Great video, Ali!! I have The Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom as well. I haven't read them yet, but since you really liked them, I'm going to read them next month. Anyhoo, I hope that you're having a great day so far and enjoy your readings. Take care, sweetie ❤❤❤.
Gurll...I love six of crows so much and recommend it to everyone who wants some recommendations and seeing my one of the favourite booktubers read it made my day💖💖....love your videos alott
girliiieee I need ur answer so I’ve never read a fantasy book right and I’ve loved the premise of six of crows it felt unique so I bought it and this past week I have been trying to read it but I feel more confused I’m only like 16 pages in and I picked up another book and I don’t know if I should go back to it cuz I’m so interested plus I never read any Leigh Bardugo book so yh thank u in advance
@@ikramsdigitaldiary it can get pretty confusing at the start but it's so worth it, trust me!! it's one of my favourite books :) I'd say read until page 100 and then if you're still not enjoying it maybe it's just not for you
The Book Thief is such a good winter read, you need to read it soon! You might need to keep a tissue box close, because man, will that kiss make you cry
I am so glad you have the same mentality about thrillers/mysteries as I do: the end has to be satisfying. I always feel like I rate that genre so low because of that. But this is validating so thank you.
LOVE Six of Crows. The main reason why there's only five POV's in Six of Crows and yet there's six in Crooked Kingdom, is that in the beginning of the duology, Wylan is supposed to be an outsider. He's supposed to be someone for the reader to relate to in a way. He's the character who we don't get to see in the mind of at first and instead both we and him are being pulled into this world of mystery and criminality and at first being apalled by it, but slowly learning why these characters are the way they are. By the time we reach book two, Wylan has been caught up in this as well and so have we, therefore we learn more about him and we finally get to see inside his head. We get to bond with this guy who up until Crooked Kingdom starts has been a little overshadowed by the other crows. It's a masterclass in writing and making you fall in love with these characters. I will always treasure what these two books do and how wonderfully written they are. An absolute treasure in our bookish world.
i filmed this video too last month!! i was shocked that six of crows was not the highest rated book on my physical tbr, but was pleased it was the nightingale by kristin hannah! so happy you enjoyed six of crows - i def need to pick it up finally!
I actually listen to that specific playlist too!!! I found a few songs that I really prefer and started building my own personal playlist with the songs that I find don’t distract me 😅
This was a fun video 😊 I don’t look at ratings before reading because then I also end up looking at the goodreads reviews and lately there’s just been too many spoilery quotes that people put at the beginning of the review :/ I would rather go into the book not knowing much but I do love hearing booktubers thoughts
It’s actually pronounced like Keh-Beck. Glad you enjoyed your time in that province of Canada. I’m curious about Six of Crows and the whole Grisha-verse.
Great vlog💕. I completely agree with about ratings and reviews. Reading is so subjective. How you felt about the first book that you read is how I felt about Just one damned thing for another by Jodi Taylor. I hated the narrator of that story and things kept happening out of nowhere so I gave it 1 star. I sometimes get disappointed with really popular books as well such as the Crowns of Nyaxia duology by Carissa Broadbent. I still enjoyed those books but definitely not as much as I thought I was going to because of the hype around them.
I typically only give 1 stars to books that offend me and I obviously have to hate the book itself too, so pretty similar to your system. And I think there's only been 3 books I’ve rated a 1 star, which was Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco, Lovely Dark and Deep by Justina Chen, and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne.
Would you recommend finishing the shadow and bone trilogy before six of crows? I did not like shadow and bone that much but six of crows seems so worth reading!!
About the how do you read your book. I read my book with music with lyrics(don't ask me how sometimes I don"t even know. I get distracted sometimes tho). Most of the time I also search the book on spotify and find the playlist with the most songs that I know. I also discovered some new songs to just listen to while I am not reading.
the lake was pretty bad i loved preston’s silence series in middle school so i got a bunch of her mysteries when i got into reading as an adult and they’ve all been a disappointment except for the cellar
I should’ve mentioned it in the video bc that is confusing but the book is a hardcover and I took the dust jacket off at some point. So it’s black with the dust jacket and red with no dust jacket on it
I've read Shadow and Bone but still need to read Six of Crows!!! Btw, I really enjoy listening to music while I read, somehow vocals just help me focus even more 🫢

