Matt, if it helps at all, I really appreciate you showing the shotkam even when you miss (which is not much) It makes the rest of us feel a little more normal :) I think having a lot of hunters like that, and large groups of birds makes it more difficult to shoot well than when you're by yourself decoying a few at a time.
It’s crazy how much you have to change your shooting style from standing in a marsh, to being in a layout, even worse hunting out of a pit blind! Awesome video as always Matt..
Last year I made a trip to Arkansas for the first time and we had a group of pintails so big come in that we didn’t even shoot. They were so tight we were afraid one person would kill multiple. It was so awesome being a kid from central Alabama watching all those different species of duck and geese fly around. Headed back in two weeks and I’ve been binge watching your hunts lol
Switching from standing/sitting and shooting to laying out often takes a bit of adjustment. You have to mess with doors and everything else. That can really make shots a challenge. Fun to have so many birds working the spread! Nice hunt!
Awesome mixed bag. I’ve never seen it take you so many shells to get your limit. Glad to know you miss sometimes, makes the rest of us not feel as bad 😂😂😂😂
Thanks for Your regards on the other video,My old eyes thought I saw something familiar ? I see on this one Dakota Dry with Mr.Hoke,That’s more Pintails than I’ve ever seen ! Don’t despair on Your shooting that first two drakes You crippled the other as well and I’ve seen You shoot about 94 per cent since I’ve been watching ! You have some very nice places to hunt in those upper states ! Things are going to get even better fast with Mr.Trump at the helm! Thanks for another great video Matt !
Can’t remember if you’ve done one previously but a “how to” or tips and tricks for waterfowl ID on the wing video would be awesome. You’ve got it down to a science!
I noticed that lately you have been shooting Salt Creek Custom TSS #7s, #8s and #9s. You hammered those 2 cranes with the TSS 7s, do you think Bismuth would have produced the same results? Great video, thanks!
Thanks! I'd look on Facebook marketplace to start. Goose decoys are pretty easy to touch up with some spray paint. Otherwise Roger's has a wide selection of new ones.
Awesome hunt boys, wondering if yall are still around hoven area? My buddy and I are out looking for ducks with no luck, wondering if you had room for two more
Matt, love watching your videos. When was this and where are you at? The east side of Nebraska has been tough, not holding a ton of birds so far this year…. Any day now.
You and Hoke making some nice content. It’s a little hard to watch 85 ducks over the decoys and raises up and pops one Drake pintail and educates 84 others though 😬
I have hunted ducks for 50+ years and at 76 I don’t hunt much anymore but I enjoy watching you hunt. Thanks for sharing your hunt with us.
Appreciate that!

Appreciate that! You nailed it. My worst shooting days are out of layouts or with big groups. Just a subconscious urge to rush oneself.
It’s crazy how much you have to change your shooting style from standing in a marsh, to being in a layout, even worse hunting out of a pit blind! Awesome video as always Matt..
That's the truth! Thanks Bryan!
Thank you for the Friday upload!
No problem!
Just awesome Matt, congratulations!!
Thanks!
What a wonderful hunt You are blessed.
Thanks!
Great Video again, Matt. Your skill with these videos continues to get better each year.
Appreciate that!
I think you used up all your aiming fluid on those cranes!
Haha that might've been it

Nice! They definitely put on an awesome show!

Nailed it. Shooting from a layout is my worst position.
Awesome video congrats on limits lots of birds WOW
Thanks Bob!
Another great one Matt! Makes a Fella want to move to South Dakota.
Thanks! That's no joke. It's such a beautiful state.
Wow. Scotch double on the dinosaurs. Wild. Good stuff all the way around.
Thanks!
Makes me so jealous. I cant wait till season starts. Getting the itch that need to be scratched
How much longer you have?

Thanks Bryan! The cattail holes can look pretty similar. Definitely the most pintails I've been under.

I haven't yet. Maybe this offseason
Beautiful Widgeon
Yes it was!
pintailpocalypse
That's no joke!
So that's where all the drake pintails are haha. Awesome hunt. We have a lot of pintails here too but i see all hens only lol.
Haha yep. Be nice next year when we can bag three a day.
@HighPrairieSportsmen oh yea definitely be better since most big ducks we see here are pintails
Six hot barrels of the day, some hits, some missed lol. Good times are what it is all about.
Very true Cooper!

Appreciate it! I don't think bismuth would've had the same effect. The knockdown power of TSS is incredible.
Good hunt Matt! do you have any recommendations of were I can get some cheap goose decoys? mine need replacing.
Thanks! I'd look on Facebook marketplace to start. Goose decoys are pretty easy to touch up with some spray paint. Otherwise Roger's has a wide selection of new ones.
@@HighPrairieSportsmen Thanks Matt!

Thanks! No, birds pushed out a couple weeks ago

This was the state to the north. Late October. Still waiting for cold and snow up in Canada.
What shells were you running in the versamax? I saw #7 on one, is it TSS? Awesome video as usual, I really enjoy them!
Salt Creek Customs 2 3/4" TSS 7s
@@HighPrairieSportsmen gotcha, TSS must be awesome to have being that you can get almost double the pellets in the air.
I noticed that unless you're hunting geese you use IC choke what is your range of shooting
Generally 35 yds and in is my preferred range. With TSS you want a more open choke
Someone needed a speck call
Had one. Just wasn't the best
Shut the spinners off when geese come it’ll help 🤘🏻
We tried that a few times. They still weren't interested. Decided just to focus on the ducks.
You and Hoke making some nice content. It’s a little hard to watch 85 ducks over the decoys and raises up and pops one Drake pintail and educates 84 others though 😬
Yeah, unfortunately most of them came all at once. Small groups and singles would've been preferred.
Frito, cozido ou assado, como você come?
How come you guys only want to shoot drakes? Still a great hunt I was just wondering why.👍
Never hurts to have more hensgoing back to the nests. Plus drakes just look better.
@ good point. Keep up the great content your vids are awesome 👍👍👍.
Terrible shot calling.
That was on me. When 90% of the birds coming in are pintails it makes it a little tough though
Hard to call shots for six people at once with a shifting wind. We made it work
