I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song. My alarm went off to get up for work in August ‘96. and this song was playing. I laid there and listened to the whole thing and fell in love with it immediately.The song just came out on country radio. I already loved Patti Loveless and I was so happy when I realized I already had the trouble with the truth CD. I listen to that song probably 100 times the entire hot Summer Day and night. 26 years later, it’s still one of my all-time favorite songs! Just a pure country classic.

Music is a reflection of society, garbage can only sell if the audience is garbage, sorry to be truthful about it, but truth is a hard pill to swallow. Love this song. When we go out to sing karaoke, my wife of 48 years sings this so beautifully. I joke with her because when we were young teenagers, she didn't really like country music. Now she gets great compliments for her singing. What a joy. Try to enjoy the time you have, you never know when the Good Lord may call you home or someone close to you. I've seen friends lose their spouses way too early and it really hurts to see them hurt so.