SHE READ SIX OF CROWS SHE READ ALI READ, I’m so happy bcs it’s one of my favsvsvs
I loved that her special edition of Six of Crows has illustrations because we should normalise illustrations in adult books
Meanwhile people are complaining about illustrated covers on adult romances...crazy😭

Omg your special editions are so pretty!!! I have a few of those books on my list, so your ratings are making me very eager to read them!
Omg so happy to see my city in the video! Hope you enjoyed Québec City (and all the construction hahaha)!! 🫶

Yay! Im so happy you finally read six of crows💖💖
That edition of six of crows is so beautifu 😍
the “acotar ambience” playlist on spotify is my fave playlist to listen to when reading!
your blanket looks so cozy 😭❤️
I loveeee that you visit part of Quebec! Im a french canadian and feel like Americans never come here, it’s more European tourist! Great vid ❤
Yesss it was so beautiful and amazing food!! One of my favorite vacations
I really love that you don’t spoil the book but give us enough to be excited to read the book.❤
the fact that nobody talks about the book called Manifestation Hacks by Olivia Cooper speaks volumes about how people are stuck in a trance.
I think the highest rated book I own is either 'It' or 'The Shining' and the lowest rated is either 'Rage' or 'Dreamcatcher'.

was waiting for your video after your Goodreads update about six of Crows
Omg Quebec mentionned!
such a cute video idea!!! also im in looove with the hearts sweater! so cozy
You should do a version of this series where you read the books with the most and least amount of ratings.
I actually listen to that specific playlist too!!! I found a few songs that I really prefer and started building my own personal playlist with the songs that I find don’t distract me 😅
Omg u look so pretty in the thumbnail i love your hair💘🤩

Whenever you get to Down the Drain, you MUST listen to the audiobook!!!
It’s actually pronounced like Keh-Beck. Glad you enjoyed your time in that province of Canada. I’m curious about Six of Crows and the whole Grisha-verse.
When I listen to instrumental music I feel way more immersed in the book

Welp, looks like I need to read the Shadow & Bone series before I touch my copy of Six of Crows. I’m trusting you.
I read the Six of Crows duology for the first time this year and I gave the books the same ratings as you did - 4.5 and 5 😂
I've heard so much of fantasy books, but I can never finish them. It's just to much. I love crime, mystery and thrillers.
Time to read King of Scars/Rule of Wolves 👀
I love Ali, she is awesome! 😎
If you read the books, the Shadow and Bones first season is great! Season 2 was clearly rushed which was disappointing. 😢
I typically only give 1 stars to books that offend me and I obviously have to hate the book itself too, so pretty similar to your system. THE WAY I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW SIX OF CROWS IN THE THUMBNAIL AHHH
I listen to grey noise while reading.. Helps me focus more with what's happening with the plot/story

I absolutely love Christmas Everything, but I wish I had never ever ever read Wreck The Halls. I should have DNF'd what a book. 😂
Oh nooo 😭😭😂
Where is your chair from it is so cute. ❤
Can you do a video on YA books
I tried to read Six of Crows but I was so bored for some reason! That being said i only got up to page 47 lol
the lake was pretty bad i loved preston’s silence series in middle school so i got a bunch of her mysteries when i got into reading as an adult and they’ve all been a disappointment except for the cellar
ALI !!! your end screen got moved and its popping up at 20:39 instead of the end of your video
NEW ALI VID NEW ALI VID!! 🤩
wait i am confused the six of crows book changes colour or do you have one red and one black?
I should’ve mentioned it in the video bc that is confusing but the book is a hardcover and I took the dust jacket off at some point. So it’s black with the dust jacket and red with no dust jacket on it
Not. I usually watch the reading challenge during the year to see where a certain book fits
Wowwww
