If someone can’t appreciate the beauty of this antique piece they really should go and buy a new piece they like. There are a lot of us that love classic wooden furniture.
Yoooooo Sam!!! Stop the World I wanna get off!! How did 11 days go by before I realized I missed a video?!?!?! Dang Homei complete fumble on my end. As always this came out dope (never a doubt). Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
White?😱 I’m glad you talked them out of that. I hope they loved it. I would have done the wood tone all over. It’s really beautiful. Is that wood mahogany?
I like your thinking about the project. It’s true that you modernize it but I wished you would have stayed with the integrity of the piece. I liked the little details of this dresser that you removed including the drawer pulls.
Thank you so much. The details definitely give it its character but sometimes for someone to love the piece again and keep it, some changes need to be made.
How do you end up with so many commission projects? Is it word of mouth from previous clients or do you advertise, oe some other way? I'm loving your videos! Also I'm about to do my first commission bedroom set and I'm going with your recommendation of inslx cabinet coat. Ty!!
@CedarPineDesigns so I just finished the dresser nightstands and chest for my commision set, and I used inslx cabinet coat for the whole thing, with stix as the primer. I'm noticing that the paint seems kind of soft and when I do a scratch test it acts like it could scratch because I see little white nibs form, but no actual scratch. I did all the normal prep; clean, sand, clean again, prime, paint. Is this normal for inslx? Does it just need a little time to harden or is it supposed to be pretty durable from the start?
@@liveforeternity I’ve never had that issue but it does need time to cure. This is from their product information sheet Tack Free 1 Hour To Recoat 6 Hours Full Cure 14 Days All at 77 degrees so if it’s cold where you are it may differ. I’ve never had to wait the 14 days.
@CedarPineDesigns okay, I'm in Florida so maybe it's too hot. Bringing inside to let it rest in a temp-controlled environment for a few days and hoping for the best 🤞
Todo mueble de madera DEBE mostrar la belleza de su grano. En lugar de talar árboles para obtener madrea y después pintarla, sería más práctico hacer muebles de plástico blanco para que cada cual lo colorée como un libro de pintura para niños. 🤦🏻
While I don’t disagree with you, sometimes a piece needs to be taken in a different direction from its original form in order to appeal to someone who wants to keep it. Rather paint then trash it.
@@CedarPineDesigns I agree with U too. Sometimes a furniture needs a little 'twist' and it's ok, but I love too much (I enjoy like a psycho, actually) look at a piece of wood showing their 'veins' under a light coat of beeswax letting my eyes wander over each single datail. But it's justa a personal point of view. The cheap wood or the veniers (is that the word for the spanish "enchapado"?) may need a coat of paint. The solid wood needs only love and respect. Nice work (really) and my excuses about my english 'cause I was my own teacher on this languaje. Greetins from Tucumán, Argentina.🇦🇷

Beautiful result. I love that green. Great color. You lucked out with the grain on the drawer fronts. Really classy.
Thank you. I did get lucky. Glad it was salvageable
It actually would have looked great white. But that green just really makes the piece. It looks so good. I love that color!
Oh thank you!
Beautiful job as always Samuel, the green with that gorgeous wood tone looked much better than white would have been.
Thank you very much! I despise white on most pieces but it does have its place
Welcome back!
Good to be back. Thank you

Thank you so much. I’m glad too. I believe it was from the red tones

That’s a huge jump from white which the customer asked for. How did they like the green?
Thank you. They were glad I was able to change their mind
Love your work on this piece, what city are you in? I have 4 vintage wood chairs I want brought back to life
Thank you so much. I’m in Morgan hill just south of the Bay Area
Looks great. I have a similar piece but oak. Might try this color. Odd question…where did you get the stand for your spray gun?
Thank you. I hit it from Amazon. I’m going to get another because you can remove the lower portion and secure it to the wall and hang it

Thank you. It is a lot of word of mouth and also, social media brings me clients as well. Once done enough people start to reach out.

@@GustavoMachado-t3b your English is great to be honest. I agree with solid wood, I would never want to paint a solid high end piece of lumber.
