Honestly, while I am glad the OP got the money and such, and the woman was found guilty, the fact that a old judge ruled in a way that an insurance company HAD to pay and PAY BIG is really the best part of this story.
Is it really necessary to go into all this needless detail about pointless bullshit like how the courtroom and everyone in it looked? Just wastes time and makes the story seem less believable and more like it was made up and the person telling it is overcompensating by describing things like a 7 year old who just learned how to describe things.
That's literally a big part of story telling the fact that you deem it unnecessary shows you don't like to read detail is the only way for people to express emotions in writing because of how little feedback you get compared to words or visuals

Typically the audience does not care for unnecessary information that adds almost nothing to the story, and neither do I. Excessive detail can hurt the pacing of a story, and at a certain point during this one I just thought to myself that I just wanted it to get to the point. I really do not need to hear an individual description of every single person in this court room. Some things are best left up to the imagination.
