    you can vacume , but you can also add a small bit of copper pipe next to the routerand use air to blow away the wood chips. will make a bigger mess , but save your bits.

    Cool! Got my 4040 Pro on the St Pats sale. All set up, and moving, but haven't had a chance to cut anything yet. Need to find a permanent home. Also kind of paralyzed on software. Will probably start seeing what I can do with Fusion, as I am familiar with it. But do not want to get locked into a subscription.

      Fusion has a possibility for amateurs for free use Don't know how I did it, but just google it.

    I love that hourly rate sign🤣 I want to make one for work when the engineers stand next to me rushing me for a part to get done. Also excited to see some resign pours! I want to do that with mine as well.

    Informative video, could you provide information as to how did you work up the g-code to resurface the spoil board, Thanks. Keep the experiments going.

      To make it really easy, I used a FREE program called G Sender.Once program is opened, its at the top right.

      Thanks for your response, being a noobie , am I to understand the program you referred to creates the g-code??@@3DHP

    I'm a noob at CNC as well 😆. Just wondering about running a shop vac for so long

    • @3DHP
      @3DHP  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most shop vac's will overheat and shut down. There are a few high end ones designed to run though but pricey,so this was the best bang for the buck even though I need to change some things.

    Hi. Just seen your video and really enjoyed how you explained your process including your ups and downs.
    I'm Kev over here in the UK.
    I'm about to jump in on the cnc bandwagon, for my budget it looks like I'll be going with a genmitsu.but I'm undecided between the latest 4030 or the 4040. I want to have the option of using the laser engraving.
    In your opinion what are the drawbacks or limitations if any with your machine.
    Thanks

    • @3DHP
      @3DHP  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since the weather has been hot here in Vegas. I have not done a lot of work on it but will start as it cools down. I have never tried the 4030 cnc but as far as a laser, I keep my machines separate. 3d Printer, Diode laser engraver, CNC Machine. I'm very happy so far with the 4040 CNC and putting my Makita router on it. Its a small hobby Machine. If I had the money I would buy a Onefinity CNC for around 4,000 dollars.

    What kind of materials can it cut and engrave. Does it cut plexiglass and aluminum for signboard makings ? . Thanks and grate video.

    With the Makita router being heavier, did you find any issues with that ? Or are there some ways to compensate for example some way to stiffen the Z axis ? Thanks.

    • @3DHP

      @@3DHP Thanks, glad to hear that. Some other folks reported some flexing. Hey while I'm typing another thing on my mind is setting up a game controller to do manual jogs for easy surfacing. Have you looked into doing that at all ?

    • @3DHP
      @3DHP  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hv1461 I'm sure it will flex since its not heavy duty,but for the signs I have done on it,was not a problem.I read on a group yesterday of a person using a spacer or block behind the z axis. It is a nice Cnc for the price.

    I have some questions and hopefully you can answer them for me. I'm strongly interested in this machine. Does it come with everything ready to go once assembled? Besides the program like fusion 360 or another is there anything else I would need to buy? And lastly will this work with a Macbook?

    • @3DHP
      @3DHP  ปีที่แล้ว

      It comes with a small spindle that works but I put my Makita on it .Had to get a 65 mm bracket for the Makita. You will need some sort of dust extraction.Some shop vacs work but depends on how long you will be running machine as to which one you buy. Great little cnc in my opinion.
