As a newbie, I always appreciate how you explain how the device works and walk us through the options and settings 🙏 ps: I'm also looking forward to your Fiio R9 review, because I'm still having trouble with the concept of a streamer. At first glance, I feel like my phone already offers a better screen and interface to stream music. But I notice a lot of people swear by streamers, so maybe there's something I'm missing. I'm also confused about how streamers connect to your DAC amp setup. There seems to be a lot of inputs and outputs in the back panel 😊
Thanks. Your words means a lot to me. R9 review will be up soom, no worries. When it comes to streamers, at this age and time, we are practically all streamers, when you use Tidal, Deezer, Roon, Qobuz and a few others, they are all Hi Res streaming services which you can already enjoy using mobile phones attached to equally High Res capable dongles (and there's tons of them around), or when you use Android based DAPs that allow WiFi. Getting something like R9 goes beyond streamer, it is designated as a total all in one Audio Station for all sort of needs. We will cover on that more later. Cheers
Andy sorry to say I don't concentrate in this video because can't wait to see supermix4 review 😂😂.... Just doing fun.. no doubt a excellent elaborate DAC review, now start giving review score to desktop DAC also 😊😊
I have Dac M1 for quite a while now and your review is exactly what I experience with this Dac very punchy in low frequency and very good mid frequency how does it compare to topping dx3 pro plus ?
I would not know, my experience with Topping stopped with D10s, A50s and NX1 as I find they tend to tune things a bit too analytical and not so much on timbre and tonality, or sound texture
Hello Andy very nice review as always! I have two questions. First of all, as a happy owner of TP50 do you think worth the upgrade to a more desktop solution for my cans(HD600,K701,Tanchjim Zero). And for my cans (HD600,K701,Tanchjim Zero) which filter of EPZ TP50 would you prefer so as to use? Best Regards!
Thanks, if you are already running TP50 on 4.4mm BAL, I do not feel there's a need for desktop DAC/Amps unless you are going for BURSON Audio Playmate 2 or JDS LABS Atom 2 stack
@@donglemadness Yes Andy I run on 4.4BAL. And for my cans (HD600,K701,Tanchjim Zero) which filter of EPZ TP50 would you prefer so as to use? Thanks a lot for all Dear Andy!
Hi Andy, another awesome video! Could you recommend me a dap/amp dongle for HD600s I cant decide on what to buy, preferably something under 150$ (I want to run them from the phone mostly)
Thanks! if you can get a 4.4mm BAL cable for your HD600, then I recommend running it with EPZ TP50 on 4.4mm BAL. If stuck with 3.5mm SE, then get Questyle M12i
For MP145, I like it the most when used with EPZ TP50 on 4.4mm BAL and "Slow PC" filter, High Gain, but since you mentioned fun, iBasso DC03Pro is more suited for fun and crisp sound, EPZ TP50 offers a more transparent, open sound experience
hi! i figured, i'd just ask here, especially since this dac requires a power adapter to run. do you think dac/amps and other gear connected in an audio chain, benefits from a voltage regulator? and does it get hot? i saw a written review saying it got a bit hot. i'm using a laptop. and when i buy a dac/amp, i might power it with a powerbank via a usb to 12v cable (just for space reasons for now, i don't actually know if it adds or subtracts to the audio quality, or does nothing at all).
A voltage regulator usually helps a lot especially if you are connected to a volatile wall power. Fluctuations in power feed can impact sound output, so yes a regulator can make differences. Using q battery power source for the most part is even better than wall because the closed loop grounding tend to be cleaner and free of anomalies. This DAC/Amp does emit heat but not something that bothers me because many other DAC Amps also emit heat especially if they run Class A amps
@@donglemadness thank you so much for the detailed but not too technical answer! i've been browsing reddit subs, but they were too technical for me to understand.
For hi-res playback i need a hi-res certkficated iems and dac hi-res certificated Or with Fiio Ka13 and Elysian Pilgrim is enoght to reproduce my Qobuz playlist hi res Should i buy a Hi-Res Certificated like Dunu Davinci

IMO streaming services are rip offs, digital downloads are much better for you.

I concur with the OP sentiments. Dac review score is fantastic!
DSD512 is supported via USB, the specs say it... the limitation to DSD64 is only DoP (DSD via PCM conversion)
Nice review. 👍🏻

I think you pressed amp or player button. Same thing happened with my SMSL Sanskrit DAC. You switch the remote to different devices than the DAC.
LOL, I think so too
What is your recommendation for only IEMS (like hidizs mp145 or senneheiser ie200) no headphone? I like fun, polish and enjoyable sound.
