got this for free they should have sprung for the Foresight GC Quad. They are better indoors. Trackman has the issues you mentioned pretty much indoors from what I recall. Trackman needs to track the ball longer from what I understand to get best data.
@@The_Osprey I find trackman to be horrible for accuracy. I hit a tiny cut on the golf course, trackman shows 200 yards straight then 50 yards hard left.
As a brit, I really wanna see you play this in even 'average' St Andrews conditions (i.e 15mph winds and intermittent rain!). You guys are so good that this course is too easy in these conditions for ya

A suggestion for the simulator Garrett - a buddy of mine did this and it really adds to the realism of it, where the artificial turf is where you tee off, you should add a strip of thicker turf, and then one more of even thicker stuff to simulate when you do hit it in the rough, 2nd cut etc. So when you do on the sim you put the ball in the appropriate rough - makes it a bit more interesting.
3:08 Grant. Epoxy has fallen off into the club head and is rattling around freely. The club is very unlikely to break. Bring it to any club shop and they can fix it.
Y’all need to do an appreciation video on what each good good member brings to the table and the friendship that makes y’all the best creators on TH-cam
Grant, that rattle could be a piece of epoxy that has broken loose. Take the grip off and see if you can make it come out. Could also be that the screw that adjusts the club head is not seated correctly or completely tightened.
@@wicker849 yeah I’m a member at Lundin Links and the Dukes golf resort in St. Andrews and the average round is always between 20-30mph. I’ve also played on the old course in the rain plus the wind which was 25mph with gusts of 40mph.
the 1st hole is one of the widest fairways in the world. Grant "it's so narrow up there". The 1st/18th fairway (they are the same area) is as wide as the driving range at St. Andrews so if you can hit a driving range you should be good :D
Grant, like others have mentioned check your adjustable weight on the sole of your hybrid if you haven’t already. Had the same sound with my driver this summer and the adjustable weight had come loose a little and sounded just like that.
I felt the same way using trackman. Those 20-50 yard shots are feel shots so in person seeing them vs a screen is hard to get used to but you seem to get it already. 😂
Make sure you have your rubber stopper between your shaft and club head if its an adjustable head and if it is also check if the set screw is loose or striped
Keep in mind a couple things with the sim. 1. It’s not the best for side spin (indoors) it just goes off the angle of the face most times. So you’ll see you hit it heely and it draws instead of fading etc. (why grant hit so many pushes and no draws.) 2. Hit with clean clubs if you have dirt on your club and it gets on the ball then the screen it can stain the screen/ cut it.
the conditions and the rough make st andrews so difficult. it is so, so open out there and its very often raining or storms. try setting wind speed to high on your simulator for a more realistic view of the course! and if you can make it rain then youre nearly there! good vid though boys, nice studio too btw... edit: of course, im late and people already basically said this lol
@grant I believe sand has slid into your grip hole and that's causing your shaft to make that noise. I could be wrong here but if you changed grips and flipped your shaft upside down you'd see it come out.
In the little map down right corner, when the TM aims let’s say a little left in the fairway, thats your aimingpoint if u hit it straight forward if understand? You can put that little aiming cirkle wherever u want and thats your aiming point👍🏽 might be the reason some of the shots go a different direction🤷🏽♂️
The thing about the track man is that it does not pick up side spin and only goes off club path and face angle. Foresight also has sidespin so it is more accurate inside.
A really cool video series idea would be to play a course on the trackman then go to the course in real life and see if you can beat your virtual score. 🤔
I’m from Scotland played the old course loads of times, not a long course but it’s the weather that gets you, winds are always horrible and is pissing it down with rain half the time
GRANT NEEDS TO TIGHTEN HIS SCREW WITH THE LITTLE TOOL THAT COMES WITH THE HYBRID! This happened to me right before state finals and I had a heart attack.
I believe St Andrews is the oldest "continuously operated" course. The other coarse, which I can't remember the name of, opened earlier but had an interruption in operation.
Grant, I’ve had the same “tink-tink” sound in one of my clubs. I took it in to get looked at and they told me it was dried glue pieces fro re-shafting the club.
Grant, normally that sound is a loose weight or bit of glue or something like that in the shaft. Usually means no danger for the club to break or snap!!
The rubber washer in the shaft adaptor may be bad allowing too much slack just replace it. If the rattle is in the clubhead you can add hot melt and stick the piece to it. If it comes loose again just use a hair dryer to heat the head and it will catch. Lastly if it's in the shaft just take the grip off and shake out the debris.
The thing is trackman for St Andrews would be a lot easier than actually playing in the Scottish elements. St Andrews proven by the open either has teeth with wind and hard to play or without wind throwing darts. Scottish weather determines how the course plays. Musselburgh old course is the oldest course which is intertwined with Musselburgh race course.
Last 4 open winning totals at St Andrew's speaks a little differently, -15, -16, -17 & -19 sounds like the easiest of open courses to be fair as the scores are always low.
I have idea, GRat! What if you guys played tee shots and your approach shots on the Trackman and then used the practice putting mat that Stephen bought at the GG office? That way you have a chance once you're on the green to gain strokes on your opponent? A guaranteed birdie inside of 10' isn't realistic, although I know it's fair for the match.
