This is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. I remember hearing it on the radio when it was new and I didn't like it the first few times I heard it. I had recently gone through a painful divorce and this song hit a lot of sore spots. Still, you couldn't deny that this song was speaking to millions of people in this country who were going through something similar to this. I also like how this song presents both sides, it's not just his fault, it's not just her fault. Sometimes things just happen and you just can't figure out how to fix them. I very quickly grew to love this song and I still think it's one of Patty's best. This song is a good companion song for another Loveless hit, "The Trouble With The Truth."

Be here. My first marriage, it drained me. He didn't want the help he needed and stopped caring. Though it wasn't always like that. It wasn't even a year before it was all done. His drug use was more important (which is no surprise). I tried for months as a wife to help him. When that didn't work, I tried as a friend. Losing weight dramatically (bones showing), hair loss, paler skin, throwing up everytime I ate and more. He stole and put his youngest in danger. I told him to go and that was it. Now I've been with my current husband almost 10 years. We celebrated our 3 year marriage this past December with out beautiful 3 year old. At the end of the day as bad as that was, I'm glad I went through it. It taught me a lot. While we have our problems we work through it and become stronger for us and most importantly our son.

That's what each generation says as it drifts into history. The wish never comes true. Each new generation brings its own styles in to replace the old. At least in this digital age the older stuff we like most is preserved on the www where we can still listen to it as if it never went away. I was looking through some old country music like George Jones and Conway twitty.... I woke up at 3:45am and I cried for almost two hours listening to music that my parents and family used to play. My parents are gone, the family I grew up with are gone. Music is such a blessing in the way that songs don't change, it can be 20 years later and you'll hear your dad's favorite song and suddenly you're a kid again and it's the smile that comes through the pain and the tears. ANYWAY...I decided to click on this song, just this morning...never heard it before but what a powerful song. It's so powerful in its relatability. It's just a beautiful song and it really illustrates what can happen if you don't keep nourishing your love with someone. Once you get that ring on your finger, it doesn't mean you stop doin all the things that built that relationship. Love this song. So glad I randomly clicked on it. 🖤✨

In a previous lifetime, my wife and I after 5 years would “talk”, went to see a counselor. Wasn’t getting better.

This beautiful woman refused to sell out to the music machine. Patty had everything going for her. God given good looks, crazy vocal range and a rare sense of self worth with no ego. At any other time she would be the benchmark that others would aspire to, but I guess that's the way it goes sometimes.

This is one of those songs that sneaks up on you. I remember hearing it on the radio when it was new and I didn't like it the first few times I heard it. I had recently gone through a painful divorce and this song hit a lot of sore spots. Still, you couldn't deny that this song was speaking to millions of people in this country who were going through something similar to this. I also like how this song presents both sides, it's not just his fault, it's not just her fault. Sometimes things just happen and you just can't figure out how to fix them. I very quickly grew to love this song and I still think it's one of Patty's best. This song is a good companion song for another Loveless hit, "The Trouble With The Truth."

But my youngest child just finished college so my next step is finding the courage to walk away. Alot of what kept me where I am (believe it or not) has to do with geography. I met him in the Army and moved to his hometown in Arkansas whereas my family is in Massachusetts which is 1,600 miles away

Be here. My first marriage, it drained me. He didn't want the help he needed and stopped caring. Though it wasn't always like that. It wasn't even a year before it was all done. His drug use was more important (which is no surprise). I tried for months as a wife to help him. When that didn't work, I tried as a friend. Losing weight dramatically (bones showing), hair loss, paler skin, throwing up everytime I ate and more. He stole and put his youngest in danger. I told him to go and that was it. Now I've been with my current husband almost 10 years. We celebrated our 3 year marriage this past December with out beautiful 3 year old. At the end of the day as bad as that was, I'm glad I went through it. It taught me a lot. While we have our problems we work through it and become stronger for us and most importantly our son.

That's what each generation says as it drifts into history. The wish never comes true. Each new generation brings its own styles in to replace the old.
At least in this digital age the older stuff we like most is preserved on the www where we can still listen to it as if it never went away. I wish the same could be done for all the hair I'e lost over the years, or the miles I used to run every week. Looks like those are gone forever.

I was looking through some old country music like George Jones and Conway twitty.... I woke up at 3:45am and I cried for almost two hours listening to music that my parents and family used to play. My parents are gone, the family I grew up with are gone. Music is such a blessing in the way that songs don't change, it can be 20 years later and you'll hear your dad's favorite song and suddenly you're a kid again and it's the smile that comes through the pain and the tears. ANYWAY...I decided to click on this song, just this morning...never heard it before but what a powerful song. It's so powerful in its relatability. It's just a beautiful song and it really illustrates what can happen if you don't keep nourishing your love with someone. Once you get that ring on your finger, it doesn't mean you stop doin all the things that built that relationship.
