- Today we cast our minds back to 2001 and drive a Midland Mainline service to London St Pancras, in traction that no longer serves the station!

🎵🎶In Luton where I was born and raised on the Midland mainline where I spend most of my days spotting some trains to make them cool when a couple guys from Bedford made some trouble in my hoodie my mother got scared and said "your moving with your auntie and uncle in st pancras".🎵🎶 ( that's all I got for now)

319s used to be my favourite EMUs. I used to travel on them everyday, now we have boring Class 700s with rock hard seats.
So bad seats for the class 700 but the rest is good 👍

pretty sad we no longer have the 319s. i loved seeing them pass through st pancras in FCC livery and thameslink blue and white. honestly loved the 319s and was excited for the 700s but now im sad that they are no longer here

Would like to see some Midlands/Birmingham banterage not sure if there’s any scenarios in the game. Maybe the SVR with an excursion on the Snow Hill lines? Just seems that the game is very southern-centric and as a non-southerner it feels alien. Other than that, great you’re back with the train banter.

GA also have 360's in a purple and white livery, those trains run from Liverpool St. to Clacton-On-Sea and Ipswich

I used to drive the 170 Turbostar from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverly for 4 years before Scotrail bought the Class 385s.

The local rag suggests that bi-mode battery trains will be used to replace the 171s. I certainly haven't heard anything from my contacts at Southern about new stock or stock acceptance work on the Uckfield line.

Southern are currently planning to fit batteries to some 377s for the Marshlink

Great video, only one correction, the class 360 on the Great Eastern have always been purple, they have never changed. They used to be in blue and white but they are all purple now
And they were once in the national express livery (NXEA)
Apparently they are either going to electrify the uckfield and marshlink lines or use battery fitted 377s
I remember 319s turning up in rush hour with 4 coaches rather than 8 with people running down the platform, now we have the 700s which I hope last long as Govia love running trains into the ground
Do agree with you, would be nice to see a 360 in a new livery. They did paint one into national express with stripes livery but quickly changed it back when abellio took over.

I once was on a MML 170 BDM to st pancras, just left BDM told rear lights on the unit failed but kept it going but was limited to 10 mph I think all the way into london
It would be nice to see a backdated MML possibly going up to Leicester or Derby

this is so weird to me, living in leicester, because i see crosscountry 170s going between birmingham, leicester and gatwick airport or i see emr HSTs and 222s on the midland mainline, so seeing a midland mainline 170 is bizarre

just trains are doing it, derby - sheffield already out but extension being done to leicester and nottingham
That's funnyhow in britan they slow down for tunnels on the medium speed lines in amarica when a driver sees a uneel they think yes! time o make up some time... and then they open it up all the way and do at least 100 MPH in the tunnels then slam the brakes on as they come out of it lol

well don't most passenger trains hammer it out of the stations so as to meet their required timetabled arrival and departure times? especially at busier stations, or routes with more stops...
also it will only be 6 more months before the intermediate stations no longer get direct intercity trains :(

Personally the 158 is the best noise
note the diffreneces in the 319s thr one with the m on the front was the city metro train the one with the arrow the city flier only the city flier branded thameslink trains of the time carried a firstclass compartment.

Next time you go to St Pancras (in Train Sim) find London Kings Cross
Southern would probably get 769s either from there own (if they still have them) or other 319s. Then it would be no different than when they had 319s, other than the diesel obviousely.
