Nobody so beautifully describes a sail like Maya and Aladino . Its the next best thing to being there ...all your videos have a certain atmosphere that no one else can match ...
“That I was fortunate enough to experience exactly this”…. Here again one of your poetic presents that you hand so freely to your potcastodians, by which you are passing on the feeling exactly as it is.
I find myself yawning, not because this video is in any way boring. To the contrary, it is so beautifully filmed, edited, and masterfully narrated that it has taken me away from the world troubles of the day. Soooo relaxing with the lovely background music...my shoulders soften and I am sailing away with you. Thank you again for such a classy video of your adventures.
Land bound gen xer from Missouri loving every single thing you put out. I truly can not tell you how beautiful and appreciated what you are doing is. It is everything I passed on to raise children and while I regret none of it it is so incredibly beautiful to see what could have been if I made other choices. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
It's interesting, in my 70's, to see what memories stand out for me. It's surprising how many are rather mundane. Now, I never consciously tried to"bookmark" an experience. It's an awesome idea that probably makes the moment more special now as well as a stronger memory in later years. I'll have to try it!
The weaving of a beautiful story for this over night 🌙 sail ⛵️ ❤️ Maya you have an elegant sweetness of a lyricalness that is complimented by the films and relayed just as lovely as your playing of your violin 🎻 EPIC
Oh, that feeling where you constantly remind yourself you must remember this moment, this sail, these surroundings, this happiness basically… So familiar!
Another great video, there is something magical about a night passage. I enjoy being on watch alone with my thoughts and the sea and the sky as my companions. Of course, an angry wind over tide in a blow and a face full of salt water every few seconds is not so much fun😀.
Hello, I just want to thank you guys for introducung me to Kirsten in the GGR2022 race. I have been following her with great interest. So amazing to watch and hear about her extraordinary sailing in the rescue of fellow competitor Tapio when his boat sank. She is not only a very skillful sailer, but also such a positive person.
This day I browsed through a few sailing channels I follow, Magic Carpet included of course. Suddenly I recognize .... I screamed out loud. How insane is it that you came to the place where I've spent so many summers, talking walks down to check out the "guesting vessels" and the sunsets.. Absolutely hysterical that you came to a specific little part of the world where I feel the most home.
❤ Elegant is the word to describe your videos. You have the heart of artists and it comes across beautifully in your videos. Thank You for bringing us along.
I suddenly realized why I enjoyed your adventure so much because many years ago I sailed with a friend who owned a Vindo 40. The pictures of Magic Carpet brought back so many happy memories.
So I am 74 years old, is that old or very old? I have sailed in both small lakes in Windermere plus many trips to Holland crewing 100 year old sailing barges. I still feel the need to do more so maybe I am a young old. As aways loving your videos, they remind me of my youth. Many thanks, bon voyage.
Yes, at 73 I remember similar moments on our boat. Your videos make the time travel even more wonderful and real. Thanks from a fellow Canadian female sailor!
I love your intro that beautiful instrumental, in future series you should start the video with that it eases us into the video so smoothly so unique then the preview. Your skills as a musician shine through your videos always sound wonderful
dear between two Staloch countries peaceful joy you’re on top of the world ,three wishes Liberty and justice for all . The rest of the world should be so nice😢
Beautiful memories to places most of us are still aspiring to reach recorded in the highest style. Impressive performance of MCll sistership in the GGR truly a fine choice. Kirsten picking up Tapio!
WOW! Amazing moments. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, specifically "I must remember this" it feels like we could all do better at this. Thinking of your later years and looking back on this moment fondly having bookmarked it, intentionally remembering.
cross-over viewer. big fan of Kerstin and her CG. Kerstin did some amazing sailing in the past 24hr to rescue another sailor after his yacht sank. I enjoy your channel...but do look forward to more work on your CG
The boat looks stunning, can't wait to see how the one sitting in a barn in US will turn out. Aladino is a great boat builder and you are truly gifted. Love that I can daydream about going along on the journey too.
Always nice to watch your adventures. I own Magic Carpets sister, Vindö 32, sail number 151, If you consider going back to Sweden and. visit the east coast, it would be cool to do a match race. Skeppohoj! As se say in Sweden.
Love following your adventures.. Maya ..you're last descriptive phrase blew me away.. "The ethereal filtered light shining down on the freshly laundered world." WOW !! 👌
First snow today (saturday) so spent a nice 20 minutes watching this lovely video. Eagerly already waiting for next summer, winter never was my favourite time of year. Magic videos from magic carpet, thank you so much for making these for us to enjoy. 🙂
We love your commentary of the crossing you can inspire us two older who love to travel but not so far these day so keep it coming we love to see what you are up to thank you stay safe good luck
Dear Maja, this was by far your best video of your channel. It felt so real as if I was part of your journey. I love your safe tour planning. One day we will make our way to sweden with our even smaller sailing boat. But only if the weather is as calm as on your trip. Can´t wait for next fridays video.
8:25 (really from 8:01) You're going to spend DAYS going through your archived episodes and b-roll reliving these moments, while constantly thanking your younger selves for having chronicled so much of it so well. It's going to be awesome too ;)
Just a simply beautiful video! From hitting your weather window perfectly to tying up in one of the most beautiful places, it was all good! Excellent editing, music, etc as usual. Enjoy Sweden!
I love that your first Swedish harbour was Lerkil, home harbour to me and my International Folkboat or IF as we say in Sweden 😃 And I love following your sailing adventures👍🏻
Aloha from beautiful tropical paradise island Kauai 🏝 Hawaii ! Another beautiful episode. My sister married living in Sweden 🇸🇪 Stockholm, since 1985 ,great country Sweden 🇸🇪 Stockholm.
Please tell Annika that getting seasick is normal for some of us: At different times in my 22-year career in the U.S. Navy, I got seasick EVERY time I served aboard a different platform (vessel type); it had something to do with "platform harmonics" and my body's adjustment to them, and it (seasickness) only lasted 24 hours. BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed your video, as always. 🙂
Now that I know what I am (Ancestry DNA) 36% Norway and the rest is Sweden/Denmark/Scotland/Ireland and England. I would love to be sailing to those places. I would most likely never leave if I went there. You both are awesome and thanks for sharing your journey.
So you visited my home country, I hope you will visit the east coast as well. Hope you will have a good time. Right now the news says there is snow coming in Småland remarkable in November.
It’s so interesting to hear someone describe the only anchoring technique I’ve ever used in my life (in Swedish we just call it “natural harbor”) as something exotic! I can’t wait to see you explore my home!
Have to admit we have been looking forward to your Swedish videos! Since I learned to sail here, I am not used to anchoring out in the open. I find that scary, love the sheltering rocks. Lovely video as always. (Jodi & Magnus)
Editing on this episode was just something to be so proud of - fantastic video. I’m on the other side of the scale - old. Your thoughts on remembering the good and beauty of life -spot on🙏🏻

