What i did was start right ahead by learning the drift boosting, i remembered it was a must in the original ctr if you wanted to win. I even lost to my sister back when i started because i did not know the lines and had no control over the kart while drifting. I switched from balanced to speed because i wanted to go more straight. Then i switched to d-pad because my sister felt like it was unfair how i started winning her by so much time and the AI was abusing her so i gave her a little advantage by starting to play with the d-pad which worked at first but then i got used to the d-pad and learned u-turning which made things even worse, she did not want to play with me anymore so i started time trials. Tropy times were easy, except megamix mania which i had problems with, but after learning to hold blue fire in tiny temple, i could hold blue fire in megamix mania to the "minefield" before the finish line so i could finally beat that tropy time and oxide time. Since then i have learned abit less rapidly and have only turbo track, slide coliseum and deep sea driving dev times not done. Yes, a nice story indeed.
Great video. But I think a lot of people are getting good at CTR so all these things are MANDATORY at this point if you wanna be competitive. I'd say the biggest advantage you can have right now is mastering speed class and cutting corners, especially cutting corners. Cut everything!
For the driving style one, I agree with acceleration for beginners! I have used it for a while as I used coco in the original and then used her before they added the option to choose in nitro fueled, then once drift was added, I used that and it was good! So uh, yeah, use acceleration for beginners and experienced players even because it's actually pretty good :) this made no sense
I broke my other dualshock 4 by playind with the d-pad. I totally agree that the d-pad is better for u-turn, but if you play with speed class/characters, it could break your d-pads.
Yeah I know what you mean. I had to switch controller 2 times because the dpad started to wear off after a few months. I try not to press it too hard now
@@TheViperian it's difficult, because we unconsciously press harder the d-pad on tighter corners. The dualshock still works, but it inputs the "down comand" alone. The menus get crazy. Thank you for the tips and the video.
I actually am so used to time trial that I barely even remember items exist. (As you know I can't play online) so I don't use items. Since AI is so easy.
100% analog player, on switch, it's just easier for me, but I did take time to learn the angles for U turning, I get it 90% of the time now, really it's just cuz of the placement of the D-pad on the switch controller that makes me despisd using it on that controller, for the ps4 controller. 100% would use the D-pad, but switch pro controller,,, I learned and have now beat every velo ghost using the anolog.
@@TheViperian it's been going well for me in online races and the trials. Really I only actually lose to people that can fully use speed to the top levels, or to people who can keep blue fire for all 3 laps on all tracks. Sure I mess up the U-turning at times, but it's rare enough that I dont think I need to use the D-pad. Probably helps that I'm also a huge fighting game fan and those diagonals are used in many fighting games for various things, and I also use the anolog for most of them. Ps, I been using the anolog since the game launched on switch. Played almost every day, so muscle memory is what's really helping me get that diagonal down turns as consistent as I do. But like you I would likely recommend others to use the D-pad if they can.

Thx 👍 I didn't know ring rally can be good place to practice muscle memory
Thank you so much for these tips viperian, I started playing when the nitro tour came out and still have trouble with this game, thank you again
No worries, happy CTR!
Great tips🎉

I actually mained acceleration once, and yes I would say it is the most fun driving style out of all 5 😄
@@TheViperian acceleration is how fast you reach your top speed right? Cuz I use tawna for acceleration

Thank you for the ramp trick, helped me out a lot!
Welcome 😄
You're a legend bro
I been using zoomed in mode i am thinking of switching i just like how the zoomed in gives the game a more intense feeling to me
I personally love the zoom in mode too!
YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!
Yee haw

You should do track reviews or even make lists of your favorite and least favorite tracks.
Yeah I'm think of doing that too! Maybe once next GP is out or all tracks are out
what kart are you using?
4:01 that seal
Feels bad
Speed Is so much better than any other combined with u turning and hop turning they are really good.
Yeah, speed is kinda the best when u know how to control it well
Yeah it is

I got the game recently because I just felt like it.
Map knowledge map knowledge map knowledge!!!
Well jokes on you since there most likely wasn't the ring rally game mode when you started playing :P
Heehe I might worded it weirdly yeah. Well, newer players get it 😂

I'll love to see a ranked mode in ctr!
Me too! Still waiting for the day to come
It already tries to match you by skill.
