One Day in Bangkok - A Day In The Life With Serg

  • Want to see how one ordinary day looks like for me here in Bangkok, Thailand? (There is a lot you can do on one ordinary day here in Bangkok Thailand, from Benchasiri Park to Central World!)
    Benchasiri Park is my first stop, as I have an oath to keep to Donatello, and I just enjoy spending time at this park. Next, I decide to go look (and ride) some bicycles at the Decathlon sporting goods store.
    While walking to my next destination, I come across a Honda Motorcycle dealer. I decide to take a quick look at prices on the ADV 160 motorbike that I am considering buying. The Lambretta scooter dealer I encounter in Rama IV is just too gorgeous to pass up. Such awesome bikes! The next stop for me is the Preduce skatepark and skate shop. Here I meet Marcos @mawelters and we have a great chat. After watching him skate and checking out the skateboards inside Preduce, I cave. I have them build me a really nice Santa Cruz skateboard. I grab some fresh juice and then meet my buddy Maty @Watchmaty at central world mall for a very late lunch. This was quite a long day of walking and exploring Bangkok, and I love it as always. One Day in Bangkok - A day in the Life with Serg episode for all of you to enjoy.

    Yay! Serg is fully back for adventurous Bangkok wandering once again. Yeah, a bike maybe useful, so you don't need to keep looking for a motorcycle taxi everywhere, and yet be able to keep yourself slender then fall/slip anywhere you like without much pain :)
    6:03 I believe that's much possibly the same of your destroyed 180Bht skateboard, lol.
    "Italian definite know how to build beautiful machine" much is true.
    That skateboard shop has their own free-to-use skate park, very nice.
    16:13 Damn those people are so nice. I loved the way this lady keeps waving even after you departed her shop.

    Hi Serg, I am envious of your daily life in BKK. I can't wait to have a day like that. My daily routine life (except off days) starts with waking up by the alarm clock, goes to work, comes back home and sleep 😪. It has been almost 30 years, and can't wait for spontaneous daily life. Btw, a lot of TH-camrs including you mentioned that sugar is added into a lot of Thai food. I wonder why? The only time I found Thai food is sweet was when I moved to US. It's not supposed to be like that. At least, Thai food was not like that when I was growing up in Thailand!

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Sawasdee Krub, Priviet, and G'day Serg..
    In responce to your motorbike scooter question...BOTH...Right ride for the right environment...I've been on 2 wheels 4 wheels and 22 wheels most of my life.... I remember clearly the very first time on two wheels. I was 5 and I was on a Dexon automatic, kinda like a lawn mower engined mini bike, helmet kinda strapped on. The guy showed me the brake and throttle operation, pointed me in the right direction..... I nailed the throttle full power..... went dead straight on with all 4 horses under me on full demand and straight into the hay bails ahead and crashed.... I was hooked.... I'm a Ducati guy as seen on my channel but last October I was in Bangkok getting the big move to Thailand sorted out and man oh man I'd think twice about two wheels in Thailands big smoke... Your a brave man... Big bike for more open areas me thinks and definitely scooter power for BKK....
    Love your channel mate, subscribed and would love to buy you a coffee in person when I get there :)
    P.S My misses is Thai and a Thai Chef here in Australia and cooks traditional Thai food... Yep sugar....4 different types of it depending on desired taste ( White sugar, brown sugar, raw sugar, palm sugar and Coconut sugar).... Bummer I'm a diabetic........

    This was a classic Serg video, cycling around decathlon, the bread throwing without knowing that bloke was there, 7-11 stops, food stops and general goofiness 😂. Just wish it had been longer. I’d be very tempted by the Lambrettas, my brother has been into scooters all his life, being a mod back in the day, he currently has a Vespa 250GT which is a “twist and go”, I think he gets 80+mph out of it! Really looking forward to seeing you buying a motorcycle out there. Take care mate.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Concerning motorbikes. I got my first motorcycle at 17 years old. Motorcycles and motorbikes are far safer because you straddle the machine. On a scooter, you sit on it, and in an emergency, you'll have no control over it.
    In an emergency, you want to slam on the rear brake for drag. This way, you still have control over the motorcycle. If you slam on the resr brake on a scooter, it will slide out from underneath you, and you'll go over backward. I've seen this, and it's not pretty. Anyone reading this please be safe, its your body out there, so drive defensively.

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not going to sugar coat this.. That is some of worst riding advice I have ever heard. You do not want to “slam” the brakes while riding, or driving any vehicle. That is an excellent way to lock up the brakes and start sliding. I’ve been riding motorcycles for 34 years. I’ve ridden with many pro racers. NOT ONE person has ever recommended to “slam” the rear brakes. That is some of the MOST dangerous advice I have ever read. I know you mean well, but please take some time to educate yourself as you’re giving out extremely dangerous advice.

    I am from the south of Thailand. When I came to live in Bangkok in the early days i am very confused Because food in Bangkok is sweet, curry is sweet, noodles are sweet.
    Desserts are very sweet. Because in the South, it is not popular with sweet and savory food.
    And the desserts are not so sweet.
    It took me a long time to adjust. But nowadays, any shop that is too sweet, I avoid it.
    90% of my days end with me cooking for myself.
    Very rarely do I buy food from the store. Except for going out of the area
    As for me, the touring motorbike is my favorite Yamaha X-Max and have a plan to buy it for touring.
    I am currently using a Honda Click. And I have a feeling that driving at 80km/h would make me lose my confidence a bit.
    A car with a larger displacement and a heavier weight would be a better choice for long distance driving.