Wow, thank you so much Rick! That means a lot!
She has a very lyrical style that matches her talent of music 🎶 very sweet elegance with whimsical imagination and excellent filming.
Hear...hear!

Wonderful episode, one can feel the magic of the moments! 😍
A little further north on Sweden's west coast you can visit Henan, where Nötesunds shipyard was based and your boat was born. Very nice video!

Hello welcome to sweden

Love this nigth sailing
A most pleasant crossing especially for a young lady who is afraid of seasickness.
Great video, loved the scenery, very similar to Lake Superior where I sail. Thank you again for sharing.
Thank you so very much for your show I love it sooooo much
A lovely sail.
... the Kattegat is a truly nice sheet of water :-)
Thank you for the video! I am amazed there are canadian geese in sweden!
Remembering: We call them "bottle days" in which you bottle up the memories to be opened in the future.
Editing on this episode was just something to be so proud of - fantastic video. I’m on the other side of the scale - old. Your thoughts on remembering the good and beauty of life -spot on🙏🏻
Some of your best ever footage is in this episode: Afterglow blue hour shots of Moon, glowing last light on the horizon, and the tall ship.
Green ship is Alexander von Humboldt 2, not very old actually - built in 2011… nr 1 is now in Bremerhafen
You made it - and I look forward to next week's episode.
