    Having 3 exhaust fans at the front/side of the case didn't work well, what a surprise
    You should have mounted the radiator there with intake, or on the top as exhaust. Your temps would definitely be lower.

      Yeah I have the td500 argb cooler master mesh, and was just jealous of the lian li side fan options, but was thinking getting this case instead so I can have a closed loop gpu to mount at the side, cpu mounted at top, then just exhaust the back and top, and rest intake to see if that would work.

    I believe the case does support quite a few 2.5" SSDs, you can mount the 3 slots at the back, 1 in the middle panel behind the motherboard (on the wires side) and then I believe another 3 or 2 below the GPU so with the 3.5" trays its quite a lot of storage.

CPU when gaming never goes above 62 at most, CPU sits in mid to upper 50"s. Cinebwnch will push my 13600k temps to low 70s but that's expected.

    The 3 side fans as intake and front rad as intake GPU temp results would be interesting. Agree that I'm disappointed in the storage options - its priced closed to the Fractal Meshify 2 and the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh which have more drive space/options. 140 fan/280 side rad support would have been nice too and looks like there is space for it. Can't mount the psu from the outside...at this price point?! Looks very nice, but the price and the shortcomings just pushed me to the look elsewhere for my workstation build.

    Thank you so much for all of your hard work and research. I bought a 5000D and have 7 QL-120 RGB fans and 3 RGB fans that came with the Corsair iCUE H150i LCD Cooler. My question Is: can I use the included fans that came with the H150i for a Push pull airflow with 3 of the QL120s or should I get 3 more QL-120 RGB fans to keep all 10 fans exactly the same? I'm building my first PC VS always buying Pre builds and want to make sure I make something good. For a mother board I was able to get my hands on a Asus ProArt Z790-CREATOR, quite pricey but I do want to focus on making 4k content. Just need the intel i9 13900k and figure out what RAM to go with Etc. 😅

    Hi Leo, Thanks for the review. Like the case for the most part. At least for me one thing that would be helpful in reviews is more depth about fitment for watercooling parts. IE how would a 360 distro fit on the side (if at all) while having a radiator in the front. What about if you want to run a 360 front and top at the same time, or if you wanted to put a thicker 360 in there how well would it fit.

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The short answer is 'possibly' but with a large dose of 'it depends'. At the very least we have to decide whether you have fans in push or pull but I am pretty darned certain you want to choose either front or side and take it from there.

    Its kind of a common sense to put both side and front fans as an intake specially how close they are together. Im not a tech expert but even i figured that it would beat the purpose of the intake if you put an exhaust on the side.

  • @jaylord55
    @jaylord55 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    honestly i would have had the side fans as intake as well and just let it have positive case intake or take one of the black fans and throw it on the in the rear slot making it almost balanced intake to exhaust . rad cuts the airflow down a bit to balance the 3-3 fan non rad and the rear would have balanced close to the positive pressure and if you had to get a total blance just run the 3 side intake fans slightly slower then the top fans = even in and out pressure better total flow

    One question though, are you able to measure the clearance between top and motherboard? As you surely understand im wondering about max thickness of top mounted radiator.
    I was thinking of putting an Arctic Freezer II 360 in top and if possible use it in a push/pull configuration (total of 88mm)
    Also, if a Freezer II 280 would fit in the top as push/pull? (total of 92 mm) probably not but it is good to know top - motherboard rad clearance.

    • @KitGuruTech

      The short answer is no. With a 120mm unit you might squeeze 65mm clearance, depending on your motherboard VRM heatsinks, RAM and whatever you do up front with the pump/reservoir. With 140mm units you can install a radiator with one set of fans and that's your lot.

    I think the radiator should go on the back, pushing hot air outside the case.
    and the 3 fans pulling fresh air from the front to the GPU.

    • @jacogeldenhuys6280
      @jacogeldenhuys6280 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, but no, that would be a mistake. You generally want to pull/push air from outside into the case through the radiator, since air outside the case is almost always lower in temps than inside the case. Secondly, having three exhaust fans on the side with three intakes right next to them in the front, will only result in most of the air coming in from the front being sucked out through the radiator, thus starving the gpu of air supply.

