Imagine adopting a parrot that having belonged to another person has absorbed a part of her that he expresses by speaking even when this person is sadly no longer there. Practically it's as if he were prolonging her life, it is almost as if you could know her and have a relationship even without being on the same existential level... For me this is mindblowing.

@@nicolesheehan1298 I admit that the thought of being in your situation with bhanu would be a little creepy for me, maybe because I've never dealt with a talking animal in person, but mostly it would be incredibly fascinating.
Wondering if the feather plucking due to trauma, can right or heal when the situation becomes healthier, more loving, and secure? Can the feathers grow back? In the meanwhile, - LOVE this "little family." Tender, supportive, sweet and funny - wonderful. Much joy to all three souls!
It depends on if the feather follicles are damaged or not. sometimes the damage is to much and the feathers won’t grow back. Only time will tell if that’s the case. (English is not my first language sorry for any mistakes)
@@DagmarDagmar-dg4fmBhanu’s mom here 😊 You’re correct! When I adopted him I took him to an avian vet right away and she told me the follicles were already too damaged for feathers to grow back. But he knows he’s still the handsomest boy 🥰💚 (Also you’re English is perfect !)
I hope Banu has found some love and peace and has stopped stress plucking with all the amazing things in his life now. He's much too handsome for words.

I have a birdie like yours I used to work in a pet shop for years and sold all pets then reason for not but I had rats first then parrots and dog cat but my Ollie is quiet then squeezes loud and fun😊
The reason he plucked out his feathers was from depression from the passing away of his previous owner as these birds are so very intelegent they become really attached to thier human owners he's very sweet by the way 🦜❤️

The bird plucking its feathers in not cute. It's a sign of stress and it's shortening your birds lifespan.

I got my parrot a UVB sun light and he didn't pluck near as much.
