I'm a quilter as well but was a knitter way before that. It goes in circles for me. I quilt a lot in the summer and knit more in the winter. I always have something to knit on the couch for the evenings in the winter also..
I usually loose my knitting mojo as the weather warms up. I tend to go towards sewing/quilting and even crochet. I’m trying to get mine back too as I’ve been out of it since December. Having a specific project for a person helps and so does a deadline. Sometimes just touching your stash and looking at the colors letting the yarn inspire you is all that’s needed. Sometimes it’s just buying something new and using that right away. I am currently knitting up a romper using two different patterns and just attaching them at the waist with provisional cast on. I bought a very sweet fingering cotton yarn from Joannes in light pink and oranges that reminds me of sorbet and summer. So far, I’m not bored of that project, it is easy enough and not too many patterns to follow but enough to keep my mind occupied.
I know this is an old video at this point, but I always always get my mojo back when I finish that project that's been taking forever and weighing me down.
I go back to knitting stockinette in the rounded. Hats and socks are my go to for mindless knitting. After a couple weeks of mindless knitting, my knitting mojo usually comes back.❤
If I loose my mojo I go back to basics…plain vanilla socks with super fun yarn or a simple shawl. Shawls tend to be my comfort knit, if I’m stressed I cast on a new shawl no matter how many I have going 😂 something soothing like a Sophie shawl or the autumn tales shawl…rhythmic and soothing.
Whenever I lose my mojo I completely step away from knitting for a while. I read, binge watch Netflix (or other streaming services), do some organizing around the house, etc. The break seems to reinvigorate my desire to knit again. Also helpful is a visit to my LYS.
I tend to be a serial crafter. Although I’ve been on a knitting kick for quite some time, I’ve been having trouble with my hands going numb, especially when I’m knitting so I have to really push myself to work on projects. Maybe the best idea is to find something you’re really excited about like your hat hopefully that helps.
My knitting and crafting mojo is not there, I cannot seem to knit anything but plain garter stitch. I do not know what can bring it back! Our Roomba is named Pacman, and we have a pool vacuum named Pool Pacman