    • @willgart1
      @willgart1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jacogeldenhuys6280 sorry, but no,
      you want fresh air for both the gpu and the cpu. most of the time, having the radiator on the top in exhaust is the best configuration.
      its proven that fresh air through a radiator as less impact on the CPU temperature than fresh air to the GPU, exhausted air through the radiator is not a problem to cool down the CPU.
      in the setup presented here, the fresh air go through the radiator, become hot, and the back fans remove this air directly to the outside. which results in no fresh air going to the GPU.
      also the radiator reduces the power of the fans, so there is not enough air reaching the GPU.
      its why the GPU is hot.
      this setup can work on smaller cases with no back fans in exhaust.
      with this case, the best config is certainly having the radiator on the top or on the back in exhaust. and good fans on the front to get fresh air in the entire case. and make sure this fresh air reaches the GPU.

      @@willgart1 From your original comment I thought you were recommending a radiator on the back-side panel in this specific case, which is mostly what I was commenting on, and that just does not work in my mind. Anyways, I'm a air cooling guy so yeah 3 front intakes, decent Cpu cooler, and 1 or 2 exhausts and you're golden.

    Hi! Can you recommend a case which has a very good airflow and noise reduction + has an option to 360mm on top + 360mm on front?
    Price does not matter. I have 5950X w/ Kraken X73 + RTX 3090 TUF OC, but they get temperatures while in gaming like CPU 65'C (which is ok) and GPU 80'C (which should be like 65-75'C according to many benchmarks and tests).
    I also suffer from BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 12 1200W noise... It is the loudest part in my system in idle, I can definietly hear it. I don't know if this is active fan in it or some electrical noise (maybe which shouldn't be there). Have you encountered this kind of noise problem in 1000W+ PSUs?

    Question: The less good GPU temp in 9 fans quiet mode isn't due to the fact that you put them in exhaust side so you cut a part of the fresh air given by the front fans ?

    Great looking case and build but I'm surprised the GPU isn't warmer considering it's getting zero fresh intake air due to the three fans on the motherboard panel?

    • @KitGuruTech
      @KitGuruTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are areas all over the case that allow air in and let's face it, the air coming in the front is not all being whisked out the side. I take your point but the GPU is fine.

    I have a silly question, why not mounting the rad/fans on the side? and the fans in the front? to increase the VideoCard airflow. I like your reviews, to the point and no bs.

    • @KitGuruTech

      @@KitGuruTech First of all ty for replying to my question. Second, i think "the logic" dictates (sometimes these assumptions are tottally wrong but..) the radiator and the radiator's fans on the side must be in intake mode(and in push configuration if the case allowed it) and the fans in the front intake too.

  • @kevintran4340
    @kevintran4340 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had literally one day left to return mine as this case was announced and got my 5000d airflow ordered. I love my 4000d airflow a lot, my only complaint was that I couldnt stick a larger AIO's inside and I was wanting a second usb on the front panel. this fixes both these things and adds some neat extras like the nice door on the back to hide the cables, I think its just a very clean look having all your stuff tucked away, I dont really care for the mesh on the side since I wont put fans there but that side of my pc is always facing a wall anyway ill never see it. and the footprint compared to the 4000d is very similar, mostly just taller so it doesnt feel like a bulky case still which I like but added enough headroom for extra versatility, no I dont NEED a 360 aio and spots for side fans BUT I do want a 360 aio lol and I like knowing I CAN do something rather than welp shit out of luck or being restricted by my case. I also actually like the tinted glass. I think RGB lights are very bright and vibrant now a days and having them muted a little is great and hides some of that overall empty space inside the PC. I can barely see my GPU cables, etc. Great case overall.

    Why are all the case makers tinting the glass so dark? If they make it in clear glass ild consider it. Ive got 4 corsair led strips, the corsair light enhancement ram kit, 6 corsair ll rgb fans as well as an evga 1080ti hybrid and a corsair h100i rgb 240mm aio and would like to see MY RGB. These cases with super dark tint seem stupid to me when youve got as much rgb as i do.
