The unusual gateron switches were swapped for quality reasons for almost as uncommon Kaihl 1232 choc mini switches Both chosen because they’re very low profile, but they aren’t swappable with other switches Though the cap stems are the same as choc v1, they probably won’t fit many caps because standard chocs would be too big Test users should get them in about two weeks and we should know more
@ Their goal for the extra low-profile is to let you rest your wrists (or your whole forearms I guess?) on the desk without a wrist-rest That’s why the did the pinky-finger wing bends too, to put the outer home-row edge right close to desk level Clever. I’ve been really looking forward to getting my hands on it to see if it works 🤷🏻♂️
@ I’m getting a test unit soon and looking forward to trying out the choc mini switches I’ll try modding them by swapping springs with choc v1 springs I think the choc v1 springs might be compatible with the choc mini switches, but I’m not sure 100% yet There’s only 3 variants of the choc mini (tactile, linear, clicky) so if we can find ways to mod them that will open up worlds There may be other issues, but we’ll see
I agree about the price. I was refering to "not even good ergonomics". I like it because it gets rid of the mouse, but I am waiting to see what people who get it will say about how that works. In terms of ergonomics it seems to be doing everything all other ergonomic keyboards do.

@@johnnyboghean2242 you have to move the wrist to reach the trackpad or trackball. For the price of the trackball module alone you can get an ergonomic split keyboard and a trackball to put somewhere reachable from your home row position. The column stagger here is basically non-existent and it has plenty of keys that are unreachable without bending your wrists. For this amount of money you could hire someone to design and build an ergonomic keyboard perfectly tailored for your hands and then take them out for dinner a couple of times
Finally someone posts something cool from CES that isn't from a big brand. Great video!
Wow, excited to finally see one “in the wild”!
EXACTLY. I know there have been a few of them delievered before the New Year, I hope some people who got it will be making videos talking about it.
@@johnnyboghean2242yeah, I’m hoping about that too, though there might be an NDA to not share anything to public.
I love this and have been following for the last year, is nice to see working. Unfortunately is very expensive for non 1st world countries
Wow cool keyboard. Look forward to seeing more of this keyboard in action.
Was interested until the price lol $500 all-in might be reasonable if the software is flawless, but $800 is wild.
What's the difference?
wow Was this at Venetian or LVCC?
I believe not, just CES for the moment.
Was at Eureka park. This event specifically was CES unveiled
I was proven wrong, they were at the Venetian!
Super cool. Might replace my Mistel MD600 Barocco
I thought they had gateron switches made for this?

@ I see. I was hoping they decided to go with something standard, so that’s a bit disappointing.

Clever. I’ve been really looking forward to getting my hands on it to see if it works 🤷🏻♂️
@ yeah, I’m definitely really interested in it still. May have to play around with the stock switches if I don’t love them.

I might have bought it 😀
Great design but can't stomach anything that expensive holy smokes
I've seen this keyboards on ads for years, but still no release. Probably just a scam.
cool tech, would never buy tho
Isnt that what CES stands for?
ridiculously overpriced garbage. Not even good ergonomics
I woud buy it
How do you know? Considering there are only a few tens delivered so far, your claim is not really based on anything.
@@johnnyboghean2242 it's based on the fact that I've seen the price and I have eyes and a brain ffs
