  • In this video I build a simple DIY keg cooler for a local restaurant. This was an easy build where I got to actually use a keg and repurpose it for something cool!

Instead of cutting the center bar (Spear) out, I would suggest removing it before starting the project. It would also relive all the pressure from inside the keg before cutting it open. Just depress the ball with a screw driver letting out most of the pressure, then remove the snap ring that holds the spear in place, now the whole spear assembly slides out.

Nice job Ive made several boil pots for beer, out of kegs, and learned it was cheaper to by the stainless steel bit then several step bits. Great work though. Thanks.

When you said "Axiom " I immediately thought the huge ship in the animated movie Wall-E. Looks like a really cool cooler (pun not intended).

Man, fantastic! I have 4 empty kegs that I have been trying to figure out a cool project for. A cooler will have to be one of them for sure! Did you use a rubber stopper for a drain plug or something else?

Couldn’t have just done a mitre joint instead of plugging the holes? And used a plasma cutter for the drain hole

Yeah I gotta drill and tap 16 holes in 3/16” stainless on every tank I build and you find out real fast that rapid tap and speed is your best friend!
