YES. When Ring Rally was first released, I began to get more comfortable and confident. Then I began doing at least 1 time trial a day, mostly for the daily points, but enough to be more familiar. Now I'm almost done with N. Tropy's times, looking forward to Oxide and Velo!!!
@@5nesta *Turns on game* I've beaten most of Oxide's times, have almost all platinum relics, and three stars on all of the cups. Even after the main updates ended, I still play CTR with my little brother almost every weekend. (He's 8) I just play to "stay frosty," but I haven't worked on completion in a while.... Maybe I can start working on it again...
I would add a 4th final step, after you achieve 3, I would than recommend playing in a competitive private lobby with items as learning to dodge well placed beakers, TNTs and nitros will help you adjust to any difficult situation in CTR.
I think Ring Rally is great for beginners who need to learn the basics of the track, good race lines, and getting the hang of reaction time & precision with holding blue fire on many tracks, but Ring Rally does not help you learn how to drift on your own by scratch and dealing with reserves while holding sacred fire or blue fire, so Time Trial mode is the best mode to learn the track inside and out while keeping your drifting skills up to the max, and learning how to cut corners properly and U turning the proper way. For beginners new to CTR, start with Adventure Mode on medium difficulty to get the hang of the mechanics, after you complete Adventure Mode 100%, then start Time Trial mode and focus on all N Tropy ghosts first, then for intermediates, focus on all Oxide ghosts, and for advanced, focus on all Velo ghosts, do it in this order then you'll become a better player each day and when you go online, you'll be able to perform so many techniques casually on a regular basis that you couldn't even do back then when Time Trials were new to you.
I like racing vs hard AI because it's good to practice avoiding beakers/TNT and to learn how to recover from getting hit by items as you will often online.
Nice tips man, Ring Rally and Time Trials are INDEED the best way to improve at CTR even if you already think you are good at the game. I admit I'm kinda scaried about the devs time trials, because Velo's almost made me crazy. Congrats on your work with the videos, much love from Brazil! Take care!
Itemless races against other players is prob best way to learn more. Also you can of course watch other people's time trials from some rankings. Haven't done Ring Rally much, gotta try that out more
Just wanted to thank you for all your videos on CTR. They helped me immensely with the Velo Ghosts and as a matter of fact just beat my final one tonight. Keep up the great work!
For a great way to show you had managed to improved your times, simply goto Hard on that specific track to see your results. Other ways like if you discovered a new shortcut, simply practice it before you take it for a spin online. A way to show that it would help others as well
Nice tips and helpful video, you can always expect great content from Viperian! PS: today with 3 weeks of playtime I managed to do my first ever Velo Ghost on Deep Sea Driving with your guide, thanks a lot!
@@TheViperian I find Deep Sea Driving very enjoyable and fun, so I suppose it wasn't too bad. I just followed your paterns and then I could dash through the track. Again, much appreciated!
Hi Viperian, first of all I want to thank you for all your videos with CTR tips, I have improved my level, but not enough :( I have a lot of problems with the “mini U-Turn” and I know is the key to beat all Velo gost in time trial. I've practiced a lot, but I can't do it without losing speed. What is the best way to use the right hand to coordinate the changes between the square and x ? Do I need to somehow grab the right hand to make the movements better? What do you suggest to synchronize the movements for the “mini U-turn in the right hand? Thanks to your videos I learned the 3 ways of U-turning, that is not the problem, I know the buttons that I must press, my problem is with the right hand, I think I'm not fast enough to synchronize mini U- turn movements. please i need your help Viperian, some tracks are very stressful and i know should be fun not stressful hahahaha.
Hey! Glad to know you enjoyed my videos :) I would suggest to press Square with the Tip of your thumb, and X on the lower bottom of your thumb. Its should be much easier to U-Turn that way, cus that's how i do it
By now anyone who's been playing since last summer should be good enough to unlock Digital Tropy. If you have enough experience racing online then yeah this should be no biggie for you guys.
Do you intend on doing a guide on using items? I’ve beaten Velo’s times easily but online people keep sniping me from insane distances and my items just hit the nearest wall and idk what to do
I just beat em yesterday, and you cannot stress enough the importance’s of u turning at the 180 turns section. That’s all you got to know, as well as maintaining blue fire. Use speed or drift, the speed is necessary
most of them are speed runners on my stream. If you've completed velos time, you can expect to be around 3rd place or more, unless you're a speed runner
My set up is more hard then yours 1) ring rally with one track at a time except without cnk tracks at first, 2) time trials with the same set up as #1 until you can beat velo 3 times in a row 3) adventure mode hard on that track only until trophy gained 4) repeat step 1-3 until story completion then change it to relics until plat them, then ctr tokens, once you have 101% complete. 5) repeat steps 1,2 , but with cnk tracks and bonus tracks, finish off with ctr tokens and relics on hard on those tracks. 6) done
Which class would you reommend for the following tracks? Gingerbread Joyride Hyper spaceway Koala Carnival Trying to do Velo on these 3 thanks in advance :-)
If you get good at dodging normal AI, try improving by playing against Oxide in adventure mode... You won't find a better opportunity to dodge beakers and crates than that boss battle.
refreshed my subscriptions at the perfect time
Bro, whenever I'm sucking at ctr, I remember your 76th out of time attempt. Thanks 😂
Keep refreshing and find mine lmao jk

i don't really know what to tell about items tbh. It's based on the lag that's why you feel that you've been hit at odd places
