To anyone interested in doing this: DO NOT haphazardly cut into a keg without first releasing the pressure! While kegs are typically only rated for 60PSI and are generally run empty by 20PSI or less,if you're cutting into one it's probably damaged and has very old very nasty stuff inside. Simply get a tool with a broad head like a socket driver, set it on the metal ball where the tap would go, wrap a wrag around it, and press down until you can't hear or feel any pressure escaping.
Just a standard metal cutting blade, be careful as the kegs are about 3mm thick. Good Luck !! Using the fire pit is the one thing I like about winter !
