What a thoroughly enjoyable film from start to finish this was, and so very informative about the details of the day, the wind direction, the sun direction, the heat the cold, the up and the down, the dark and the light, the distance and the location. Your relaxed narative is superbly addicitve. Man I wish you would start making some more of these again.
Nice video Ben. I have to say, I'm jealous. So many remote and wild places up there, even if some do have big dirty tracks though 😛. Always learn something new for your videos. Appreciate these more than ever during lockdown. Cheers, Kris.
Great Vlog, I did the water May the other way, Clow Bridge to innerdouny Hill after watching your vlogs on the area. At times It was challenging, but a great way too explore the area Theres a great water fall just near those caravans and the old Clow Bridge which unfortunately has collapsed. The flooding you saw was indeed post August the 11th.
Cheers :) I really wanted to go back in all the heavy snow we've had lately.....but as is always the case, when we get snow locally I can't actually get off the hill to go anywhere!
Thanks for a great day out Ben, these longer videos really feel as if your talking to someone and not the camera. At 35:04 you say that it would be great snowshoe territory and so the last 6/8 weeks have turned into some of the best winter weather of the 10 or so years in your part of Scotland. 🥶😔
Wow hello Ben, just found your channel. What a great vlog and stunning scenery you have shared. How wise were you to get out and make the most of that great space, we very much did the same pre Christmas. New sub to your channel here, looking forward to following you and your adventures. ❤☕👍 Even in these remote locations, great to see the tree planting happening, indigenous or for forestry? Absolutely stunning, you are a natural, hope you are well, Ceri and Kat 🤗😊
Hiya! Thanks for the comments and for watching. That whole area is essentially one big spruce forest but it does have its moments. The large broadleaf woodland is habitat restoration rather than forestry :)
Hi Ben. It's nice to discover new delights on your doorstop, the same happened for me last year during restrictions here in Co Durham. Great video mate, see you next time.
The broad leaf plantation I think it's owned by a guy called Michael McGregor....and the trees were planted by some Kiwi Guys who camped there while they were planting the whole area....I have some old photos of before and it was a very different place to what it looks like now
Ha ha! I think there's minor swearing in all the recent videos.....perhaps it's lockdown expressing itself? ;-) Or maybe it's the endless fences to climb?
Think there is too much obsession in Scotland with hillwaking = Munro bashing....it's not...most of the walkin I've done in Scotland has been sub 2500ft and have had lots of immense and interesting and strenuous walks..rivers glens small hills coastal...so much to see and the views from so called lesser hills can be superb. Don't limit your walkin to tickin off hills like some trainspotter...when people refer to hills as Munros ,Corbetts and Grahams etc it makes me bloody cringe!....classic phrases..."I've got those 2 Grahams to do over there"...arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

Cheers Kris. Typically, it seems we will be unlocked after two or more weeks of 'milder and wetter than average' weather :-/
@@BenvironmentBlog I know how much you love your snow walks Ben 😄 Hopefully next winter will be as white as this one and have no restrictions 🤞

Thanks Alistair. Yeah it was funny editing it last week, knowing what happened to the weather just six days later ;-)

Cheers Dave. Yep, a memorable one.

Cheers Michael. I think it's something we've all been doing :)

HIya - thanks v much for that. Little pieces of the puzzle :) They've done an amazing job! Would love to see those old photos.
Love this! We tried to do the walk today but couldn’t get down to the water - was so steep! What car park did you park in please? Thank you!
Great to watch but it’s bitter sweet agony , as I can’t get out my self . Thanks Ben
Thanks.....and sorry! ;-) Hang on in there, we're almost through.
Hi ben, great to see a upload by you. Hows things?
Hi Henry - yeah okay I think. Missing the snow already ;-)
I think that’s the first time I’ve heard you swear 😂
