I've lived in the NY area for a while, and 2 of my favorite places on MacDougal St (that you could go to next time) are Mamouns Falafel (in fact you can see the Mamouns Falafel banner at 9:51) and Creperie (opposite Mamouns). Magnolia is always really good and if you like cheesecake, Junior's Cheesecake (on 45th St between 7th and 8th in Manhattan) is always a good bet in NYC.
